Leo focusing on 1 guy instead of 5 different sword characters is helping him out a ton. When he's locked in he looks like he can beat anyone.

This is why people who say Leo is washed are so funny to me. They seem to forget that HE WAS THAT DUDE for a LOOONG time.
@@devoidgod92people just call him washed because he’s not the undisputed #1 anymore. He’s much less consistent now but when he plays well he plays REALLY well
I'd still put prime Leo joker against anyone and I don't think it's close. Tweek is also one that has never really performed consistently but on form, I think he's an easy top 3.
FP2 and some awful character buffs knocked him out from consistency more than anything else.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Spargo meltdown as bad as he did in Grand Ginals. Leo just started suffocating him and he was getting desperate. Good stuff to Leo, super glad to see him bounce back from Genesis! He’s not quite back to form yet but hopefully this is his year

The timing was funny because a few minutes prior he was watching Bloom v Oryon. And Bloom was constantly crouching under Wolf laser that set! He used a lot of run up crouch into d-tilt too, it was a huge part of his neutral
I think Leo uses crouch the best, especially for hurtbox shifting, but other players definitely use it well too

Im telling you man, just like how Leo figured out Ult way faster than everyone else at the start and was #1 for the longest time, now that everyone caught up and quite a few surpassed, hes grinding again and his gonna reel everyone back in. The crouching and walk movement, overall patience, and ability to enter MK sexo mode (aka doesnt get hit for 2 full minutes and gets himself a 2 stock lead) is gonna mean he makes a mean comeback in 2024

Leo is returning to form. I'm not just saying this because of his results--I'm purely referring to how his gameplay looks. Watching him in this tournament, if it wasn't for nerfed Palutena and buffed Cloud, I could've easily mistaken it for 2019 gameplay.

Game 5 Leo is becoming the most terrifying I've seen him. He cashes in his reads. Just how he played against Raflow game 5 has me shook. Him playing against Sparg0 made Cloud look like a mid tier
That’s because people are so afraid to edge guard cloud for some reason, mkleo is one of the few people that takes advantage of his average recovery and avoids limit.

@@DJSerpent I'd argue Sparg0 *is* scary. Pros even say he's a different beast to fight in person. All the more reason Leo asserting his dominance is so freaking impressive after Sparg0 left their rivalry to compete with Japan for top player while Leo was figuring himself out.
I think it's safe to say he's really getting a handle on something. Just gotta improve his matchup vs Japan himself now

In matchup's he's comfortable in, Leo still looks like the best player on the planet. I think with him not focusing as hard on the game he's been a lot easier to catch off guard, but he obviously still has it. The way he plays against Spargo just feels like a hunter pursuing its prey
My man is up 3-1 in games rn against him this year, when he couldn't even beat the guy last year, that definitely is some good improvement from his part for sure

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like Raflow uses a ProGCC based on the cord and the GameCube controller icon on the disconnect screen. I guess it wasn't reliable enough when it counted...
And it was indeed the TO's decision to drop the stock, not the player's. I agree with that policy as it's the only way to make it truly fair and doesn't leave room for players to face public criticism for their decision. The TOs might face such criticism, but as a TO myself, taking that is just part of the job.

Letting limit run out is probably better than using limit blade beam in this matchup. Since Joker can use counter to either get Arsene for basically free or reflect it with minimal risk if he has Arsene, there is basically no benefit to it. The exception would be that it forces Joker to be ready for the option at longer ranges when Cloud has limit, but the opponent should always be ready to react to blade beam as soon as the sword man turns blue.
Not saying it’s the best use of limit to let it run out, but no risk no reward is better than high risk low reward.

Crazy fact this is Leo’s first b tier event or higher event win since 9 months ago at wavedash. And by extension his first major win since Genesis 9 which was a year ago which is crazy. The thing that blew my mind the most is that there were many upsets that slayed champions including Marss, bassmage, skyjay, Neo, and, Tarik to name a few but it’s not all of them but these were some upsets that sticked in my mind.

I wasn’t a Leo fan at his prime; I hated having one person win everything. As time has passed though, I’ve learned to appreciate his Joker more and more. A good Leo dub I can be excited for is something I’ve waited a while for, hopefully he can put himself back on the map for top 5 again. I do also like how much it looks like his Joker has improved, I love the gun chips he’s been doing since last year’s Genesis and I always felt he didn’t use Nair enough in the past for how good the move is.

You know Mkleo fell off when we celebrate his first major win of 2024 😂😂😂. Tbh, I'd tell people to not make a big deal out of it if it were me.
I think it's pretty disingenuous to say Leo "fell off." His results definitely did, but I don't think it's because he started playing significantly worse or anything. Everyone else just got really freaking good. You discredit the entire top level scene when you say dumb shit like this.
I think people also underestimate the Arsene nerf as well that and the fact that when Leo was winning everything constantly with joker, none of the super broken dlc characters were released.

@@trombonegamer14there’s a difference between saying he fell off vs he’s washed. Falling off is a correct term to use, he’s still insanely good but no longer at the top. But he is NOT washed, he’s still probably the most fundamentally sound player on the planet in my opinion.
