This is a terrific video - thank you for posting it! Very informative, this is something I have been wanting to do to my MPS 802 for a long long time. Thank you also for posting the graphics ROM. I knew the ROM existed but I couldn't find it until you made it available. Can't thank you enough, this video and the rom files are a valuable resource for those of us who still print using the MPS 1526/802!
Thanks! I had been wanting to do this one for a long time and just finally decided to do it. There was a lot more I wanted to talk about regarding the rom but figured I'd see if this even got any interest before I went down the 1526 rabbit hole lol. Anyway glad you found it helpful!
Hi, The original EPROM in my printer was a 27C64, 28 pin eprom, firmware version 1526/C 341-03. There is a jumper to set 24pin / 28 pin eprom. In my case I did not need to set the jumper. If there is a 24 pin rom installed, you may need to cut/bridge the jumper to install a 28 pin eprom. The ROM image for the graphics rom I placed here for download: file.io/OhnkpCycNl3s archive.org/details/mps-802-gph-rom Most eprom burners can do 27xx EPROMS. I used a "GQ 4x4": www.mcumall.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=66&product_id=166

Excellent video, a memory recorder has been used, what type of memory was used to record, where can you get that chip?

How does it print lowercase 'p's and 'q's now?
It prints them the same... descends under the line.
