On the second year of the uni, we started learning draping. We were doing the basic bodice with darts. And it went to the whole semester 🤯 we were doing the simple bodice and couldn't get it right. We weren't using mannequins, we were doing on our partners. The teacher used to say it would be much easier doing it on mannequins after learning on the real body. that was a tough and traumatic time for all of us 😂
For draping preparation, how do you determine the lines (neckline, bust line etc.) ? Are there fixed measurements you use for different sizes or do you take measurements from your mannequin?
Anyone in the comments from Europe that knows a good place to buy like Fairgate rulers or a big meter ruler in metric, like a wide and thick one? Been struggling to find good rulers and shipping from US will be like 80usd for me.
