Thankfully I've never need to model a terrain but have been always curious as to how to do it so thank you. Perfectly and patiently explained.

After drawing the contours, is there a way to turn the model into a technical contour model? You know, the rice-terrace effect? After hitting "Terrain", I went to "Parameters > Form > Layered Solid" hoping it would work, but it turned into a jagged mess rather than the rice-terrace effect.
Only other way I can think of to model this effect is to extrude those terraces individually like platforms...
    Suggestions?
