The theming, attention to detail, friendliness of the staff members, ride offering, landscaping, history and everything else makes Efteling so unique and amazing. Droomvlucht was my favourite ride there, I just haven't seen a ride like it anywhere else!
Fun fact; the voice of the royal footman at Symbolica is voiced by Jeroen Verheij who is the main designer for Dance Macabre (and many other Efteling buildings), he also worked as an actor in the park for many years
37:00 In the first preshow, this is what is being said roughly translated: Narrator: In the mid-eighteenth century, waves of violence swept our Brabant Kempen and the Limburg countryside. Hordes of unscrupulous thugs marched through our peaceful avenues, plundering and committing arson. They called themselves "The Goat Riders", after shadowy air spirits, who, according to a medieval myth, rode on goats and swarmed through the dark night sky and could even enter closed houses. Marie: The Goat Riders, brood of vipers, that's it! They must eradicate them root and branch, they must! Young Peer: Yes, that's for sure Marie, that's for sure! Villager: I heard that last night they burned down Arjan the though's house and took everything of value! Trees: Oh yes? It's not true, is it? Marie: Breed of vipers, that's it! Trees: They say that their eyes glow in the dark and that they are so quick that fate will strike you like thunder! Marie: Bullshit, I tell you! Underhanded mob that enslaves the common people with base pranks and bribery. Let them rob the landlord and they will come home from a rude awakening! He has enough farmhands to teach them some morals and to unlearn his craft! Narrator: The myth tells that this devilish army of Goat Riders met its end in a gruesome battle, high in the heavens above the Postel Abbey. For sixty long years the gang exercised a true reign of terror over the rural population. Their satanic guild mark, a goat's leg, filled everyone with trepidation and fear. *thunderclap and the sign is revealed* Young Peer: Cursed be those Goatriders, the parasites of this region and Hugo in particular! Marie: That Hugo is a godless fool. With his long black mane he looks like a devil. When he is around you are not sure of your life. Trees: Not to mention property and goods! Marie: Even the latches on the trap door won't stop him! Trees: Oh Lord, who can deliver us from such tormentors?! Young Peer: A blasphemous bandit, that's for sure, but remember: "Pride comes before a fall"! Villager: That may be Young Peer, but for now he doesn't care about it! Marie: He wasn't any good as a youngster. Always against the grain. You already saw it coming that he would become a rascal. Narrator: Hear hear the story of Hugo, Hugo van den Loonsche Duynen, who joined this evil pack of robbers. A man without any compassion, possessed of unbridled greed and greed for money. Hugo, the Goat Rider...
37:11 and this is what Hugo himself has to say in the second room: This house, this damned house... it's like hell. That one cursed evening in the Belgian Kempen... the sun was low and we looked for beds for the night, but there was no sign of any villages. But suddenly, in the distance... a large building. Postel Abbey we knew. We galloped the horses, and when the sun had set, we arrived at the chapel. There was light behind the windows and it was very quiet. No monkish singing or pious mumbling. Behind the chapel door there are golden chalices and silver candlesticks for the taking, hahaha! With this thought we rammed the door! Not a human being.... On the altar the spoils glittered. The candles were lit... strange. My men broke the sacrificial block, and I myself emptied the altar. And then, suddenly, a slender hand on my shoulder. I looked back, and behind me stood a young woman, her eyes full of fire. All saw her, and the ringing stopped. She seemed... to float in her long white dress. For a moment I felt something of fear, and she spoke to me: "You, Hugo van den Loonsche Duynen, you are desecrating this house here. So repent and do not bring down the wrath of the Lord upon you..." (that part in " " is also said in a creaapy woman's voice) But me, I overcame my fear; taunted her away with a scornful laugh and roughly pushed her back. I called for the men to go and saw that she dissolved into nothingness... A day later I reached my house. I was shocked: on top of the facade was... her! The lady from the chapel! Her arms waved, as if swaying in the wind. I heard her voice, as if it were floating in my head: "Nowhere in your own house, nor anywhere in the world, will you find rest or peace, now that you have desecrated God's house... not until a noble man If the pure conscience of a newborn child enters your dwelling place, then you will find peace in your house and in your heart..." (again, the part in " " is also said in a creaapy woman's voice) That spell, my horrible fate, has not been broken until now... Enter with a clean conscience soul, so that the doom may fall from this house, and my soul may obtain the rest that I so desperately desire...
Great video! I am Dutch and Efteling is my favourite theme park. Every time I go it is magical. Rides in Efteling are not the most intense, but the immersion is flawless because of theming and backstory. Baron 1898 has a rather flimsy backstory for Efteling standards (it is a cursed mine) but the way they managed to get it an exciting story is really impressive. A rough translation of the song at 12:15: "you have been warned, you disobedient. We white women guarding the gold will sabotage your descent! Well, that is completely true :) And the fog effect you get down the first hill is also part of the theme: you have experienced the white women down below. And I can go on and on about the theming, it is one of the main reasons to go to this park. If you want to do thrill rides, go somewhere else. If you want to be immersed in really well worked out stories, Efteling will be pure magic. The magic starts at the entrance (the biggest straw roofed building in the world) and ends only when you leave the park at the end of the day. And if you book a room in the Efteling hotel, it will just continue in your room. My personal favourite ride are the Flying Dutchman and Droomvlucht. The Flying Dutchman's darkride is worked out so well, you really do feel alone at sea just before the thunderstorm. Droomvlucht just takes you on a relaxing ride through a really beautiful fantasy world. Villa Volta is also still going strong (since 1996), the effect of getting upside down is real. Have you noticed how the ride movement and the music are working together? It is really well done. Can't wait for Danse Macabre to open. If you like Efteling, you will also like Toverland in Sevenum (NL). Not as immersive and themed as Efteling, but still fun and a lot of great rides.
Both are on our list to visit asap 😁🙏🏻 We prefer complete immersion over thrill anyday so Efteling truly did leave us in awe! Flying Dutchman was incredible! You really did feel like you were alone at sea for sure, especially in that heavy fogged section just before the shipwreck graveyard! Truly the best theme park I've visited so far for sure - MAGICAL!!
Brilliant video thank you and i adored Droomvlucht which i preferred to Symbolica which we had bad tech issues involving a 20minute ride 😆Efteling is truly magical and blows all UK parks out the water
I coudln't believe it when I was finally at the entrance to Efteling a couple of years back. Our trip had been delayed for 2 years due to Covid so it made finally getting there even more special. Going back next year.
Ahh amazing! It's such a wonderful feeling when somewhere you have only seen in pics goes from being on a screen to right in front of you isn't it?! :-D
@@TPIOfficial awesome! I reccomend eating at the flaming feather restaurant there. And perhaps visit during halloween to experience their amazing haunted houses.
23:30 You can take the bags with you on Python because of the way the track runs. The loopings and the screwdrivers make the bag stay on the floor of the train. I believe they explained this somewhere in the queue

was it a schoolteacher though? In the Netherlands when we go with a school to a themepark, they create groups with parents who volunteer to guide a group of kids through the park. So maybe it was a rude parent who was guiding the kids. I'm a teacher myself and had the same experience last year. A parent volunteered and the rule was (for that themepark) to not go on the water area of the park. I teach 4 to 6 years old and not everyone can properly swim. What did the parent do... He took the kids to the water area... My mind was absolutely blown! You have the responsibility of other people's kids, set an example and this is what you do?! The father is not allowed on any other schooltrips, but sadly those kind of parents walk around sadly enough
Vila volta is based on the dutch foklore the buckriders. You can look it up if you want to Also in the preshows of the baron there was this male voice storing telling. The person whos voice they used was Paul van Gorcum. Who played the baron in the dutch tv show bassie and adriaan
I've said it before in other blogs but the haunted house Villa Volta is the very first of this type made. It is the original. All others came after it and are copies.
@TPIOfficial okay, then me and my friend were next to you guys in the line for Baron😅 we were saying how cool the gopros and stuff are cus we love themepark vlogs🤣 hope you had a good time!
De vliegende hollander was explicitly designed such that people wouldn't typically get soaked during the 'splash'. So aside from unfavourable wind-conditions you should stay pretty much dry.
We'd definitely still rather have been at Efteling. As soon as Hyperia has been fixed and is back open to the public on a reliable basis then we'd make the journey south :-)
These people are very easily impressed... they enter the park, its half a construction yard, big crane and all and it is already "unbelievable and magical"... first ride of the day breaks down and its a "great start of the day". Well with that attitude my garden is a top tier destination, I'll be your tour guide.
Idk for sure but it could be that the childeren of that teacher have a autism pass wich means they are allowed to cut in line for special needs people.
Usually we (I have a child with special needs) use the exit of a ride for that. Most parks do that so we can avoid a line with people (extra stress). We then wait on a quiet (safe) spot until a staff member comes to guide us on the ride. But in fairness, I'm not sure what the rules at Efteling are.
Gonna have to disagree on it being rude for kids to go ahead on the Symbolica pre-show. Makes total sense to me to let children go in front so they can actually see the show, and since the lines split afterwards it takes you 5 extra seconds of wait time.
The theming, attention to detail, friendliness of the staff members, ride offering, landscaping, history and everything else makes Efteling so unique and amazing. Droomvlucht was my favourite ride there, I just haven't seen a ride like it anywhere else!

🤩😍🙌🏻 we can't wait!!!
where can I find day 3 of Efteling?
There are only two vlogs we're afraid sorry 😞👍🏻 There will however be a review video dropping soon though 😉
On a hot the waterlevel wil higher and by the piranha ther is more water in the track
Maybe a weird question but were you there the 22nd on Wednesday?😅
Yes we were, why? 😂
@TPIOfficial okay, then me and my friend were next to you guys in the line for Baron😅 we were saying how cool the gopros and stuff are cus we love themepark vlogs🤣 hope you had a good time!
@@mseb3909aha sweet lol! Yeah had an amazing time thank you yes! Hope you did too 😁🙏🏻
Haha the bit where you say python is smooth on ride, isn’t even the new track. That is still the original. New track starts at the big drop
Ahh okay cool. We were unsure if it was just part of the ride or the whole ride 😁👍🏻
@@TPIOfficial that is also why the hill so so slow, it’s the original one😄 the new track is also visually different from the original bits
@@robbystoned now you mention it we can see that actually lol. Still an incredibly fun and surprisingly forceful ride though, we loved it! 😀
I never get wet at de vliegende hollander but de last time I got completely fucking soaked I guess it depends on the wind😅
😂😂🙌🏻
De vliegende hollander was explicitly designed such that people wouldn't typically get soaked during the 'splash'. So aside from unfavourable wind-conditions you should stay pretty much dry.
Efteling is a great park, but I would suggest a better low light onride cam, your loosing out on a lot with the underexposed material
Yeah GoPro's aren't amazing sadly. We're looking into better options as we speak 😁👍🏻
Did you stick your bag under your legs i cant see where else you put it
Yes, barring Baron you had to take your bag on with you 👍🏻
Yeah people are like that we love being nice and wave to random poeple
❤️🙏🏻 we felt so welcomed!!
❤❤❤
Still doesn't beat Hyperia opening day!
😂😂 have you been to a UK theme park lately? You think that's bad? You haven't seen anything yet! 😂😂👍🏻
You totally miss the point of this video and you're extremely condescending
If someone jumps the line in front of you, act more like the Dutch and thus direct and call the teacher or whoever it is out on his or her behaviour.
Pushing past people in a queue line is never acceptable no matter who you are or what your reason may be. It's inconsiderate and selfish behaviour.
@@TPIOfficial Did I say otherwise?
if that happened to me in a queue I would definitely say something
I don't care who it is
and if they give a big mouth they will get one back
I am actually embarrassed to say this as I’m a 43 year old man…….😳😳😳😳😳but….. first
Haha love it lol! :-)
Idk for sure but it could be that the childeren of that teacher have a autism pass wich means they are allowed to cut in line for special needs people.
Ahh okay.
In that case they would have a disability pass visible on them. Was that the case?
@@vortexico4788 they don't have to have it visable. I have autism and when i got the document i only had to show it when they were doubting.
@@avanbueren83 i think the same. I don't have a lot of issues from autism anymore so it's been a while when i used it in the efteling
Ik laat ze gewoon struikelen door voetje lift
Gonna have to disagree on it being rude for kids to go ahead on the Symbolica pre-show. Makes total sense to me to let children go in front so they can actually see the show, and since the lines split afterwards it takes you 5 extra seconds of wait time.
We have no issue with them going forward, however we do with being shoved aside and forcefully held back without asking so they can. 👍🏻
Looks similar to Phantasialand
😁
Nah, completely different parks
@@leonpennings7596 It looks similar with the theming not been to Efterling yet but Phantasialand visited
