    Awesome.. i have the same exact setup just putting it together but cannot seem to find anywhere a tutorial on how to get it all setup so I can use the 8outs from the S16 + the 16outs from the dn4816.. I’m sure I’ll eventually figure it out but just in case you get to read this it’d be very helpful if you could tell me how you got the M32C to recognise all connected devices.. (so far I can only see the S16 connected on mine.. 🤔 must be missing something)

    that is a great option! curious if this would work with a x-air 18 - that would be a very minimalistic and clean setup.

      @ModernDrumStudio  Год назад +4

      It would! No different than what we are doing - just plug into the Ultranet port and adjust the Ultranet outs to send pre EQ, fader, etc.

      @@ModernDrumStudio Can confirm it does work! I did some tests and if you set the tap points right on the ultranet output, it will work! It is true if you adjust the gain afterwards it will effect it

    I´ve been using a similar gear with DN4816o but the signal from DN4816o it´s to hot to use it in a mixing board as DirectOut or Splitter, thats is because the M32 and X32 only have IN/LC option, tath is postgain.... now I must to do a short XLR cable attenuators -20db because I need tolerance range to sendit to another board.

    some solid pros and some solid cons. but if they can update the gain thing... that would be the best

    • @ModernDrumStudio
      @ModernDrumStudio  Год назад +2

      Totally. Hoping they will, but even if not, it’s really only an issue if we have to backline for other bands - we never touch gains after getting setup, but other gear may need gain adjustments.

      @@ModernDrumStudio for my situation, it's almost easier to set up prior to show and backing cables and mics as 3 or 4 ands a night generally.

    Save yourself the 2nd roadcase and install the DN unit in the LOW BOTTOM of the same case. It appears that the DN isn't deep enough to affect a Cat5 from your DL16 while still allowing space for your IEM cables...

      It would fit for sure, but the issue is where we need to plug in for FOH - if their snake is next to our mixer, then it would work, but most of the time their snake is farther away from where we keep our rack. We all plug I to the rack, and if the DN was in the same rack, the location of the FOH snake would dictate where we need to put our big rack, and that’s a pain to deal with.

    It's my understanding that his method sends a line level signal after each channels input gain. Have you ran into any issues with FOH sending a line level signal to their boards?

    • @ModernDrumStudio
      @ModernDrumStudio  Год назад +4

      Great question - haven’t run into an issue with the line level signal. The only issue you may run into is if you’re back lining for other bands because the gain settings on your mixer will affect FOH. It’s not an issue if you’re the only band and don’t touch your gains after staging, but drum mics and inputs that will receive a varied signal may need gains adjusted on your mixer if they’re clipping. But if you set them low and sound check all the bands through it at a low setting so that it doesn’t clip, you should be fine. It’s not as ideal as an analog splitter, but saves a ton of time, weight, and cable mess. We haven’t run into any issues where we couldn’t use it. Hope this helps!

      @@ModernDrumStudio I had the same question, too bad it didn't have an option to act like a typical splitter.

      The signals going to FOH will run through another set of preamps there anyway, so they can still "trim" the level. It's not like sending the signals down an AES50 line directly to another mixer.

    It’s a shame this will not work as a true splitter without sending line level to FOH. If it did, I would throw $$ down

  • @chadvandamme3307

    Line level to FOH is not ideal. It will give the FOh engineer fits. The only way this works is if you will send only left/right/sub and they mix via your M32C.
