The gun barrel scene is used perfectly in Casino Royale it was well thought out. The way they executed it rite after his 1st kill made it feel like this is the beginning of MI6 Agent 007 James Bond. Yea they didn’t use it how it’s been done since the franchises inception of the series but then again no other Bond film had been about Bond at the beginning of him receiving his 00 status.
I love the bit when you begin talking about the theme song and title sequence only for the theme from the Charles K. Feldman Casino Royale to be playing in the background. I dig continuity nods like that!
“Do Over” semantically sounds like before attempts were failures. “Reboot” sounds more like a refresh. They keep Bond present day due to the product placement.
What I've realised over the years is Hollywood is using the wrong word when it comes to "gritty", "realistic" movies. A lot of people were saying the same thing about the new Batman movie. The word they're looking for is "grounded". Batman and James Bond are fictional epitomes and power fantasies for young boys/men.
I'll tell you what this movie did. It inspired a 40 year old woman who had NO prior interest in this character or series to buy a ticket. I LOVED this movie and still do.
Dalton was the best 007, in my opinion, followed by Craig. Both are based directly on Ian Fleming's Bond from the novels, not the womanizing super-hero of Sean Connery and Roger Moore. Both have the piercing, blue-eyed stares of a cold, but vulnerable, calculating anti-hero Assassin/spy, as well as excellent baritone voices, especially Dalton who was a trained Shakespearean actor in his early days.
Craig had amazing potential, I loved Casino Royale and I still think it's the best, his performance was really flawless too. I What disappointed me was that his films started getting crappy (apart from Skyfall which was great) and they never really developed his character, he kind of just stayed as a thug, he didn't get any of the wit or class which Dalton had in spades. Not to mention the way the writers tried to connect his films in Spectre was severely damaging to his era. Just awful.
They Kept Judy I believe to have a familiar face for the Bronsanites..I mean ,Remembering when I went to see this. I felt Relieved in a way. Oh that Lady is still M. Ok I know her fell at home. Whilst getting to know the new Bond.
Casino Royale was done in the 60s in a comedy spoof but this reboot was excellently done . From the screenplay to the music but the pick of both director and Bond made it click . Campbell knows how to do action films and this film moves along quick and Bond follows the pieces from the construction site to the villa to the airport is non stop action though once on the train the film goes to the casino and changes gear but after that the third act of the film slows down to Bonds romance turns fatal though ends well and the audience is satified .
People often consider Casino Royale as a good 007 film, Quantum of Solace bad, Skyfall good, Spectre bad... -So is Craig's next film going to be good again?
I liked Dalton but this film was great the rest of Craig under Mendes directing turned Bond into a soap oprea since by the 3rd film he was old and wore out ? How since this was the beginning of Bonds career . And Spectre was total crap . Glad Mendes is gone and Craig is too old and dull and his looks dont fit the part he more of hechman #3 than Bond
@Naquin Green I understand adding dimension to the character but this was a reboot as Casino Royale was Bond getting his 00 , so this was the start of the run but this was the third film and he's now old , injured and a drunk . The opening action scene and the others lacked excitement as the end was dull as all he had was a shotgun when he was at MI 6 he could had grabbed some automatic weapons when he stole the car . Hey many liked this film and been a fan of the character since 1964 and seen many revolutions of the character, I just never thought Mendes was as good as Martin Campbell as a action director. Im more concerned over this new film with Bond being the butt of the jokes as this totally demeans the character as he gets replaced by a woman. So I can live with Skyfall.
Skyfall was a rip-off of "London Has Fallen" not original at all, and why would a villain expend such effort to kill an old lady who was close to the grave on her own????? A lot of henchmen died for such a piss poor payoff.
One of the major reasons for the wet pavement is: continuity errors. They shoot a portion of the night scene, then come back 5 days later to shoot the next portion... if it rains inbetween, they'll have a contiunity error. Hence, the wetting. :)
I was not aware that bulldozers come with bulletproof glass. Live and let learn. The cinemas are never going to open again, this lockdown is permanent. The new Bond movie will have to go straight to Netflix.
There is another character I would like to see brought to Movies. Nick Stone. Book Series. Written by an Andy McNab. The Character Nick is a former SAS Soldier. Who had been in the military since he was about 16 .And is presently a contractor for M16. They use him for the bad job's the Job's they think he could die from.. Each book Starts out when Nick was a soldier in SAS with guys who were and or are kind of only family he knew. Afterwards The Book cuts to present day with his off balance personal life and working for MI6. Check them out if it sounds like something you may like. The first 5 books are the best... I seen article years ago that there were going to be films. But never seen anything happen.
Cheering for the bomb maker because Bond is chasing him in a Bulldozer? He is a bomb maker. Don't cheer for a dude making bombs to hurt innocent people. But I kind of get what you are saying.
"An essentially nice person." Nice people don't marry career criminals and stay with them, nor do they just so happen to never meet any other nice people. The world is full of kind and moral people, and the screwed up people avoid them like the plague, then blame them for never being there for them.
Casino Royal was great, the best one of Craig’s bond movies. The rest of the Craig films are eh okay, with exception of Quantum of Solace being the worst.
Its just the first letter of the surname of the person who is in the post (of head of the 00 section). It just so happens that all the bosses have had surnames beginning with M (Mawsley, Mansfield, Mallory etc.)
He over does things. Besides the fights are too many.. The story is little.. The plot became cheesy. All of his films fell short after the famous Casino Royale. Skyfall was meh just the movie shooting was good. Story yet was mediocre. Spectre was dumb. I bet Peirce must be having the last laugh.

Daniel Craig and Pierce Brosnan are my 2 favorite James Bond actors. But Casino Royale is the BEST James Bond movie ever.
Youre young thats y. Watch Sean Connery's 1st 3 bonds then you'll think otherwise. And watch Dalton in license to kill.

"Dalton was doing gritty way back when and he got dumped on for it." Never have truer words been said. I'd pick Dalton over Craig any day of the week.
Cinnoman I agree. Some of the Craig films maybe better than the Dalton Bond films, but IMO Dalton is the Bond I like.

And don’t forget the gas truck in airport scene in Casino Royale it’s the same truck they use in Licence to Kill..😉
Nice use of the "Imperial Echoes" March for the Bond Bathroom Montage. 😉🇬🇧

Hope so, make Daniel Craig's last bond entry the best

In Bond films , dubbing and such as you pointed out is a normal thing we allow after 50 years .
@Dr. Mercury true!!
Will we ever get a Spectre review?

Mediterranean women are the best!
@@RighteousBrother Absolutely. Glad you agree. They are some of the sexiest, most beautiful and passionate women God ever created.
Is it possible that James Bond is a code name???? Just a thought.
No watch Calvin Dysons video
Bond theme was played at the end
NICE ANALYSIS!! 🔥😎
It’s not a rebooted it’s multi alternative universe..how’s that? It’s kinda ahead when recently Marvel and DC and others shout a lot about it..lol

The bulldozer and the whole construction site scene really doesn't gel with the rest of the movie. That part was rather silly.
