My instincts tell me I don't feel convinced by her on the contrary i thought she wud tell me side effecs of lobbing but instead she praised it,something don't feel right about her talk.
You made a mistake when given the definition of what lobbying is getting government to act in the best interest of their corporate entities but never for the people
I’m trying to educate myself on mass production and consumer protection. I hope to learn that massive conglomerates like P&G have internal safeguards but I suspect they pay substantial money to get away with using carcinogenic ingredients in their soaps, detergents, hand washes, diapers, shaving products etc. it’s unrealistic for the average person to make all this stuff at home…we depend on the integrity of these companies
So, it's a person who goes to one of power and offers them money to make their company/their personal interests more money? So, takes money to get a good deed done? 😂😂 I can't listen to this lady talk. She's trying too hard to "convince".
Very narrow definition of lobbying, truth is all about perception and the info you are given. Nasdaq is a company, it is also our economy. There is no excuse for lining your pockets for corporate interests. You’re killing people
this talk itself feels like lobbying
The government listens to the "truth" with the most money.
Omg she's totally being paid by someone to do this
My instincts tell me I don't feel convinced by her on the contrary i thought she wud tell me side effecs of lobbing but instead she praised it,something don't feel right about her talk.
I had the same reaction
Agree completely. Usually enjoy these talks but this was pretty bunk.
Lobbyists have no place in our policies
Yes they do
Any reason why they cut out the part where she says “citizens organized in....” 🤔 strange.
A lot of words to say absolutely nothing.
And lawyers, and the team who writes the bill in favor of corporate greed.
You made a mistake when given the definition of what lobbying is getting government to act in the best interest of their corporate entities but never for the people
It’s not though, most interest groups represent charities and trade unions
@@edwardal7980 charities are tax breaks for the rich

I understand that you are upset, however lobbying is neutral.
Anyone could be a lobbyists for any cause.
Poor cannot afford lobbying...
"to make government act" - in favor of whom???
Whoever the bill is in regards to - if it’s a bill to ban poaching, then animals - if it’s to lower corporate taxes then businesses
Speech in favor of legalized bribery. Sure, lobbying could be used to help the world. It's not being used for that.
I thought this didnt include smoke and mirrors.
Thanks so much for this historical informative messge.
You can tell she's a lobbyist. Like a car salesman trying to sell a lemon.
Je crois que je vais un peu moins regarder certaines conférences ou plutôt interventions.
Voilà une chaine à laquelle je ne risque pas de m'abonner !
So let's ignore the 95% of lobbying that's bad for the average person? Gtfoh
A lobbyist trying to justify the nefariousness of lobbying. Jeez!
bro really said "skinning baby seals for haute fashion is good, actually"
I'm sure this pitch would have sounded better in her native language, feels like I'm getting a pitch for a health insurance scam.
A great teacher. Thank you.
Thank you, gracias
Creator for something greater xD
this is horrible propaganda probably funded by lobbyists lol
all political parties are lobbyists. these days politicians are lobbying for companies as well as the ones being lobbied by companies
revolving door mate
Lobbying can only lead to one conclusion , tyranny.
Nice last grasp lolll
So do people pay to give one of these talks?? Then they do biz development around it? That’s the vibe I’m getting
So, it's a person who goes to one of power and offers them money to make their company/their personal interests more money?
So, takes money to get a good deed done?
😂😂
I can't listen to this lady talk. She's trying too hard to "convince".
This is how lobbying isn’t a scam on the average citizen: “it all began hundreds of years ago, in a land far away…”
Lobbying takes zero skill. You hand someone cash
I think no smoke and mirrors would = no $ involved...try and breakout that skill with no cash to back you up😂
Cancel lobbys out of washington dc
Who's facts? 💰💰 or ⚖️

The speaker is so misleading incredible or maybe she is unsophisticated and does not have a deep understanding of the topic

A lobbyist explaining lobbying and how great it is. Like a tobacco exec explaining how great tobacco is. Very poor from TEDtalks
