Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt Demo 100% Walkthrough Part 1 - Regulator Training

- Part one of six. If any of you remember, I have uploaded the demo earlier in the year through the use of an emulator. Since then, I found out about the 3DS capture board, and deleted those videos in favor for recording these ones. Sorry if the sound is too loud, that's how it was recorded.
This is a game that came bundled with the early releases of the Nintendo DS system. It offers three single player programs and has local multiplayer. Other than those, this demo is pretty limited, which was expected from the beginning.
In this part, I go through the first training program, Regulator. It's not too hard, you just need to make it to the end and defeat the Samus clone. If you want to get a high score though, you will need to keep a combo going, meaning that you can miss any hits on the enemies, which is easier said than done.
This was my first Metroid game .-. It scared the living hell out of me mostly because the Metroid jumpscares

Same dude. This was also my first DS game EVER, with the exception of Super Mario 64 DS.
Its a demo bundled with the original Nintendo DS system. Comes complete with a local multiplayer mode so you can start smashing your friends the instant you opened the box.
This is SO nostalgic. The amount of times I played this demo as a kid.
At first I thought this was just a stupid demo (well technically it us) but after seeing this video it actually looks pretty cool. I already have Hunters, but I might give this a shot...

Sam Wilkewitz it's mainly since it's a beta version but cleaned up to be a demo, which is always interesting

The demo has some cool things I don't understand why they didn't put in the final game. The menu music is awesome, (though I like the one in the final game too) I like Regulator and the mission where you fight the Metroids, wish they had those in the actual game
Sam Wilkewitz this was sorta like a "special" demo in the vain of Half Life:Uplink, which gives you an insight of what the game will be like but also has unique content, the difference is that Uplink came after HL1 got GOTY, and First Hunt came before the final game was even finished
The metroids in this game terrified me as a kid, and I would always be hesitant to fight them...for a good 5 minutes. But years later I played the game again and was like "sup bitch" and laughed as I murdered all of them.

Jeronimo Quintero Petrasyls are from the actual Metroid Prime Hunters, the three enemies in First Hunt are Metroids, Mochtroids (probably), and Zoomers.
Same lmao. I was scared as a 10 year old. It was because they mixed in metroid noises with the music
The DS brings back such great memories. The early 2000's were some truly great years in gaming. I played the hell out of this demo until MPH officially dropped. The Metroid attacks reminded me so much of the facehuggers in Alien Trilogy for PSX. I remember casually scrolling through forums back in high school and reading all the online rumours circulating around Metroid Dread being in development for the DS. So glad the wait is finally over.
Weird that the Metroid enemy never made it into the final version of the game.

I have never played Metroid Prime Hunters, so three months ago, I ordered it from a second-hand shop to finally play it. Because of time issues, I had to wait until now to try it out. I started the game today only to realise that what I had received was not the actual game, but this demo. At least it wasn't expensive lol.
And now I know that if I buy something used, I have to check if everything is okay immediatlely xD
Tbh this game scared me as a kid...pretty sure i was like 13... I still remember getting the ds and playing the game...felt badass and scary at the same time 😂
My first metroid game was on the NES classic edition.. and that was like half a year ago I got the NES classic and I still got it! I got a nintendo ds today and this game was with it!
My first metroid game was for the GameCube and it was just metroid prime. I also had metroid prime echoes.

if you shoot with both buttons (L and R) it shoots ultra fast
and the missiles could also charge if you hold it down

@@DDRUTOU if you look on Amazon now it's around $10. You could also run a DS emulator on a 3ds. Just look it up on Amazon now, it's pretty cheap. Good for a few hours of fun or for collecting

It was a pack-in demo that came with the original DS in 2004.

Yeah, I think the controls for the full game are better than the controls in this one. The Boost Ball is annoying in this game.
Especially if you try to collect all the morph ball modules within the time limit...It makes it more difficult. I got all modules within the time limit only 5 times.
The morph ball boost is indeed very annoying in this demo. Not only does it activate on accident too easily, but sometimes it wont even activate when you want it to. It's because it activates when you tap the same directional button twice within a certain time frame, even if you are also holding another directional button at the same time.

Funny how the actual game has no Metroids; this one does. And me without my ice beam.
I wish the real game was more like this. Like more of a real Metroid game. Kinda starved right now for a new title. Damn.

I don't get how it was a demo when hunters amd first hunt didn't have any of the same things. Just the same graphic design ams atmosphere and they were both metroid games

You know the main game would've probably been better if it replaced one of its bosses with that Samus Clone.

@@bstu71 No. I mean if the game is going to just clone Samus like that, then let the Alimbics do it and you've got a cheap and easy to make boss to break up the monotony of slench and cretaphid.
The game already has you fighting 6 other similar hunter "minibosses" that are as hard or harder than this fight, and you can keep running into them afterwards. There's also all those guardians that behave like hunters and use the same weapons.
@@satan915 True, but sometimes it's more about variety than challenge. I don't care how hard Slench 3 is, I don't want to fight it.
@@wolfgod6443 Sure but my point was that if there was a Samus clone like that in the game, it would just be another similar hunter fight, even if it was an Octolith boss, and it'd still leave a lot of Slench and Cretaphid bosses. Also the hunter fights are variety, they just aren't Octolith bosses. They could have served as 6 of the bosses, leaving just 1 Slench and Cretaphid for the other 2 fights, but then there wouldn't be minibosses except maybe as repeats after you first beat them.
PLEASE stop killing the space ghosts. They might be your descendants.

I would skip the First Hunt demo and stick with the full game called "Metroid Prime: Hunters", without the the "First Hunt" in the title.

This game is kinda small, and I feel kinda ripped off.
The game was literally a demo that was packaged with the Nintendo DS when it was first released. How can you feel ripped off if it was free?
Assuming the bundle is even how he got it (rather than a secondhand purchase) it could have been one of the reasons why he bought the bundle in the first place. Also, maybe he could have gotten a DS for cheaper without anything bundled.
