  • CREMA DE FRUTAS is another Pinoy dessert composed of a sponge or chiffon cake layered with pastry cream and canned or fresh fruits and topped with a gelatin layer.
    This is our version of an English trifle. They top their trifle with whipped cream. We top ours with a gelatin layer. This is a classic in the Philippines. Enjoy my simple version.
    Chef's Notes:
    If your oven is big enough, use two, 12"x8" rectangular pan so it will bake faster. If you have. a small oven, use only one, 12"x8" rectangular pan and split the cake crosswise when it has baked and cooled.
