How I wish you'd gotten around to making that trip to Beverly Hills to Rod's home to meet and interview him! I honestly believe that if you'd simply knocked on his door and politely introduced yourself that he'd have invited you inside! That's precisely what I did with another artist who was far more elusive: Syd Barrett. I still treasure that afternoon we had together, chatting. Just because Rod is no longer with us I hope you are still seriously considering making a documentary about him. As far as I'm aware his brother stills lives in that house. I don't think he sold it.
When I was young, I could not get with Rod McKuen . Oh, i did try, but no matter what, McKuen just could not get with me. I purchased" The Sea ":, in the late 60's, but refused to really listen to it. No, it wasn't until I hit my 60's ---------my later 60's -----that mcKuen bagn to speak to me. Now at 76 y/o, i am understanding him wonderfully. ------------------MJL
