Day 4, a vision from the future: in the lukewarm nothing at the end of the universe, a nokia floats through the endless void. twice a day it buzzes with notifications: one from duolingo and another, an excellent video from retromation.
Hey Reto, a couple things to note. 1. The oasis no longer doubles the effects of tiles around it like a river does 2. The reflected projectiles are for attacks from units like the skeleton archers or the crypt worms that attack from outside the battle and can't be hurt
Hey i was paying extra close attention when the river becomes a oasis it no longer doubles the affect of adjacent tiles something to keep in mind if you want more healing or max oasis seems to be working so you do you
I checked this on the wiki but, the arsenal isn't as great as it looks. (2 minutes in, you mentioned "is the maze worth losing a full slot?"), however according to my play and the wiki and the arsenal description, it reduces the efficiency of items by 85% on every slot/stat. You have 5 items of 0.85 efficiency. 5x0.75= 4.25, so you're gaining about 0.25 worth of stats, the main advantage is you're getting it for, is for flexibility because the extra item slot gives you access to more different stats, but it's not an full item slot up in terms of power.
That Prime Matter thing has a 33% chance of dropping a GOLDEN CARD when slain. Maybe you should let enemies with souls spawn near a battlefield a bit more often. Just watch that the enemies with souls aren't TOO tough - if a Prime Matter lives too long in act 3 or above, it will just instantly kill you. Also, the rest of the time it drops 3 cards that don't have to be in your deck. Finally, quick notes on the Oasis and the Warrior: the Warrior gains damage from battle duration (in seconds) and the Oasis making battles slower thereby makes him stronger beyond just the relative effect of the Oasis - but the desert tiles reduce HP and thereby make battles shorter, which isn't very good for him. Also, the Oasis itself doesn't double nearby tiles (it loses that feature when it transforms) but as a Landscape tile is doubled by having a normal River next to it. As such, using only the weaker desert tile and holding all sand dunes while also only transforming every other River tile will produce the greatest results on the Warrior, particularly if you fill the remaining 75% of the river space with meadows. The Bookery is great for this because it can turn all your exess desert and sand dune cards into other, more useful cards.
Always a pleasure to watch this game. You unlock a card and everything changes.. Maybe the maze of memories works with the treasury.. Maybe if you oblivion on spot and put a treasury you can fill it up instantly..
No, you can only place a treasury when there are 8 open spaces surrounding a tile. The maze is used to speed up boss spawn so you have a early boss fight
Still loving the series! To be honest, I don't see how you manage all the cards so well. I honestly get a little lost with all the combinations and stats.
The best golden card in this game is definitely the ancestral crypt, do try it out! Works best by far on the necromancer since it has zero downsides on him, but I believe it's also kinda good on the rogue, while being decent on the warrior. By comparison, the arsenal ruins the strength of all your items but can be kinda good due to the extra slot, and is probably best on rogue because it grants magic hp.
The arsenal is incredible for Necromancer because he cares more about having a ton of different stats on items compared to any other class, once you get enough attack speed, summons and summon quality he doesn't even really care about having high health.
@@Napstablooky I used mostly summon quality rings on necro and one day ghost lv 3 gave me arsenal on probably seventh loop. My rings were about 26-29%, rings gained after were 16-18%, quality on them is just so important that i don't think arsenal is worth it unless you want to wait with placing. In comparison crypt cost nothing and can give insane amount of life points (not to mention free ress), it kinda hard to lose a fight on 18th loop when hero has about 3,2k life and 1,8k magic hp.
@@avezebra7022 I mean if you mostly use summon quality then having an extra slot to give it is even more valuable because you can use your rings for +1 summons or summon level. There's a certain point in necro's run to where he's never going to be the one taking damage anyway if your attack speed and summon quality is high enough, so I don't find the extra health as impactful (though still useful).
@@Napstablooky Yeah, it was't very impactful at this stage, most damage taken by me at this point was self inflicted, still funny to see and helped me get there. So does it mean that quality doesn't affect secondary stats? Because if that is true, then you may be right, that this is a viable alternative. There are some things in this game that i would love to see explained somewhere, because it may be just a tad confusing.
@@avezebra7022 Quality just determines how many stats are on the item, so the best quality ring will have +skeletons level, +summons, summon quality, attack speed etc, while a blue ring might only have summon quality, but generally that means it'll be a higher %
I'm sure you are probably aware of that by now, but once you transform a tile it loses it's previous effect. So the oasis doesn't double the effectiveness of adjacent tiles anymore. I haven't thought too much about this, but if you want to maximise the oasis something like this setup might be good: (O = Oasis, R = River, M = Meadow, D = Dune) - M - - M R O D D O R M M R O D D O R M M R O D D O R M M R O D D O R M M R O D D O R M M R R R R R... Like this nearly every Oasis is adjacent to 3 river tiles, which octuples the effectiveness of that tile. Also the meadows still get the effect of the river. Keep in mind that if you have a tile with 2 adjacent rivers, it doesnt double, but quadruples the effectiveness, so if you want to maximise on a different tile, like the meadows this might not be a good setup. Also this setup uses double the river card compared to the other cards. ("-" Doesn't really matter what card, because it doesn't interact with adjacent tiles at all)

he should have made alternating gap in between the oases so that the river effect won't go to waste
😮 Prime Matter's Act 3 ability: "Destined: creature's sixth strike is guaranteed to kill the hero." 🤯
Appreciate the consistency always! Your the man Reto
if you place 5 cards that have overlapping areas of effect it will create a spot that you can oblivion. When you oblivion it, it will summon a boss.
i don't play the game so i have no way of checking but for some reason this sounds so much like "mew is underneath the truck" school talk
@@Dragondetective_ it's true, but I believe you need six or seven overlapping effects (beacon, bookery, mansion, etc)
the problem is - the boss is super hard
@@drTak16 It would still be cool to see, and challenges are nice!
Shhhhhhh
You can spend books in the encyclopedia for a little more info per tab.
