It's been a mad and beautiful 2 years playing on the streets of Berlin. We're so joyous to finally release our debut single 'Elizabeth'
    Elizabeth (lyrics and chords)
    (Verse 1)
    .......Am...........F...........C
    You wake from comfort's edge
    .....Am.........F........C
    To mornings soiled bed
    ........Am.........F..............C
    Now slumber's sweetened tooth
    .........Am........F....C
    Bites down in cold untruth
    (Chorus 1)
    Am.F...C
    Oh oh no Elizabeth
    Am.F...C
    Oh oh no
    Am.F...C
    Oh oh no Elizabeth
    Am.F...C......G
    Oh oh no
    (Verse 2)
    Through pre-pubescent tones
Their sticks will break your bones
    And as your walking home
    You cry cry cry alone
    Through pre-pubescent tones
Their sticks will break your bones
And don't look up to call
For all they are is tall
    (Chorus 2)
    Don't do that Elizabeth
    Don't do that
    Don't do that Elizabeth
    Don't do that
    (Verse 3)
    Though few days you've had
Those days have all been sad
When youth has found its past
    These days stay overcast
    Though few days you've had
Those days have all been sad
    No matter what is said
    Life stays a sodden bed
    (Chorus 3)
    You're unloved Elizabeth
    You're unloved
    You're unloved Elizabeth
    You're unloved
    You're unloved Elizabeth
    You're unloved
    You're unloved Elizabeth
    You're unloved
    You're unloved
    You're unloved
    You're unloved
    You're unloved
'Though few days you've had, those days have all been sad.' Elizabeth, the debut single from Berlin-based Indie-Folk band 'Charity Children', is a tribute to the unloved; a marching exaltation devoted to the downtrodden, bullied and supposedly weak.
In 2011 the two lovers left their homeland of New Zealand to send their intimate melodies flying through the graffitied streets and smoky bars of Berlin. Elizabeth is the first single from their debut release 'The Autumn Came'.
