Lindens - the honey symbol of summer

In Ukraine, July is the warmest month of the year with frequent thunderstorms and downpours. The Ukrainian name of the month comes from the Prosl. *lip-ьn-jь "time of linden blossoming", which is a derivative of lipa "linden tree". This ancient name is associated with the exuberant flowering of linden trees and the period of collecting linden honey (July). So let's find out what's so special about these beloved and culturally significant trees. And why exactly did they receive such an honor.
