    I am impressed with how credible you seem, I feel like I can put my trust in you. I will be saving your number when it comes time. I'm a skeptic so I'm going to ask a question, which yes I think you have covered in your videos.
    I am still working, may retire at 66 or 67, and have Employer-provided insurance. So if I understand this correctly- I wait to enroll in Part B until I know when my employer insurance will end. This is the part I need confidence in - When I sign up for B, I will sign up for Medigap, and for Medigap, there will be no medical exams required and no penalty? Do I understand correctly?
    I'm skeptical because I had a bunch of brokers contact me and one was getting me signed up for September. I feel like it was a con and I had to change my checking account as a result.t

      @AbtInsuranceAgency  Год назад +4

      YES you are correct. You can delay Part B. And then you will have an “open enrollment” for Medigap when you do enroll in Part B. Many brokers will just try to sign you up no matter your situation, use scare tactics etc. I’m glad you got informed! Looking forward to hearing from you in the future.

I have a lady who was told she didn't qualify because she didn't have her 40 quarters of work in. Well, this was clearly a mistake and SS has acknowledged as much. hi Stephanie, i didn't go with an advantage plan because in my case the disadvantages of the advantage plans would not be an advantage for me. i especially didn't like the possibility of a high out of pocket deductible or whatever they label it ( it is still out of pocket expense). i go out of town often so i didn't like the in network issues and the high cost of out of network treatments. i couldn't afford to have my benefits to change yearly which they are able to do, under an advantage plan. were you aware of that? might want to pass the info along, other wise thanks for thanks for taking the time for the informative video. it does clear up a lot of issues.

I just wanted to clarify: If you signed up for an Advantage plan at 65 (during your IEP), doesn't the system allow you a sort of "trial period" to switch back to a Medigap (from an Advantage plan) with no underwriting requirements at all, after 1 year (at 66) if you decide to switch?

      Great question! If your Advantage Plan started at the *same time* as your Part A and B start dates then you have up to 12 months from that date to leave your Advantage Plan and get a Medicare Supplement Plan without medical underwriting. This is also know as a “trial right” guaranteed issue right. I hope this helps!

    Hello, I really enjoy watching your videos.
    Very informative.
    I have a question...I turn 65 this December, am retired, and have Health Marketplace insurance.
    Can I be penalized by the Federal Government if I don't begin my Medicare A & B in December while still using the Obamacare insurance?
    I would like to start everything on January 1st, Medicare A,B,D and a Supplement Plan.
    I may also begin to receive Social Security payments in January as well. Thank You!

    • @AbtInsuranceAgency
      @AbtInsuranceAgency  Год назад +1

      Great question. If you turn 65 in December then Medicare won’t penalize you for starting Medicare part B in January ( because you’re still in your initial enrollment period - IEP). HOWEVER if you sign up for Medicare anytime during your IEP then Medicare will generally make your Part A coverage effective the first day of your birth month. So if you wait until Dec to enroll in Medicare, it’s likely your Part B coverage will start Jan. 1st but Part A will be retroactive and start Dec 1st.
      The marketplace can technically ask you to pay back any Advance Premium Tax Credit you have received while you have Part A or Part B coverage, so that is something to keep in mind if you are getting a tax credit subsidy.

      If your employer’s plan has 19 or fewer plan members, it will pay second to Medicare, so you must enroll in both Parts A and B of Medicare. Then you can choose whether to get a Medicare Advantage plan or a medigap and Part D drug plan, or keep the employer insurance.
      If your employer’s plan has 20 or more members, it will pay first and be the primary coverage, so it is not required to have Medicare. Since you can choose to have Medicare or not, the thing to do is compare what you pay yourself for the employer coverage and what you get for that monthly premium, with what you would pay for Medicare and what you would get with Medicare coverage. Then you can choose which is best for you.
