Hi, I'm sure this is a dumb question, but is the metal cage required for the totes structural integrity, or can these totes be filled with water without being in a cage? Thanks!
I've seen people use them without the cage! It just depends on your application if you leave it filled to the top 24/7 and its in a sunny location the plastic on these does eventually start to loose some of its strength. I only fill mine to the top when I need that much water. Not sure your application but if the cage is a problem I'd cut it off but leave the elevated base if possible. That way you could still utilize the pallet built into the bottom for transport.
