Hello Joni, such an impressive painting!! Kudos to you!! I started this one, my first one on such a large canvas, however I ran into the issue of canvas just drying out so quickly that I can barely do any blending effects. I used Michaels pro canvas 18x24, applied 2 coats of Gesso and a light coat of water like you suggested. But everything seems to dry off just so quickly. This has been a struggle for me for a long time. Would you mind telling the canvas and any primers you used here, and how many coats? Thank you!
I only use a little water to help spread and blend the paint. Make sure the room you’re painting in isn’t too warm as that can dry acrylics out too quickly. I use mid grade canvas and don’t prime or gesso anymore. The canvas comes double primed and there’s no need☺️

Im about 27 minutes in and in awe, what brand acrylics are you using and do you use a flow medium? I notice the darker purple color top of right wing stayed wet and i struggle with my acrylics drying too fast on me. This is amazing and truly inspirational.

There is a huge population of bald eagles on the island of Adak where I lived from 90-94. Once had one sitting on my driveway when I went out and as I came up to it, I thought it was a child squatting and hunched on the drive... it spread its wings and flew at me because it wanted the box I was shaking. Must have thought it was chicken nuggets... as it flew at me, I went down on my backside and the box went through the air, where the eagle attacked it and tore it to shreds
You inspire me to paint an eagle just like what you teach on your video but its hard to be like you 😍😍amazing
