'BHONSLE' Behind The Scenes 2 : Shooting with Lalbaugcha Raja
Here's a detailed look at what we all really went through to get that epic, now-historic #LalbaugchaRaja #Ganpati huge-ass #ZoomOut shot of Manoj Bajpayee walking through a crowd of over 70,000 people in Lalbaug, Mumbai.
This video once again features the wonder that is our Cinematographer #JigmetWangchuk, his Associate DoP #RangoliAgarwal, and the second unit DoP on this shoot, the brilliant, unsung hero #MohitPuri.
Watch Manoj Bajpayee walk through a sea of frantically revelling people, not once, not twice, but SIX times! Until we got what was our #OkTake!
This one shot was a mini miracle of intense planning, meticulous coordination and simultaneously surrendering to the uncontrollable chaos that is the Mumbai Ganpati Visarjan (something we may not see in 2020 because of CoVid).
This video also features a host of heroes who came together and bust their asses to get this impossible shot - assistant directors Shiladitya Sen, Shreyas Chougule, Shikhar Shrivastava, Riya Kulkarni, Mrugank Indurkar, Pratik Kinnarimath, Vinamra Pancharia. This video features some screaming, garnished with expletives. Kindly excuse that. It was the singlemost intense shooting day of our collective lives. Hugs were distributed widely and freely right after, and all on-set rage was immersed in the sea with #BappaMorya Himself. :)
You will see here three of my long time secret weapons - Art Magician Shamim Khan and his genius lieutenant Swapnil Uplekar; costume conjuror Sachin Lovalekar and his incredible lieutenant Prajakta Kore; and the crazy maniac of sound design Kaamod Kharade.
Arun Fulara is the reason my expletives appear un-bleeped in the film. He likes to make me look like the villain that i secretly am!

Baba really proud of you ❤️ लाल बाग के राजा के रियल लोकेशन पर शूट कर लेना, करोड़ों रुपए बचा लिए भाई साहब, ❤️🎉 जब मैं यह मूवी देख रहा था. मुझे उस दिन देखकर लगा कि कम से कम नहीं तो 10-15 करोड़ रुपए सिर्फ इस सीन में डाल दिए गए किंतु जब मेकिंग देखी मजा आ गया... ❤️
