PlutoTheGod ...She said she devoted her life to developing her mind. She has a Ph.d. That means she is a doctor within her field of study. She appears as being a lively person. Not just well educated but able to articulate her situation and clear desire to end her life while she is able to leave feeling fortunate and ready to pass. Dignity is all anyone can ask for at the end of life. I'm glad she was able to make the choice.

no it's ashame , when someone is so trully dissapointed she/he doesn't really wants death to finish , but it's the frustration it talks when she says she prefer death ,she can't think straight at all , the people are supporting this I just wanna ask :''where's your heart ?'' really? where did it go?

    • @irisheyesofbelfast
      @irisheyesofbelfast 6 лет назад +53

Mary Crystl Where's your heart? This lady is COMPLETELY with it, COMPLETELY in her right mind. She's tired of suffering and you think it's wrong of her to want a peaceful death before she gets worse, becomes even MORE dependent on people? She is not doing this because she is depressed and has given up on life! She is very sick, has suffered enough, has had a good life, fulfilled life and has made an educated decision about HER LIFE! She wants to go while she still has some dignity. I have been an RN 27 years and have witnessed some horrible deaths, my own mother being one. I understand why people want to do this and I can be compassionate towards them for making this choice and wish more people had this option. Wish it would have been available for my mom because she suffered horribly in the end. Absolutely ridiculous to say this dear woman is not in her right mind.........

I don't know you, but I hope that if you feel so alone, you share a little more/respond, so you can see that people.. even strangers, do care. There's lots of ppl out there that care even though they dont know someone personally. The human spirit can be extraordinarily awful, but on the flip side, very comforting and warm.. amazingly supportive and give you that extra oomph to combat tomorrow with some sass and support. X

My father recently passed of stage 4 metastatic melanoma. He was in horrible pain. It hurt him to even touch him slightly. He had a tumor the size of a cantaloupe in his stomach that was extremely prominent due to him being all skin & bones near the end. He was absolutely miserable. No matter how much morphine he was administered or how much ativan to calm him, he would moan in pain for hours until he passed out. Then he would wake & moan for hours again. I wish medical assistance in dying was available to him, he didn’t deserve to die that horrible death, no one does.

I'm so sorry for your loss and for the fact that your father went through that hell. I watched helplessly as my beloved mother suffered for a long time as she died of cancer. She's my soulmate and the whole experience messed me up very badly; this happened on Valentine's of 2013. You're correct, first and foremost, that no one deserves to die in such a horrific way, and secondly, their loved ones also shouldn't have to be witness to that torment.

I'm 55 and in terrible health. Chronic pain, thyroid disease, horrible dental issues I can't fix that are giving me more pain and I'm not able to eat normal. Lost my ability to drive which I loved, walk unaided, sing along to my favorite songs, Help other people, clean my house, assemble furniture, knit, write, or to go outside in the sunshine soaking up the warmth. I miss taking care of my pets and playing with them. I tried getting a doctor to come to my place to give me my meds as it's too difficult to travel anymore. I used to play piano. I used to be this happy go lucky person and very independent. I liked helping as many people as I could but I can barely help myself. I'm on disability. Losing manual dexterity. Muscle. It's hard to accept not being able to do those simple things. I was always able to rough it. I had the physical strength to do many things. When you have your health that in itself is a cause to rejoice. Your health is a blessing. I never cared about money or material things. I'm lamenting the days when I was able bodied, not in pain or disabled. I believe in God and accepted Jesus as my Saviour real young. I know when a Christian dies they are immediately with the Lord. The Bible says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. God has seen me through many tough times. I'm not perfect but I ask the Lord to forgive me. I can only lean on Jesus to bring me through every day. When you're young and feeling physically strong you can take it for granted. I know many times I have. I remember when people would say to count your blessings but I never understood that because I was okay in my health. It's when your health gets so bad that you finally realize what really does matter. I wished I'd really appreciated the many blessings I had and thanked God more often and with sincerity. I wouldn't want anyone to experience what things I'm going through. Cherish your health while you have it. Take good care of your bodies by eating healthy, exercise and staying fit so you can do things you love. I wish I could back up the clock to 2012. I was doing good. I didn't have alot of money but I could handle that. I was able to get by on very little and I was content and very happy. I live with someone because I can't live on my own anymore. I have to depend on others for help. That's hard to do since I could do for myself. You feel like life's just passing you by. You see others doing what you used to do and it bothers you. You wish you'd been born with the disability so you that's all you've known and grown up to adapt to doing things. It's a whole new ball game though when you lose capabilities and you're going downhill. Please don't take anything for granted. If you're able to drive, walk, eat normal and not in pain give thanks to God. If you find yourself grumbling and complaining about trivial matters, realize and be thankful for all the many things you're able to do. So many are suffering debilitating illnesses and disabilities and their quality of life isn't living but they're really just existing. If it comes my time I just want to be in a comfortable warm bed with adequate pain medication and given that medicine they use to anesthesize you where you just fall asleep and you feel no pain or discomfort, just peace. I hope anyone hurting so bad from a terminal illness that you are receiving compassionate care from people who really do care about you. I hope you have family and friends for support and most of all that you accept Jesus as your Saviour and make him #1 in your life. I want everyone to be saved and have that close relationship with God and that you will have eternal life which God promises in John 3:16. If you died in an accident at least you know you'll be with God eternally in no more pain, no sorrow. God loves us and gave his only Son to take our sin away. We needed a Saviour and God provided a way for us to be redeemed and have our sins forgiven so we could have that assurance of knowing that when we die here on Earth, that's not the end but a wonderful beginning to spending eternity in heaven in joy, no more sorrow, no pain or sickness. God will give us new bodies. There's going to animals there and it will be beautiful. Surrounded with love, happiness and God's beautiful place for us. I hope anyone reading this will accept the fact that God loves you and whatever bad stuff you did in the past or present, He will forgive you if you ask. The Lord desires a relationship with you as any loving father would. You don't have to clean up your life before coming to God. He already accepts you as you are and will do a mighty work in your life. He knows all things about you and can make your life beautiful again. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us He has a good plan for your life if you just trust Him.

Tandi Caldwell Hello Tandi. I'm sorry to hear about your illness. I hope whatever it is you are dealing with that you're getting proper and enough adequate help to have some good quality of life. I mean with me situation and the stuff that's wrong, if only like my teeth were still in great shape but had to live the rest of my life in wheelchair and from there see about taking care of one thing at time like my Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and the nodules, then my forward slipped disks and bulging disks in my lower back crushing my nerves causing pain all in my lower extremities and then tackling the radiculopathy/peripheral neuropathy in my feet. Basically, being able to eat well, getting proper pain management going on the rest or if I needed surgery I'd consider it.
I'm saying I know I could still enjoy life if my teeth were the one thing that wasn't messed up. I miss diving into a huge steak or salad, munching on chips, that good healthy Raisen Nut Cluster cereals, hot wings, I'm torturing myself by writing this stuff but you know.....I'm mean of course if I had my druthers I'd want 100% health but if I was wheelchair bound, needing pain management, seeing how much was fixable I'd try. Having to get around by wheelchair on pain meds but having good dental would up my quality pretty close to perfect considering everything. I'd be able to go places and get out of this room. I wouldn't be a "shut-in." I mean it's not like I had any plans to conquer Mt. Everest. Life would be great again. I could eat normal, build up my upper body strength, be more independent. Play piano, I would do one of my favorite things by going off somewhere by myself in my different wheels and put my favorite songs on my cd player and sing away like I use to ....just rock out without a care in the world. I could do whatever crafts I liked doing. See about going back to work again, I could do laundry, Yay!. Go see my kids and visit them at with work. Basically, I'd be really living again, I say that with all sincerity. That small bump up a notch would be like heaven to me. I could help people and animals, I wouldn't be down in the dumps. My normal personality was I loved laughing, joking around, making others laugh just being my crazy self. I had a blithe spirit and was able to easily let things go, I didn't hold grudges and basically was pretty laid back, easy going, I wanted to get along with everybody. If only that possibility was doable I'd do it. Thanks for your kind words. God bless you too and fill your heart with hope every day. That would be great to have your situation improve. I hope it does~take it easy :-)

jn wd Thank you for your kind words! I believe I was meant to read them. I have Hashimoto's as well and understand the debillitating fatigue and effects it has on our body. I have Dysautonomia, (a form called Pots or Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). It is a disorder of the autonomic system that controls blood pressure, breathing, heart rate and body temperature. There is no cure but just managing of symptoms. I can't go outside or I overheat and dehydrate, and I run IVs myself at home. Occasionally I have real good days and can go places without fainting! I have 3 children ages 24, 23 and 17, as my disorder didn't get bad until the third pregnancy. I wanted that little boy though, and couldn't dream of abortion as suggested. It was worth losing my health. I think about my condition worsening, and that is scary. But I try to stay in the moment and appreciate the little things. Thank you for replying. I am on Facebook and Instagram under the same name. Hang in there!! 💗💗💗💗

Mrs. A. That's awesome advice. When I get down and feel discouraged, I remind myself of my beautiful children and how selfish it would be for me to end my life. I'm Bi-Polar and the mania is fun and I get so much done at first..... but then after I've been up a few days, I do a whole lot of nothing. And then the worst part of bi-polar is the crash into severe deep depression. It's horrible. Some say the higher you fly the farther you fall. And no that isn't referring to drugs. It's referring to the mania and depression of bi-polar. Even with medication, I still have the mood swings, they just aren't quite as severe. And I do believe that suicide is the ultimate act of selfishness. Thanks for reminding me of that. I appreciate it. I've been hurt so severely that I don't let people into my world and my brain and emotions. I tend to hide and isolate which leaves me very lonely and I feel so alone with no one to talk to and confide in. So again, I thank u for responding to me.

Lesley bailey if you knew how suicide leaves an indelible mark on the lives of those who love you, you would never think those thoughts again. If you have children, you have no right to take your own life , if you're healthy that is.

CAPELLASAMPIERE I do have kids which is why I would never take my life. Even though I have physical problems as well as emotional as I've been terribly hurt and abused my entire life. And it hurts so much inside sometimes. So I choose to help people which makes me happy and feel worthwhile. I have a service dog that I take into hospitals and nursing homes and just to see it brighten someone's day is amazing. That has been the best therapy I could ever have. Before I had kids, I did consider suicide. But after my birth parents did that to me and my siblings, we were all separated and put into foster care and I've not seen them since. So I do know what suicide does to people. It's the ultimate act of selfishness in my opinion. I guess I wasn't clear when I said I thought about suicide because I have but it was years ago. I have 4 beautiful kids and 3 amazing dogs too.

Lesley bailey ,You can have Jesus. For sure He loves you VERY MUCH. Do you know Him?
Do you comprehend what Legal transaction He made for you out of His Love? In case you do not ,
let me explain this to you.
God is not in a quest for control, RELIGION is. You do not have to join any religion to be Saved. All religions preach Salvation trough being good and other your own works. But it never will be good enough in eyes of
God. YHWH is different he promised Salvation as a FREE GIFT. Let me explain the difference by using an example.
God made His Law too and every one who breaks it is a "criminal"/sinner in His eyes Because you like ALL of us are criminal in the eyes of God, we broke all of His Commandment and you can`t undo them by your good
works, it is done and it is on our account for the rest of our life. We may promise not to commit them again but this does not change that we deserve sentence for what we ALREADY done.
In a justice of court you standing before a judge and you telling him yes i robbed a bank, and raped woman but i am sorry for that i did lots of good things as well please let me go. The judge will say ,what are you talking about? That is good you are sorry, you should be ,but i am representing the law and i would be an unjust judge if i let you just
      go.
Crimes against God as well have to be punished. You cant bribe the judge by pointing what good you did because you playing the role of a judge justifying yourself. What would you think about a judge who let go of
criminal who hurt your family? An unjust judge! Crimes have to be PUNISHED.
You broke God`s Law you lied repeatedly ,so you are a LIAR.
You probably stole something even as a child,so you are a THIEF.
Bible says that if you looked at women or man with lust ,you already committed
ADULTERY with this person in your heart.
If you hated someone, the bible says that you are a MURDERER at heart.
So we ALL are LYING THIEFS, MURDERERS and ADULTERERS at heart ,and this is happening every day.We CANT stop it, YHWH knows that. With God the same applies. God would be UNJUST judge if He just let us go. PAYMENT has to be made.
YHWH says " ALL unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, SHALL have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone" He already told us what is the sentence.
If In court of justice somebody will step out and tell the judge that he will pay your fine ,the judge CAN dismiss your case.
Do you know what YHWH did to save ALL SINNERS "criminals" from the punishment? He is God and He made a Law for us. 2000 years ago GOD BECAME A HUMAN ,stepped in and PAYED OUR FINE, He took SENTENCE OF DEATH FOR YOUR SINS, that means GOD can LEGALLY DISMISS YOUR CASE and you can walk out CLEAN ,out of the Court Room, IT IS PAYED. And this is a PROMISE of YHWH.
No other God can guarantee you that.
So what you have to do, to be free from your punishment is repent and TRUST in JESUS, the One who ALREADY payed your fine by death. You have to accept the GIFT.If you will not, you WILL pay the punishment yourself, God will not accept a bribe of good works from you for your crimes. He is a JUST
JUDGE. And Merciful Father, He provided escape for you. This is up to YOU if you will take the PAYMENT or not. This is a LEGAL TRANSACTION between you and YHWH. He will ask did you accepted or not. This is going to be the only question from Him to you.
God loves you so much, do not lose hope, you can start new life with Him.He WILL fix it if you give Him a chance. I asked Him in 2006 and he CAME to may home 3 times ,spoke to me healed me and now i cant live without Jesus,my Best Friend
      May God bless your life.

What an intelligent, eloquent & beautiful, inspirational woman. We need to LISTEN to the educated & affected people of awful illnesses & give them such a basic human right - the right to choose when enough is enough & say goodbye on their own terms. I want this right for myself & my loved ones. I want this right for this lady.. my heart breaks watching this woman have to plead her case for a choice that should be her so her own. It's such an important yet very basic right that we all should have, yet government legislation's driven by religion & those who really have no understanding of the situation rule, & impose the restriction of CHOICE! Why should I not have, or anyone else have, the right to choose that I/you/they want to end their life & instead of embarking on a devastating & painful battle. If you have no fight left, the "rules" are that you must keep fighting. Ridiculous.I'm going to bring up the old "you can do it for your pets, but not for your human loved ones" argument.. why? If we have so much respect for life, why don't we for death? That's also a monumental & important part of a life story. I know I'd rather be remembered bowing out early whilst cognitive, happy & in control than resembling a person in incredible, pain, crying for relief or days/weeks living like the already dead. How traumatic for loved ones to witness not to mention the trauma the "victim" must experience. Although you have no family beautiful lady, I hope you do get your wish, & are surrounded by friends who love you. You are an inspiration for speaking up, & for tolerating the battle of fighting for your choice & right. Many choose the illegal option that is flagged with darkness.. "suicide", because they have no other option. Therefore they do it alone to avoid implicating loved ones in a "manslaughter" conviction. It shouldn't be like that.

I stand by this. Here in Australia, one of our huge campaigners for giving us our choice just lost his life. And he did it in a hospital, because that was the only way he could do it if he wanted to be with family & loved ones. He had his Nembutal, that would in Australia still mean being alone if he used it.. anyone near him would be prosecuted for manslaughter. He went to hospital & refused treatment. Thanks J for fighting so hard for us all. So much respect mate. He at least saw it through to Vol Euth being passed into lower parliament.. I think that's a huge achievement Much respect & love JF.. u did good

a family friend jumped out of his hospital window & committed suicide while hospitalized for cancer - he couldn't take the pain/discomfort any longer.. so what did hospitals do? make sure windows could only open so far...they are perpetuating evil in every sense of the word with Religion being the culprit..that is none of the Establishment's business.. our lives are our own to decide what we'll do with them..

She said that she was expecting her end of life measures to take place the day after Thanksgiving....and that she would be surrounded by her close friends and her personal doctor of many years.

Please do NOT think about death until you've really found Jesus and his plan of salvation for every life which is to repent of the sins you have done, be baptized in Jesus' name, and letting Him feel you with the free gift of His Spirit by speaking in a tongue that He will give to you... please hear this! You can read this for yourself in the Bible, book of Acts chapter 2:38.

What a lovely and unique woman. Her abundant intellect combined with her pragmatism is a joy to behold. I do hope that she was able to enact her wishes as she described. With what appear to be her full faculties intact, no overt sign of depression or lack of affect, and a mindful and proactive approach, she embodies the common sense that should guide those who advocate for the right to die with dignity for themselves as well as others. It would be hard to find a more crystalline display of a sensible approach to MAID.

I’m order to enter beach after death one must’ be born again Trust by faith that Jesus is God and he proved that by his virus birth his death burial and resurrection so if anyone belive that they will go to heaven for eternity right away after death

Bunky Armstrong when alot of people come closer to death, their clarity and intelligence seems to concentrate on the exact issues at hand, and for good reason.

    • @KnowledgeBoutique
      @KnowledgeBoutique 6 лет назад +14

Bunky Armstrong Education doesn't equal intelligence so obviously we can't proclaim wisdom, insight, wit etc.based on how much time we spend in a classroom. There's a huge genetic and cognitive component to intelligence (Thank God). The fact that you opened with your education and profession, we can see the mask you choose to wear. Please remember, one of the greatest indicators of intelligence is humility. Impress others with that first.

We should have the right to decide when we die and when we've had enough. For another perspective, we choose when to end our pets' lives after all, and any true pet owner will agree they are just like humans and are family.

Gabby J excuse me? I love my animals very much, but if you've never had to make a decision about a loved one, a person, a life or death decision, and according to Drs base it on quality of life.
Then you don't have a clue do you, you're just a paddling away using forks for ores.
Bless your idiot heart, I know you meant well but the simple fact of the matter is families make quality of life decisions every minute of every day that results in the deaths of their loved ones. It is a practice of Drs to not go all out if the end result doesn't lead to a better quality of life, so the families are pressed to make decisions on their behalf, to " let them go" as it is better for them
Same as it happens for your pet, except cost is deferred for people not animals you want to save them fork over the money otherwise put them down, with people if they can save your life and return you to some semblance of yourself then they do and worry about the cost later, but if your quality of life can not be improved or is severely lessened then they may just make you comfortable

In Italy it's illegal to kill a healthy dog or cat, so not in all countries people can chose when end the life of our pets . Most veterinarians wpuld never kill a dog only cause he has a lump ... They do if the dog or the cat is terminally ill and hopeless ... And in pain . Same thing should be applied to humans . Medicine is about healing , so someone who has stage one of cancer and wanna die should not be eligible for that . Someone like this lady who is obviously a step away from death is .
