I think that's the problem for a lot of folks (& weirdly black folks!) That she used to be like us struggling along yet entertaining us. Now she's reacged a level where she could move out the hood and where silk and travel the world, whilst leaving us behind. You do not have to buy it, I buy what I can afford.
We were not rich, but my mom had over 200 bottles of different perfumes. Some people assume we’re either broke or rich in life. There is also a middle.
That's true, especially when you're trying to find the perfect scent. Plus ppl fail to realize that if you aren't throwing away perfumes, they add up over the yrs. I would still have scents I had as a teen/early 20s if I hadn't gotten robbed. I'm 31 now, so that would be around 30 bottles if not more.
People forget that some people can actually save up to afford the things that they like, and they know how to splurge when they have it. Literally people think you're either rich or you're broke. Most working women with large collections of anything, work hard for those and like to spend money on the things when they get a good deal or when they've saved up for up. Others don't know how to do that.

I’m not heavy into influencers, I can hardly recognize most of them but let Jackie do her thing. It’s been dope to see her progress in an industry that is not only racist but colorist. I followed Jackie Aina on RUclips years ago when her main thing was makeup tutorials, I learned a lot from her. But when her brand switched mainly to lifestyle, I fell off. I’m happy for her but it’s not my thing.
I was following a content creator years ago when she would do fashion try-on hauls, couponing & tips on how to save. She started making money & now everything is about designer, luxury brands & showing off her items. The content got really boring. That doesn’t excite me at all. & her lifestyle & fashion sense doesn’t even go with the expensive items she buys. Some people would rather own Chanel than own a home. Jackie Aina literally started from scratch. Long before the term "influencer" was ever coined or even lucrative. 2024 Jackie Aina is the embodiment of her all hard work. I don't watch her as much now, but I love seeing her elevation and growth. Along with some other BW influencers. I can't be mad at someone doing things that I'm not willing to do. She's put in a lot of work, and it's clearly paying off.

I have several thoughts here lol. The first is that people have been coming at Jackie for a while now for no longer being “relatable” and sitting on her bedroom floor doing her makeup. I’ve always thought that wasn’t fair because she built her brand from the ground up and paid her dues, she deserves to reap the benefits. How many perfumes Jackie owns comes with the territory of being a global beauty influencer. A lot of it is probably free. I'm not into influencer stuff, never heard of Jackie, and couldn't tell the difference between the smell of expensive perfume and Barbasol. But seeing how excited her fans are about her fragrance coming out made me feel happy. My favorite video game essayist, Jacob Gellar, just released a book, and you bet I bought it. There's nothing wrong with buying products you want from creators you enjoy. If someone takes issue with that dynamic, then they don't have to engage with it.

First, I am very sure that Jackie did not purchase every single bottle of perfume. We forget the influencers are gifted a lot of products, services, and experiences. I absolutely love the beginning of the commercial, the end was not as artistic. We also have to remember that as an influencer she didn't have to pay for all of the perfumes in her collection. Regardless of how she got it, as a fellow black woman I will support her, and her efforts as long as they align with the betterment of black women. P.S I hope she launches them in travel size too. I don't wear perfume enough to buy the larger bottles, but the travel sizes are perfect for me.

I don’t understand the outrage. They really want Jackie to be the champion for every cause. Every time this girl launching something, it’s problem. That being said, I used to follow Jackie back in the day, not so much now. Mostly because her content doesn’t resonate with me and my lifestyle. When I first saw the perfume, my automatic response was the bottle looks cheap. But I’m also a lover and collector of perfumers, with two bins full of fragrances. I’ll be testing them out in Sephora and buying it. Good for her. Starting a business isn’t easy. Especially for black women. So I’ll be supporting.
I practice mindful consumption. I do feel like many influencers are promoting overconsumption and a lifestyle that is unobtainable for most people. I feel like these influencers are not relatable, but it's not just Jackie the Kardashians and many others are out of touch as well. I think we just have to remember that we shouldn't feel bad about making less money and that most people are not going to be millionaires or billionaires.

Now we all know Jackie did not get rid of any of those perfumes - it was simply a stunt to get people talking and she was successful. I will not be buying it but I don't think it's my business how people choose to spend their money. I only have two perfumes and three body sprays. I have no desire to go out and buy more. People have the freedom and autonomy to make their own decisions. If you want to spend your money buying a bunch of fragrances, you can do that. If people have a problem with overconsumption then don't watch content that supports it.

If you watched Jackie, you know that she has been collecting perfumes for years. Jackie is also given gifts. I am happy for her, that she is expanding her business. I would still have scents I had as a teen/early 20s if I hadn't gotten robbed. I'm 31 now, so that would be around 30 bottles if not more.
People forget that some people can actually save up to afford the things that they like, and they know how to splurge when they have it. Literally people think you're either rich or you're broke. Most working women with large collections of anything, work hard for those and like to spend money on the things when they get a good deal or when they've saved up for up. It’s giving jealousy and that never looks good on anyone. These other whyte influencers are doing nothing, stealing content, and being mediocre are favored through the algorithm, have millions of followers, and are heavily paid to promote. If anyone is against Jackie, especially if you’re a black woman, please get yourself checked, and get a follow up appointment while you’re at it.
I’m not heavy into influencers, I can hardly recognize most of them but let Jackie do her thing. It’s been dope to see her progress in an industry that is not only racist but colorist. She’s the reason the brand two faced (don’t come for me if I’m wrong about the brand) expanded their color range. I think she’s iconic in her lane.

I’ve been on this wave for years now. I’ve actually never cared for lifestyle influencers. I never saw the overconsumption thing as aspirational. I followed Jackie Aina on RUclips years ago when her main thing was makeup tutorials, I learned a lot from her. But when her brand switched mainly to lifestyle, I fell off. I’m happy for her but it’s not my thing.

I dont even watch Jackie as much anymore but Im happy to see her growing and building her own empire.. Regardess of the economic climate, there is still room to celebrate a sisters success..

People forget that she’s a beauty and fragrance influencer? She receives a lot of it in PR and whatever she buys for content purposes can be claimed as a business expense. And whatever she buys with her own money will be relative to your own discretionary spending in terms of % of income. If you don’t like it, scroll on 😂 I can’t afford that lifestyle but I love the content 🥰

I'm not into influencer stuff, never heard of Jackie, and couldn't tell the difference between the smell of expensive perfume and Barbasol. But seeing how excited her fans are about her fragrance coming out made me feel happy. My favorite video game essayist, Jacob Gellar, just released a book, and you bet I bought it. There's nothing wrong with buying products you want from creators you enjoy. If someone takes issue with that dynamic, then they don't have to engage with it.

I like Jackie. She earned her money. I’m buying the perfume when Ulta or Sephora has a sale.
Being jealous of a complete stranger because they own things you can't afford while ignoring the fact that she worked hard at her craft to be able to get to where she is. All people see is what's on the camera but not all the work that goes behind making her content. Its more than just press and record. A part of me also thinks some of these people deep down have an anger that they feel someone that looks like her shouldn't be where she is and you know what I mean. People tear down what they can't have and its pathetic. I am inspired by people like this that take you on their journey and not people born into money or lie about how they really obtained success. And when she drops this scent, I will be trying it. I wish her all the success. Plus she's gotta give haters something to hate, right. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I'm not shocked that Jackie has that much perfume, been following her for years, and I've realized that she's obsessed perfumes. And I believe some of those were gifted to her, but even if she bought them I personally do not care, it's not like she was gonna send me some of the money she'd have used for the perfume if she didn't buy it so why would I care. First, I am very sure that Jackie did not purchase every single bottle of perfume. We forget the influencers are gifted a lot of products, services, and experiences. Second, Jackie has grown and evolved in front of our eyes. She has grown from making money from RUclips and influencer brand deals to being a company owner. Why people are mad at her for being rich, I don’t understand. She is still being true to herself, and sharing her life exactly where she is. My thought is, if you don’t like her content, stop watching. I don’t understand why people watch just so they can leave hurtful comments. Personally, I like her and I find her growth trajectory to be inspirational. Have I purchased anything that she promoted or anything from her company? No. She is outside of my price point 🤣 but I still enjoy watching her content, even though I can’t relate to her lifestyle.

I watch influencers for entertainment purposes only. I don’t buy what they buy. Because I have my own sense of style. But, I’m happy for her she’s doing her thing.
Lastly, people are making a big fuss about her having so much perfumes etc…in the same breath going out and buying Beyonce’s perfume and hair care line. People pick and choose their favs. So what’s the difference?

Because someone has a 1000 perfumes and shows them to you doesn’t mean you have to. As some sort of collector myself I will still tell you to not run around buying something because someone else did buy it or told you need it.

It’s simple. If you don’t like it, then don’t watch it… and if you don’t want it or don’t want to support it, then don’t buy it. What’s frustrating are those influencers who are on here doing the bare minimum and making bank. Jackie has worked hard to get to where she is… I remember military Jackie, and talking about her divorce with the bad camera Jackie. Look at where she is now. So I can’t knock her for just continuing to expand herself and her brand.

I absolutely love the beginning of the commercial, the end was not as artistic. We also have to remember that as an influencer she didn't have to pay for all of the perfumes in her collection. Regardless of how she got it, as a fellow black woman I will support her, and her efforts as long as they align with the betterment of black women. P.S I hope she launches them in travel size too. I don't wear perfume enough to buy the larger bottles, but the travel sizes are perfect for me.
6:49 Fragrance sales have actually exploded since the pandemic. In 2022 the company I worked for hit $3B in sales on just the luxury collection alone. People aren't "de-influencing" in this case, they're just hating on Jackie Aina
I don’t understand the outrage. They really want Jackie to be the champion for every cause. Every time this girl launching something, it’s problem. That being said, I used to follow Jackie back in the day, not so much now. Mostly because her content doesn’t resonate with me and my lifestyle. When I first saw the perfume, my automatic response was the bottle looks cheap. But I’m also a lover and collector of perfumers, with two bins full of fragrances. I’ll be testing them out in Sephora and buying it. Good for her. Starting a business isn’t easy. Especially for black women. So I’ll be supporting.

I practice mindful consumption. I do feel like many influencers are promoting overconsumption and a lifestyle that is unobtainable for most people. I feel like these influencers are not relatable, but it's not just Jackie the Kardashians and many others are out of touch as well. I think we just have to remember that we shouldn't feel bad about making less money and that most people are not going to be millionaires or billionaires.
This is a weird thing for people to have a problem with 😂🥴 I've watching Jackie for a LONG time. She has always collected items, gifts, and especially, perfumes. If she wants to do that then she can. Now we all know Jackie did not get rid of any of those perfumes - it was simply a stunt to get people talking and she was successful. I will not be buying it but I don't think it's my business how people choose to spend their money. I only have two perfumes and three body sprays. I have no desire to go out and buy more. People have the freedom and autonomy to make their own decisions. If you want to spend your money buying a bunch of fragrances, you can do that. If people have a problem with overconsumption then don't watch content that supports it.
Oh my gosh...the sample set is completely sold out!!! Not everything smells great on me so I wanted to try them out first. Best believe, I'm on the list 😊❤.
