I found this explanation on a Gigi and Dani video and I want to share it here so if anyone is wondering why Dani is arrested this is the explanation:
"Dani was arrested for contempt of court since she was subpoenaed by the court. Being subpoenaed means that the court is ordering you to do something (the most broad concept are either appear in court as a witness or provide evidence). When that order happens, you actually HAVE to do it. There’s no getting around it. If you disobey the subpoena (order of the court) to testify or provide evidence - which in Dani’s case, she left the court when she was ordered to testify - you can be held in contempt and arrested. Why? It’s because it is seen as an obstruction of justice. Being in “contempt” means that your action is seen as a disobedience or disrespecting the court."

I have one more question: can the court actually ask someone to testify while they are under panic attack? And if they still do it during mental breakdown, wouldn’t it make their testification inconvincible?
a misdemeanor, no difference from yelling at the court. Shouldn't be a problem, the writing is purely for drama.
@hacm thanks for the explanation! Now I get it. But what @Carmen W said was just what I thought. It’s not a big crime, just the writers decided to end this season that way, that’s why it pissed me off so much. I really hate how they ended EVERY SINGLE couple’s plot in the finale
@hacm I think when they wrote season 2 they were focusig on sophie and finely since lots of people shipped them in s1 and were fan favourites, however introducing Gini to the audience changed eeverything for them. They cant just reshoot everything. The same thing with Tess and Shane, theuy were building for their relationship since s1.
They better not screw this relationship up. Both have remarkable chemistry together on & off screen. They are def endgame to me.

I just feel bad for Dani every time she tries to be happy something happens and I’m tired of it. Either issues with her dad, her job, Sophie cheating, and now her getting arrested. She was finally so happy and I’m worried that because of all this pressure she’s under she’s going to snap and Gigi’s gonna run out of patience and they’re gonna break up. I hope next season this ordeal brings them closer and makes them stronger.

Dani has really been through a lot this season. Hopefully with Gigi fighting for her in the corner, Dani can have muster up the strength and courage to tell the truth in the court in season 3. Hoping that Dani isn't traumatized from being locked up in jail, Gigi's family view on Dani doesn't change after witnessing the arrest, and that their relationship will be stronger after all of this. 💔
I think they are together based on emotional survival. Gigi deserves love too tho
All of those things will happen but I think Gigi will be there regardless
I think Dani will definitely have to earn a place with Gigi’s family, but it will all work out.
I have always been border line begging shows to use other things, ANYTHING other than cheating, to create tension between couples. And here they have been doing it.
Lexa's death was the final nail in the coffin for me so i don't invest emotionally in onscreen fiction anymore. But these two are making it pretty hard not to care. I hope to see Gigi stay strong in her resolve to not take any shit from Dani. Dani I hope continues to work on her trust issues. I also hope to see Gigi face some of her insecurities,which she hides really well,and for Dani to support her.
And as with every episode since Gen Q was announced I hope to see Carmen. The story arc they can run with her and Shane after all this time has ginormous potential. I personally want Carmen's mother to run into Shane first.

I just love the way they communicate with each other. I really like GiGi’s honesty with herself and with Dani. Especially when she told Dani her feelings changed. I think this is what Dani she feels comfortable opening up to. Dani def show a lot of self-growth. i like this couple….. a lot. At first I shipped Dani and Bette but after Bette did that and something just tells me Bette and Dani may not go well together.
I never shipped Dani and Bette because there wasn't anything remotely organic about them. Dani had a school girl crush and Bette had a motherly feeling for Dani.

I feel like this relationship is mature, if not most mature in the entire series. The communication is always well-delivered. I'm just saying that Gigi deserves someone who would want to go deeper in a relationship with her after all that short-lived romps, I want this character more than just love interest to main characters, I want to know more about her. And Dani really deserves someone who's willing to stand with & for her, put her first without questions, someone who can ground her, gets her to talk openly & willingly, and brave all those prickly defenses to hold her when she's sad.
They deserve each other.
But I might be biased since I don't watch the original series that much & only YT clips (banned in my country obviously) so I can only compare with their previous relationships: Gigi-Bette & Dani-Sophie. And also their chemistry is wow, it's a shot right to my core every single time.

The ending was such bullshit, it honestly feels like the writers would rather throw some unnecessary drama at them rather than actually build their relationship and focus on that, same goes for Bette and Tina. It's starting to get old now. Hopefully season 3 will be better in that sense and will actually let us enjoy the characters and not have them deal with something every 5 seconds. Gigi's glow up is insaneeee. I only saw few clips of her character though. At first I thought that the gigi fron season 1 vs 2 is a different person. Her character development was amazing. Oh my I'm obsessed

IMO Gigi already have feelings for Dani, on that dinner when she said "I want to know more about you."
But she's waiting for the perfect time. There's no way she is not invested in earlier, because feelings are not switches. It grows. She's waiting until it grows stronger or maybe to end whatever she had with Bette first before exploring things with Dani.
Gigi's character is why I watch this show. I just want the best for her, she deserves to be in a healthy and mature relationship and Dani deserves someone who's willing to be in her corner.
They are my favorite new couple!!!! And Gigi is just 😍😍😍

definitely my favorite gen q couple, and so amazing to see as a fellow queer iranian-american woman. i also really like micah and maribel, as disabled people, we don't often get to see representation like that. this show is miles ahead of the original in terms of showing the diversity of the queer community. that's not to say that the original was bad or anything...it was just very of its time. i'm glad the franchise is moving forward now. i think dani and gigi could be endgame but we will see.

Chemistry that they create is off the roof
at first i thought dani will end up with bette. but it seem that bette too much self center, too obses with her mission and agenda. fack bette. harharhar. when i see dani meet gigi and see how gigi try to win over dani, i find out it was very excited. how the way gigi flirt, sweet talk, being sensitive, not overreact, just follow the flow, it gives me a wow impression. this the way how mature person try to win over someone. i only watch this series because i want see development of their relationship. i dont care about other character story. hahaha. i wish they both have a good ending together. if not, damm you writer.

I just watched this video… Another good one, I bet you saw the explanation about contempt of court on Ash Silver‘s video… She is very much in depth on everything she discusses and I subscribe to her I love her videos and she puts everything she’s got into that… If you haven’t watched her videos you should because she will definitely give you any kind of info and any update about everything L word and generation Q…And I say this because she does different videos than you did both very good in different ways… And she does a live video once a week which is great because everyone gets to chat with her… So I’m curious to think whether you got that information from one of her videos…?

i hate the fact that I am too much invested on those two while i know that this is one of the L word couples and I'm probably gonna get my heart broken since the writers are fond of screwing up good things.😢
As much as I am happy and excited about S3 iam also so scared that they'll fucked up these two cuz they're the reason i kept watching the last season (honestly i watched it all cuz of them)
But a small optimistic part of me hopes that may be they'll keep them.
i mean i don't care if they'll surround them with extrinsic drama as long as they'll keep them together.
i'll bear all the slow burn of them falling in love, angst ,slow build..... every thing(it worths it) but just let them be ok with each other ,and let them progress their relation deeply, healthily🥺.

Gigi and Dani have definitely endgame potential, I hope we’ll see their healthy relationship blossom. I’m confident the show knows how much love this couple is receiving and how important it is to show a love story between two middle-eastern queer women. I know the L Word doesn’t have the best track record on healthy relationships but I can’t help but keep my hopes up for these two. I’ll definitely do more edits of them when season 3 is back, hope to see you in my channel!

Why is this season 2 not on showmax?
I can't believe the L Word actually did a good job with getting a couple together for once only to ruin them in one episode. I'm glad it was canceled, but I do miss seeing Gigi and Dani, but mostly Gigi. haha
