    That's a great setup for a commercial outfit. For smaller outfits i suggest a heat gun for metal queen excluders.

    Great idea! I’ve used steam and boiling in a 55 gal drum over a fire. Both worked very well. I’ve never heard of adding live steam to the extractor. I guess it doesn’t raise the moisture that much? Thanks for the video!

      I find the water bath leaves a coating of wax that encourages the bees to re-fill the excluders with wax.

    Mr Phil. Would putting them on a rack over small fire pit work without damaging the excluders?

      I once bought excluders which I later learned had been overheated. The wires were all warped and let the queens through. Don’t make that mistake.
