I have that one and just listened to the Phil Collin's "In The Air Tonight" song that's on there. That drum roll about halfway through sounds almost like the drummer is in the room. It sounds better than the version on the actual Phil Collins CD.
This is definitely awesome because I'm a 80's baby 80's music was quality on t.v.,and radio 80's is my childhood memories I love videos like this because cds is still alive and well physical media music is always king I got to rocky 4 soundtrack on cassette and the blues Brothers on cd and vinyl if I was in your hometown I be digging for cds with you I be coming out with 19 or 20 cds for the whole day amazing video Michael cds will continue to thrive let's buy more cds peace out
I regularly buy CDs from private advertisements. Here in Europe everyone wants to get rid of their CDs and DVDs. prices fluctuate around 0.50 and 1.00 euros per piece. Last week I came across a soundtrack from a movie "Maid in Manhattan". Never heard of it... it's an American movie from 2002 apparently. It's a mystery to me how the CD got here in Belgium
@joerogan9554 both of you are incorrect. Nothing wrong with a library. Borrowing is fine. But why? I'm buying CD's or streaming. I mean if you wanted to borrow a new album...I guess? But I stream everything. I buy used CDs. Rare stuff or stuff not on streaming. Lots of metal etc
I'm only 50 miles from Denver. Need to check theses places out. We lost Independent Records here in C. Springs last year. An iconic place no longer with us.
I sell used cd,s have thousands and nothing over $ 3:50 US. Just sold about 100 yesterday at the markets. Examples Floyd, Stones, Eno, Hassel, Big Star, Iggy, lots of trip hop, ambient, punk, 60,s 70,s rock.
That list of best 80's soundtacks, is that from the point of _collectability_ , or quality of music? Missing are definitely: - Blade Runner (1984, OST by Vangelis) - Local Hero (1983, OST by Mark Knopfler) - The Mission (1986, OST by Ennio Morricone) - Koyaanisqatsi (1982, OST by Philip Glass) - Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984, OST by Joe Hisaishi) - Dune (1984, OST by Toto & Brian Eno) - Paris, Texas (1984, OST by Ry Cooder) - The Last Emperor (1987, OST by Ryuichi Sakamoto, David Byrne, Cong Su)
2nd And Charles is basically another Hastings - despite being owned by Books-A-Million (No, seriously!). You can find some good stuff in there if you have the patience and time to sift through everything.
I'm still trying to get hold of the score soundtrack for the first Terminator film, but unfortunatly i have only seen it at ridiculous prices in the UK. I need to get some more 80's soundtracks, i already have Beverly Hills Cop. There are some good 90's soundtracks as well like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, beavis and butthead do america, The Crow, from dusk till dawn, reservoir dogs and the list could go on.
@@audioarkitekts Where I live in the UK I only know of two second hand shops that sell pre-owned cds so the chances are low of it being in there. That only leaves somewhere like eBay and that's where the stupid prices come in, I just can't justify a pre-owned cd costing more then what it would of cost when it was new and first came out. Now if it was signed by Arnie or James Cameron I'd kind of understand but seeing as it's not I refuse to pay that much.
I worked for Wherehouse Music and movies fun job I was a mgr I got so much free promo stuff even bill board cutouts I learned about so many genres country being my least favorite also met many artists as the company would have meet the artist and concerts on the property like Madonna Boy George Milli Vanilli George Michael Janet Jackson and so many more I miss those days😊👋🏼
Vintage Stock here is the best and foremost. Tulsa has quite a few stores besides Vintage Stock and are planned trips since it is a 2 hour drive yet well worth it!
That ghostbusters has an altered back insert. Look out! It might just be a cd-r. It's stupid to buy something like that when other pressings are as common as the day is long.
While I'm not into soundtracks from any period, but for general CD hunting I will hit the used section of Amazon or Half-Price books (forgot about them). I have a thrift store that carries a lot of CDs, but it is kind of out of my way. We also have a store called Book-Off which is a used bookstore. However, prices are hit and miss there for CDs. Sometimes you can find a good deal and sometimes it is only $1 or $2 less than new, which is not worth the time it takes to go through their CDs. While they are in alphabetical order by artist, the volume is so much that it would take about 4 hours to go through and many of the CDs are popular rejects. I only found one CD on my list in about 4 visits.
I used to live in Denver, "Wax Trax" was my favorite place to go buy CD's or what ever your preference is, it was one of those wall to wall music places, T-shirts too!
I would definitely add the original 80's Miami Vice soundtrack to the list. Oh what a fantastic time growing up in the 80's.
I think that’s another great one! ☝️

Thank you my friend! It was a lot of fun and I had a great time.
Meguires fine cut cleaner for cars, saved a lot of cds for me ❤
I’ll have to try that

For the most part I am satisfied hearing the video synchronized soundtrack while watching the movie
Bro, just go to the library and borrow them, no need to spend money
Dude.. only Homeless go to the library. You must be over 50 years old.

@@joerogan9554 May be where you live libraries have been built exclusively for homeless people. 😂😂😂😂
Sadly, many libraries are taking the music CDs away from their collections. At this moment, you can find mainly audiobooks instead of music CDs.
Racist
Barnes And Noble has a arbitrary catalog, all they sell are latest reissues and remasters (almost all loudness war related)
I miss thise times...
so do I
Me too!!

I need the Weird Science soundtrack ;)
Two 80's cd soundtracks - I own come highly recommended 'She's Having A Baby' and 'Some Kind Of Wonderful'.
Those are great suggestions

👍
Thank you! 🙏

Man! I love this type of video. Please keep doing CD finds!
This is definitely the energy I’m looking for, I think next time I may do more of a walkthrough with the camera.

Thank you Tony

I found the Terminator soundtrack at 2nd and Charles but it was in bad shape

Was The Blues Brothers a Silverface Atlantic or the Red and Green remastered Atlantic issue?
Electric Dreams is a great underrated soundtrack as well as the Lost Boys soundtrack.
Those are two great ones!

That’s good that you have options though
Since "Repo Man" is on your list, then you also need "Return of the Living Dead" & "Suburbia".
Those are some great suggestions
Thanks for the video. Good ideas. Church fairs and yard sales for me locally. The thrill of the CD hunt.

I do like Wax Trax, I’ll feature them in a future project!
Big trouble in little china is a great 80s soundtrack as well pretty hard to find in some cases
I’ll have to keep my eyes out for it
Nice haul Mike. I need to get out and buy some CDs. I've been doing too much streaming. It feels lazy. LOL
It’s always fun to go out and hunt! I was feeling the same way, which is what inspired this video.
thank u sir
You’re very welcome! 😉
