The guy on stage is Sefa. He was chosen to play the endshow on his birthday. The endshow is always pre-mixed because it has to fit perfectly with the firework and lightshow. Which is why he had all the time to celebrate and have the moment of his live. What a better gift can a dj wish.

Mine was the first edition in 2003. Then 2004 before moving into other genres after 4 years of many Q-Dance parties. Revisited at 2015 and '16 to work there, had an absolute blast.

The track at around 10 minutes is JDX ft. Sarah Maria - Live The Moment. Everyone is silent because it's a classic and everone there knows it, so they enjoy it. Oh and the bass hits way harder when you are in front of the subs ;). Like we say in the Netherlands: the bass should not be heard, it should be felt.
I’ve been working at a few Defqon’s as Light Tech. But building days are very busy. We had a team of 40 light Techs for only 1 big stage😂😂 the Black stage.

I'm not one of the tech people that build a defqon stage but it for sure is very nice to hear it get appriciated, its hard work and doing a light show live is very hard. fun fact, this closing ceremony show is fully programmed in advance, the lights, lasers, fireworks, pyro and everything are set up to make a song look good in every step it plays in

This year Defqon.1 is extended to 4 days, that means an opening ceremony and 2 regular end-shows on friday and saterday with fireworks, and another closing ceremony like this on the sunday. + another power hour, and it's all promised to be even bigger and more spectacular, because the last 2 editions where canceled due to lockdowns!

I have been working for years on the tech side on these productions "equipment supplier side" as logistical manager. The crazy part was, we had 2 cross load from other shows in Germany etc that was the weekend before to get the trucks directly 2 this show. usually we had around 20 trailers of equipment across the big areas. and afther this they all had 2 be cross loaded to other festivals. Working weeks without sleep
Festivals in Europe normally are like this everyone together as one. Almost every festival in every country have this togetherness in mind. Its actually really cool they forget about everything outside the festival and just enjoy the moment as one.

Haha i havent been to all of them but damn ive been to a lot. Ive got a few friends of mine that went every weekend, almost every defqon. Even when they were still at the beach of Almere. Man the vibes are just unreal. When i get back there in 2022 (already have the tickers) im going to kiss the sacret grounds of Defqon and get chills all over for finally begin back.

Had no idea you reacted to hardstyle otherwise I would have found you sooner. I love hardstyle listened to it since I was like 7 and im 28 currently I can sit in bed and have it playing in earphones and fall asleep. I believe it's such an amazing peice of music with amazing kicks which are the hard beats. Maybe listen to some of brennan heart and Jonathan such beautiful music together.
i went from Defqon 2006 untill 2014 or something like that! Greatfull to have been able to grow up in one of the best hardstyle/hardcore years! Also, its probably hard to tell but @17:40 the firework is ment to show a Heart (i imagine its hard to create with fireworks, but if u know u see!)
Didn't catch all the defqon.1, I started in 2006 at almere beach and went for 14 years on a row, then i skipped a couple en went again. it's a very cool festival and yeah at defqon Biddinghuizen you have the go for the hole weekend! and don't forget there are many other cool festival's to visit over here :)

This year would have been the tenth time i´d been to defqon. It´s just amazing there. Great people, great vibe , great party.

Had no idea you reacted to hardstyle otherwise I would have found you sooner. I love hardstyle listened to it since I was like 7 and im 28 currently I can sit in bed and have it playing in earphones and fall asleep. I believe it's such an amazing peice of music with amazing kicks which are the hard beats. Maybe listen to some of brennan heart and Jonathan such beautiful music together.
Almost all TOP DJ's are Dutch. The Dutch have had the most influence on EDM. Yep........the Dutch know how to make a party.

i went from Defqon 2006 untill 2014 or something like that! Greatfull to have been able to grow up in one of the best hardstyle/hardcore years!
Also, its probably hard to tell but @17:40 the firework is ment to show a Heart (i imagine its hard to create with fireworks, but if u know u see!)
Didn't catch all the defqon.1, I started in 2006 at almere beach and went for 14 years on a row, then i skipped a couple en went again. it's a very cool festival and yeah at defqon Biddinghuizen you have the go for the hole weekend! and don't forget there are many other cool festival's to visit over here :)
