Just listen to this female give her perch coo to her "husband." It's rather subdued as well as abbreviated, so you have to close to hear it. She is GORGEOUS!
This one is way better than the one they started atop a skinny branch. No idea what they were thinking. So I provided this platform in the area and they adopted it for building their nest, then returned every year to make a new one.
I’m watching this video because every morning on the outside AC unit i hear a dove crying. It’s too high to see it but I can see her tail moving if I look carefully. I’m not going to turn on the AC this year anyway so she can sit there and hatch the eggs, ive never seen dove babies before
Wonderful story! These mourning doves look so gentle. I learned how to cup my hands together to blow and make a very realistic mourning dove call. I can get males to fly closer by, as I apparently threaten their territory!
I'm hearing this on my AC outside, and saw mama, so hopefully it means i get to enjoy watching a nest of baby doves grow up this spring!
how are they now?
I love the sound Mourning Doves make when they flap their wings
Cassandra Mike Tango Me too
Same here
Cassandra Mike Tango The whirring has to do with the tapered shape of the wing, it’s built for speed.
Me too!
Ive held one of them before, they kept flapping their wings so hard and the sound was horrifying
Their wing whistles are nutty sounding. I like their coos.
That dove was like wtf is that a camera
Lol

what is that sound when they are flying
A Mourning Dove's wings have little slots in them that whistle when the wind goes through them when they fly.
Yes. I love that sound !
The ones I've seen around me are a little more brown in color?
Bummer of a screen name.
I think it's just the lighting. But yeah, most doves are darker.
Nice, need it a kill louder if possible because it's working
