Why do we have so many poor journalists/interviewers in Jamaica?? Ask the questions about the root of this nuh?!! How was the relationship growing up and what exactly caused this. Ask these questions! These are biased questioning too, we need to stop calling an 18 yr old “an adult”. Us adults know that at 18 we were still mentally children.

First of all what is the problem between Mr. Richards and his son? When he said his son has been disrespectful to him and family, what exactly has Whisper done that Father Richards considers disrespectful? And he said that he didn't hold up his son's transfer to Chelsea. So how comes Whisper had to wait until his 18th birthday before certain papers could be taken care of to finalize his transfer? This is so sad. I hope Whisper is able to focus and succeed in his professional career despite this terrible situation he is in.
You can’t enter a business contract unless you’re an adult. The only way Whisper could have played for Chelsea before he was 18 is if he was in the academy before the signing or if he had a work permit which comes with its own set of rules and red tape. He would have to be a UK or European resident otherwise.
When he became an adult he can make his own signing and decisions. He also needed a certain number of games with the national team to qualify for his work permit. If you listen carefully the father said that Whisper needed parental consent to travel with Butler to Europe. Either the father or the mother has to give that permission unless Butler faked their consent which I doubt

Brah the man has not committed any crime. There must have been issues in your relationship. I am not saying its your fault. Many men have been thru this. You are not the first or will you be the last parent who has had issues with a teenager. There are bigger forces than you at play, but you have to chill, swallow pride, take back your reckless words, and one day that call will come.

@dioriginalrikog plenty of young footballers do that especially the under age ones. U should study the business side of the game some more and the role parents play in the lives of young footballers before they turn 18 or 21 depending on the league they going.

@@EltonDaStallion exactly. I even knew of instance the clubs provided accommodation for the parents to live. My Neighbour’s son went to Portugal for a 18 month trial. His dad to a leave of absence from work and went with him. Once my son is under age and travelling for football or any sport best believe I’m finding a way to go. That’s one experience of a parent I do not want to miss out on.

@Ghetto-Chef the dad revealed himself with his own words in a previous interview. The root of the problem is chicanery and the love of money. After listening to both sides I have come to the conclusion that the father had more of a hand in the breakdown of the relationship than many believe.

Your son just got carried away, they all made mistakes, but I think you shouldn’t face the media on this topic ….your son is still your son he’s still young and he’s going to get it, and when he does you gonna forgive him.
So he didn’t make the signature right. And the son could not make the move until he was 18. So you did hold up the transfer, and I assume you expected some form of compensation or gesture for that signature but you didn’t get that. So it makes sense why he had to wait until 18. This man allowed the media to instigate and drive a wedge further and further between him and his son. We keep on hearing the same thing. No one owes us anything in this life. Just keep moving. Love conquers all. I would support my son, even if I disown him due to emotions. I will be proud nonetheless. Social media and the media at large are ruining black families. Pops should have never gone to the media! It wouldn’t surprise me if that’s the thing that upset Whisper the most out of everything that’s already happened. Whisper is still your son. Family issues are heavy and heartbreaking but to publicly burn bridges like this is tough. He may regret these words one day, even if Whisper is indeed in the wrong. Best not talk like this when the pain is so fresh.

Big misunderstanding here. The father wants the best for his son, but a lot of issues regarding Mr butler and the father...... It seem the opportunities that butler presented to the son were more appealing to the son hence why he "choose" to be with mr butler, now the father wasn't pleased with that and that's where the biggest issue in all of this is coming from. This is not fair for the son as he has to choose father or the professional coach.... Just my opinion, i hope they can come together for this young man so he can focus 100% on football and put all of this madness behind him.
