I own a 5000 and they are an awesome machine. 10 mins after purchasing the 5000, got a nice signal and a gold nugget. We have gone on to find many more :)
2:13 mins Mate, don't ever run a sample in your hand over the metal detector. The salt in your sweat is enough to give a false reading. Try using a plastic digging spoon, then you can be sure of your signal. Just a friendly tip from a Canadian prospector. Cheers!
Gotta love a hobby. Geez my fishing boats and rods,reels,tackle etc etc would owe me 30k plus now thats alot of fish to pay for it self but that's what a hobby is all about. The fun and memories!

Depth is shit but the range around the coil is great about 3 inchs from the coil you will hear a target. If you put the rx gain up you can find up to about 10cm but thats only with dirt not rocky ground.
much better if we use that here in the philines i guide you if where the cave i found that where i saw the round table rock and tree chair of rock and have sign of katana with arrow into the rock stone...
