@skylite0098 yeah it does look awesome. I really love the black kryptek and black multicam patterns cause they look just as intimidating but offer better concealment capabilities.
If anybody is wondering multicam black or just black is typically used in maritime environments. Such as raiding ships or fighting while on the water. You can see some US SEALs and Canadian NTOGs using it. It goes really well with a tan/brown vest. Which makes you look like a badass modern tactical pirate.
Its the least used color in any fighting force. Black is very visible under nods, wheres camo/color patterns are better in general. Black/green is used for police force often because they dont fight enemies with nvg capablity. Ship raiders using black is simply low tier units, cansofcom uses multicam even with navy ops.
Technically the “ACU” pattern is actually named the Universal Camouflage Pattern or “UCP.” ACU stands for “Army Combat Uniform” the uniform that replaced our BDUs or “Battle Dress Uniform.” UCP was just the first (atrocious) cammo pattern that the ACU was made in so everyone calls it that. ATACS FG and Pencott Greenzone are some of my personal favourites. I am an EMR (Digital Flora) user though. I think that one works best in the green environments I usually play. The 6sh122 cover complement is also great to complement the EMR to not-so-green fields. The grey side of the cover is especially good. Back to the EMR, not so sure it would work so well in your area. Another camo I particularly like is old KLMK Beryozka.
Erbsenmuster is by far the best pattern ever made. I use it all the time whether I'm reenacting or airsofting ...you literally disappear. As far as I'm concerned, it's the mother of all modern camo patterns.
DPM has one weakness that if you know it, it will make it easier to detect. dont get me wrong, i love DPM, i use it my self. but since i know the weakness of it i know its not the best cammo if you wanna stay hidden.
Same! I've been using Atacs-FG for a few years and never see anyone else with it unless I go to Big events. I like being unique. Its just a bit awkward in my woodland sites when its really brown and muddy.
I've been starting to switch over to A-TACS IX, as it tends to be a bit more universal and has more depth to the eye, which helps it work better even up close. Unfortunately it's still quite a recent pattern, so it's a lot harder to get and tends to come at a premium. That said, it mixes very nicely with FG and other similar patterns like tiger stripes, M05 and the like, so you can mix and match gear for a solid set up, if you don't _need_ everything to be in the same pattern.
I'm British, and my local field is in a dense woodland. So I went to an army surplus store and chose DPM (Disruptive Pattern Material) for my camo, which the army used up until the early / mid 2000s. Fun fact, the jacket I bought was worn by a British Royal Engineer during the Falkland conflict. As someone who sadly cannot join the military for medical reasons, that was quite humbling to find out. The DPM pattern does wonders with my Tokyo Marui VSR10 as I'm hiding in a thick set of leaves and branches. :)
You'll be glad you never joined the military when crap hits the fan. Standing armies are unconstitutional under the English constitution. They're arguably worse than the police.
That's what they told you, to sell it to you. If you create a story on a product, it's easier to sell it and it's a known marketing trick. Exept if thta same British Royal Engineer, gave it to you...
In our team we use uniform and gear in Olive, but Alpentarn/Alpenflage look pretty cool (and despite it's look, it's work!). BTW for majority of Russian fields SSO Spectr is the best option
If not limited to issued military camos then realtree max4 or waterfowl type camos works real good around any sort of dead or dry vegetation. Late summer and autumn use anywhere that's green early then dries out.If limited to military camo French Lizard looks great.
i still like the british military DPM woodland pattern, for the UK, its hard to beat DPM woodland, even MTP doesnt really cut it sometimes where DPM woodland does, in summer when all the foliage is green, and obviously the tree trunks are brown, its great, and again, in winter when the soil is exposed in places, but theres still the evergreen trees and ferns growing, its great
Hey! i personaly use a DOT 44 or Splintertarn Scheme in wooded areas and marpat everywhere else. or at all times when I am in the field. Hope this helps! - 1st. Sergeant
Not sure I really have a favorite, but all these are good choices. Multicam Black was designed specifically for SWAT/law enforcement for the express purpose of looking cool, with function as camouflage being secondary.
I prefer Multicam Tropic, I think it looks good and it is a effective camouflage pattern for the Swedish woods, at least in the part of Sweden where I live.
For autumn I can’t find any better choice than Swiss Alpentarn. This thing is laughably cheap and sturdy while being really effective in European forest (brownish tones look exactly like dead leaves).
for me the most effective and most beautiful is the ESTDCU or CADPAT :) I live in Estonia and thats what we have here, so beautiful and very effective in Europe.
No pattern can make up for poor concealment choice. I see too many people fussing about what pattern they wear, while failing to consider their cover and concealment choice. Get lower to the ground if possible, add some disruptive material to your hat/helmet, pick foliage that has different foliage right next to it, step back from the windows if you are in a building, etc.
I use flecktarn I think it looks real good and works great in the danish forests and also I play milsim and my team is bundeswehr so we have to use what they use. But for playing around at home I often tend to go with a little homemade ghillie Ish shirt and some British MTP since we have a lot of light open fields so that just fits better

The one I myself went to pretty much immediately when I saw it was Kryptek Mandrake. Just looks badass and I think being a reptile person played a small roll. Pain in the ass to find all my gear in that color, but it all looks amazing.
British MTP and DPM are really great for jungle environments(DPM) for places with high grass some trees and maybe some bushes the british MTP is a good choice
My favourites are the good old Swiss Alpenflagen (based on a German scheme from 1944/45), the Russian SS-Leto (summer version of a camouflage based in wartime Waffen SS one from 1940-45), then the Vietnam era ERDl (which is the great Grand father of Woodland, but is much more beautiful, with smaller patches and an astonishing pea green) and some of the tigerstripe schemes, those with high contrastas in the colours. The Italian previous désert scheme from the 1990’s is also beautiful and rater than others.

Multicam, if I need a bit more mottled pattern than ATACs AU for arid or ATACs FG for more green. Helikon Pencott Badlands is also a great one for deserts with red and tan.
