folks, i understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion and that people can like what they like and dis what they don''t, sometimes, two diametrically-opposed elements can be equally true. beauty comes in different shapes and forms. i love both versions -- the in-your-face, hard-hitting biker version from season 1 and the haunting, subtle, tex-mex, aztec, new western interpretation of season 2. to me, this decision to change the artist and the interpretation llustrates the open-mindedness and brilliance of the people producing the show. as a person who primarily makes his living performing, teaching, and recording music, i have grown to embrace many different styles of music from a variety of cultures. imagine a world that only had one form of music to choose from or only have one style of food to eat or one style of car to drive. no thanks, give me variety as long as it's done with beauty and passion.
I honestly believe they changes it up because this season because there is a huge focus on mothers and sons this season, but yeah the original fits it better.
I love both season 1 & 2 of this song, I don't know why they cut it out for season 3 (an instrumental). The voices I associate with the characters on the show and they should've just left it as is, or else just get a third singer.
