Peter Allen is amazing. His song, his voice with Bob Fosse's choregraphy. Peter was made do Fosse. I was a student of Jazz Ballet in the 70s and 80s and love what I learnt about both Peter's music and Fosse's dance. Heaps of enjoyment from that. Thanks :)
This is sensational! Thankyou for posting it. I am in awe of Peter Allen's many talents. Wish I had seen this show. We lost a HUGE talent when he passed. He truly was an entertainer as well as a wonderful singer....and it's sad that so many will never know him.
On this day in 1992 {June 18th} Peter Allen passed away at the young age of 48. He co-composed two #1 hits; "I Honestly Love You" with Jeff Barry, sung by Olivia Newton John, it stayed at #1 for 2 weeks. In 1981 with Burt Bacharack & Carole Bayer Sager he co-wrote "Arthur's Theme", it peaked at #1 {for 3 weeks} by Christopher, the song also won an Oscar for 'Best Original Song'. And in 1978 along with Carole Bayer Sager he co-composed Melissa Manchester's "Don't Cry Aloud", it reached #10.
wow peter allen was great, i never heard of this guy till just now, i think he puts more joy into performing than anyone ive ever seen, i actually laughed with joy when i watched this, thanks :)
VEHRICH- Thank you for sharing this treasure. my only lament was that in 1981 we didn't have 'HiFi' video (full-bandwith audio with stereo sound) home-recorders. Showtime broadcast as a special live performance and it was spectacular!
This is from the short lived live variety TV show, "Live and In Person", hosted and produced by Michael Jackson's manager. They attempted to bring back the live variety shows of the 1960's and 1970's, without success. I saw this live. Listen at 2:30 --Peter says, "Have I got em all?"..an audience member replies "Give me one". Listen at 3:42..the director's camera direction is heard by mistake.

I absolutely love this song and the Peter Allen dancing with the Rockettes. I've been looking for a long time to see this again.
True style and class!
A man for the ages.

Love love the costumes and stage decorations.
Thank you for sharing this. I had no idea that Bob Fosse choreographed this.
This is from the variety show, "Live...And in Person" from September 1983.
He was, and is, a force of nature.

We need to have a annual Peter Allen Memorial award! Peter would love it!

loved him - an original
He knew how to kick ass..........if your foot isn't tapping, you are daed.
Pure talent.... Not the crap of today
Peter kicks just as high as the Rockettes!
How limber did he have to be!
I see him on Broadway!
Boy could he keep up with the girls. Not missing a step.
