I never tire of seeing the white pigeons take to the air in a large group like that. I get the 'goose bumps' watching them fly up and up....it's almost Spiritual to me. My flock is now gone, as I am confined to a wheelchair at a nursing home. The Holy Spirit appears as a white dove, perhaps that's in the back of my mind and is so inspiring for me. Thank you for that video. God Bless you and your flock.
Homing white pigeons (which is what we see in this video) can make it back home from 100's of miles away within hours or a couple of days. White doves, on the other hand, become lunch for hawks or if adaptable enough they join feral pigeons in cities & bridges.
Michael Mcandrews do you have any White homing Pigeons available for sale? I live in Moses Lake, WA. My landlord recently let me have pigeons at my apartment. So I'm looking for someone in the state to get some quality birds in a few months.
Incredibly cruel. Many of thr birds in these releases do not go back home, and are killed by hawks or other predators. I actually have a pet dove, who was release that didn't make it home. Horrible to use animals for entertainment like this.
People can argue about whether they are pigeons or doves (they belong to the same family!), but I agree with you! It's a cruel and stupid custom IMHO. Completely human-centered; no real empathy for the birds that may or may not return.
@@Automedon2 Pigeons and doves are the same thing, Google it. Shows how little you know. Here, I'll help educate you: "Although the terms “pigeon” and “dove” have no technical definition, today we tend to categorize the smaller species as doves and the larger ones as pigeons." And thanks for asking about my dove, she's great. She only goes into her cage at night to keep her safe. During the day, she flies around the house in her flyper and loves to hang out with me and share meals with us.
@@Automedon2 She sleeps in a cage at night, many birds outside do too like chickens and pigeons. Keeps them safe from predators. Do you know anything at all about birds? It doesn't seem so. Mike Johe he speaks in the common people lingo, they wouldn’t grasps the white pigeon release concept, the common concept is white dove release, at lease in western culture

Thank you so much for the kind words, and blessings to you.
Wow, what a cool-looking trailer for the birds!
Thank you, I had it custom made and love it. As I am going to retire, I will be selling the trailer.
@@michaelmcandrews7402 i hope that doesn't mean you'll get rid of the birds too 😥
@@NE_Pigeons Yes, its time, but I'm not in a big hurry. I want to spend more time showing my 68 El Camino and 69 Camaro.
@@michaelmcandrews7402 what bloodline are your white Homer's? How much will you sell them for? Where are you located?
Thanks all of you
WOW SUPER BEAUTIFUL WHITE DOVES.
Thank you, I appreciate it.
And does anyone know how well these birds survive out in the wild once they're released?
They go back home, not to the wild!
Thanks for reply. So, they're trained to go back home? Would that be true for anyone providing events like these?
The birds actually fly back home. they are all trained to do that.
Happy to hear this. Makes sense, but was still not 100% about it.

Pigeons, not doves. Doves are smaller.
Alan Poole That's what I was thinking...
Alan Poole all doves are smaller than pigeons idk why but makes them cuter 🕊
Them is pigeons white homers
@HahThatsWhatSheSaid Correct!
They belong to the same family: Columbidae. See my reply below. The difference is more linguistic than taxonomic.
