It’s daunting to hear how well this was handled as a chronic illness patient in the United States. The way the people in Japan were connected to the people in Chernobyl to share information would be hugely frowned upon by doctors here, and probably even ridiculed. It’s extremely discouraged to learn more about your illness outside of appointments with them that aren’t even helpful. It’s hard to even just be diagnosed here with thyroid disease, and it’s well known that doctors from Ukraine are among the best in world for it because Chernobyl left so many people affected. The US would have just made that area extremely cheap to live in and called it a day.
Actually, you're right, for instance in MO. ---> Jana Elementary opened in 1970 and sits in the flood plain of Coldwater Creek, which was contaminated with radioactive waste generated from the production of atomic weapons in the 1940s and 50s. They still haven't done a thing about it as of today. They did shut the school down for a time. The government has known for decades and done nothing about it, but allowed the area to populate/grow!. Fourth, our funds help 3rd world countries and we americans benefit by turning a blind eye to indian children mining salt for 4 bucks a week. No health ins and a high mortality rate. And last, I can make an educated assumption that the repairs would work because in order to request them, the Smithsonian must put together a comprehensive report of expert evaluations on how to best make repairs. You can find videos of schools of the things, though the population is endangered. The largest risk is by local fisherman, who don't actually want them, but catch on accident. This is likely how they got their specimen, but hard to say for sure.
Why don’t companies make people wear gloves when handling food?! They go use those same hands to wipe feces from their butts and do stuff with their husbands and may not wash everything off before going back to packing your food. A surveyor found 33% of people had feces on their hands in the U.S. where handwashing is pushed. he didn’t check with a blue light for sexual matter. Because hands are used in such ways daily it should be the law to wear gloves. They have gloves that are just like an extra skin.

I’m native Canadian and you’d be shocked how many delicious things are traditional native foods/offerings/specialties. The one that shocks Canadians from the west coast (i have found personally through my friends I could be wrong) is that maple Syrup is a native “invention”. Also it’s less sweet than table syrup and way better than any other sweetener (all my opinion but hey I grew up in Quebec where most of the world’s maple syrup is made so most likely I’m hella biased). I know that my nation (Wendat) have made maple syrup since before the French arrived because we are one of the many nations who showed them how to do it. I’m all for proper labeling of maple syrup in our case because you can tell at a glance what’s real and what’s table syrup. I can see where the government can get too involved like in Mezcal, to the point that it changes tradition in favour of industry, and ultimately runs business out of using the name that belongs to them. Here in Canada my best example is going to stay maple syrup because it’s what I personally know more of, we have what are known as Sugar Shacks. Normally larger family owned farms that harvest more than just maple, most of them also sell and grow apples and strawberries since maple season isn’t all that long for the good stuff. But man sugar shacks tend to do it the old way. They’ll happily show you how they boil down the maple water and turn into syrup and even the best thing on earth. Fresh maple taffy. Boiling hot maple syrup poured on some fresh packed snow in strips, then the best part, they give you a wooden popsicle stick and you stab that cooling syrup and then roll it up (keep as much snow on there as possible I swear it’s seasoning. Don’t ask how just trust the expert) you can tell when it’s real and when it’s fake by the look, the colour and the taste.
The Smithsonian price tag is ghastly. It's cool we have a building full of all this old stuff, but if the vast majority is locked away from the public, then why is the public funding it? I'd like to see them set up smaller galleries and more traveling shows around the country. It would be ludicrous for an institution with a collection that large to not find a way to fund itself or turn a profit.
I agree with opening more locations for study and showings, but traveling shows is a great way to damage things that are more or less irreplaceable. I don't think that'd be a good idea....
Keep the young lady narrator that we hear on most of these segments like the Florida sea sponge. She has the right temperatment, inflection and voice quality that is pleasant to listen to that allows for closer attention to the video itself.

Under the same sky, life is unfair. They're trading life for $ 6 a day to cut the limestone. 😢
Yes so sad.
Wow there are some big sardines out there
This video was completely ruined by to many ads.
What ads? I pay for RUclips Premium.

@@JCar85$15 per month is worth more than your time then. Jokes on you
Seriously what's an ad? I consider premium as supporting the creators I watch and I also hate ads
Isn't it great that African American talent can make others rich. :)

I especially enjoyed the segment where they brought in a live Frankenstein monster and paraded him around the old historic town of Frankenmuth

Most venomous in the world
Whoopsie
The spines need to skin around it to be pressed down pretty hard for it to push it out, it's like a hypodermic needle, the skins so stiff that it'd be pretty hard to accidently jab yourself, also after so long the potency probably isn't that bad.

When I hear that they need 1 billion in repairs I think why do we send money all over the world but don’t take care of our own home.
This home belongs to many people but ultimately American Natives. Which Mexicans and South American have in their blood. Soooo...stop thinking about yourself and get educated.
Lo
There is an entire west wing episode devoted to this question. First, we dont send a billion or anything close. Second, doing what you suggested would be communism. Third, how do you know those repairs would qork or confer any benefit.
Fourth, our funds help 3rd world countries and we americans benefit by turning a blind eye to indian children mining salt for 4 bucks a week. No health ins and a high mortality rate. If we put that money towards american salt miners, get ready for salt being more expensive than cocaine. Besides, you sound like the type that likes living in a fox news bubble and doesnt mind other countries being in exteme poverty.
@@kumarg3598In 2021, the US spent $50 billion in foreign aid. It's a tiny portion of our federal budget but definitely still in the billions. Using US tax dollars to pay for US government run programs like the Smithsonian isn't communism. That's just having a functional tax system. And last, I can make an educated assumption that the repairs would work because in order to request them, the Smithsonian must put together a comprehensive report of expert evaluations on how to best make repairs. I do not personally need the knowledge to understand an expert is an expert. How do you know they wouldn't work?
Allen should take a pay cut. He was born with the silver spoon
That citrus greening segment really hit me with sadness. I will keep praying for the scientists who are cross breeding or genetically modifying to make a greening resistant orange tree to solve this problem! In the Holy Name of Christ Jesus, I pray to you Father God, help illuminate the solutions in the minds of the people trying to solve the citrus greening problem. I pray blessings & healing over all who are negatively affected. A solution will emerge & a better way forward will come in time. Hang in there & never give up!
That cheesecake company chose to fire a bunch of people instead of changing their recipe. Idk about that being a solution...
Nice info world wide!
"we thought the species was entirely extinct, but one single fish was found in africa!"
Soooo we killed it and dumped it in a jar
*drops on floor* whoopsie
A. They aren't extinct. B. Even if that was the last one, they absolutely should have kept it as a specimen. What else should they have done? It's an incredible specimen and is of great use to researchers.
You can find videos of schools of the things, though the population is endangered.
The largest risk is by local fisherman, who don't actually want them, but catch on accident. This is likely how they got their specimen, but hard to say for sure.
Amazing!
I can't go to a Museum and not think about the harm that has been done to all those animals and cultures.
Concerning “citrus, green”, try planting apple trees, every ten orange trees. The apple trees will naturally create an insecticide.
They have gloves that are just like an extra skin.
because no gloves needed, when making something with a higher alcohol content than hand sanitizer.
maybe the horse should wear booties
get an immune system....wood ya.
@@kerrymarris4260 you didn't read the comment. Next time you poop, don't wipe just spray hand sanitizer on your bum and see if that handles it.
It's not just sanitation, it's also the yuck factor.
So...the govt can set up endowments for stuff like thos but they wont do the same for Homeless Veterans?! What the heck is wrong with this country?
24:11 - he has a point =D
edit:
26:53 - I love how he introduces himself to us =) That is how you know he enjoys his work !
8:14 what's that ? 😏🥦 😂
That's great that they're digitizing stuff, I'm sure their library linked with the likes of A.I can help humanity for the better.

Can you do the silk cocoons indoor using LED lights that mimic daylight sunlight? That might avoid bees from getting them.
