Underkill? More like Underwhelm, hehe. Never heard of this one, but I can think of two sci-fi books I've read which have a medical themed. First one is "Plague from space" by Harry Harrison, from 1965. A spaceship comes back to Earth from it's Jupiter expedition (book's alternative tittle is "A plague from Jupiter), and brings a deadly decesase within. The book is very silly, simple and sexist, but also entertaining, mainly because it's short and extremely fast paced. It's also the second book I've read from Harrison which features a hot redhead girl. The second book it's "Paresite Eve" by Hideaki Sena, from 1995. This one inspired the classic videogame series by the same tittle, though reading the book, they bear very little resemblance. This one is good, kind of "biological sci-fi", quite suspenseful and with a little bit of horror. Also, the ending is very disturbing, so trigger warning for S.A., I guess.
Ha! Yeah, pretty much! Funnily enough, I recently spent some time looking for new books to buy and came across Harry Harrison. I might have to get Plague from Space, I do like silly books! Pity, the premise seems to promise quite an interesting story. Oh yeah, I think my brother used to have Parasite Eve on the PlayStation 1. I’ll try and get a copy of that too. I’ll have to wait a bit though, I’ve spent too much this month on books… and I’m only getting eight! Cheers Cristian.
Yes, I imagine we are of a similar age. Ah, that must be a very pleasant memory to have of your grandmother. It was a really good programme I thought, must better than watching bargain hunt :/ Quincy was also a favourite, along with Columbo.
Too bad it was a crappy book 😢😢 Have you read 'Replay', by Ken Grimwood? I just finished it and it was quite a journey. Curious to know what you think about it. Shitty covers though
Hey Nucky! After I read your comment I went hunting for a copy. As you say, the covers aren't brilliant, although the first edition was really nice... very expensive though. I'm hoping to read some time travel stuff soon, so I'll add this to the list. I'm having to wait to buy this one though, because I've just splurged on a new haul 😅
Very kind of you to watch! Yeah, not worth bothering with unfortunately. But I do like reading stuff I've never heard of before, you never know, it might be good!
No idea. Never heard of him. Don't like shoe horned scifi. Good review. Not watched Diagnosis Murder. Scott Baio looks 12 in it. Was it father and son actors. Off for a tea. How is the brewing coming on. Explosioning scenario as yet. Taste test!
hahaha! Yeah, he does look very young in this. I always found his overacting during the explosion during the intro very amusing. Yeah, Dick van Dyke's son was in it sometimes, played a cop. I think he was in it more in the later series. Brew has stopped fermenting, which is normal. But I'm going to let it sit on the yeast for a couple more weeks before I rack it. Has cleared a little, but still looks (and I imagine, tastes) like cold piss. Hasn't exploded though! I'll do a taste test soon :D Cheers for watching mate!
@@newsfromthegelding I read Escape Orbit. Super preachy, quite sexist and painfully dull. Plus he claims to be a doctor in real life but he never went to medical school and was a tailor Hahaha

I liked Diagnosis Murder. I watched it all the time with my grandmother. (I think I'm close to your age)

Gonna skip this one! Thanks for the review!

James Wipe.
His writing is insufferable.
Ah, you've had some experience then?! I'd certainly think twice before reading another one, unless the Sector General stuff was worth reading.

Read something good next 😂
I really hope I will, bit of a minefield this year 😅
