What if the demon was Nocturne? Since the removal of Summoners and the League organization, Nocturne's lore was never properly renewed. In the old lore it says that he was haunting summoners, where as currently it says that he was haunting random people, but overall the story is the same. In his bio (the one from the Universe page) describes a similar thing to what happened to the inhabitants of Fossbarrow. This is a quote taken from the page: "Physicians were baffled until a nightmare-stricken man cried out a haunting name from his unconscious state, then stopped breathing". And then there is this part: "Magical energy arced from the man, and Nocturne appeared", which is similar to how a phantom appeared from the head of Aldo when he was executed. What if this is a rewritten origin lore of Nocturne, or merely a fallow-up from his bio in which it states that "Nocturned vanished into thin air". Most of what happens in the story makes sense since Nocturne is practically a physical manifestation of nightmares and him managing to conjure up something shadow creatures from people's nightmares may be showing the extent of his powers. Also, what if everything that happens in the story isn't actually real? What if every thing is just a nightmare that Lux, Garen and The Dauntless Vanguard are experiencing? When Garen is "impaled" in the shoulder, it says that the claw passed through the shoulderplate, which is weird since in the story where Garen enters the witch's cave, we learn that his armor is infused with petricite, meaning that the claw would have smashed itself into it's shoulder, and not pass through. Also, after Lux uses her magic to dispell the demon, Luca appears to be sitting and frightened. It does not specify anything of any physical injuries that were cause when Luca did that wide grin when he was possessed. Still, all of this may have actually happened and everything went back to normal the moment Lux banished the demon. Also, the part in which Aldo describes what he has saw is a lot like what Ryze was seeing when he was fighting Nocturne in the Twist of Fates cinematic. What do you think? P.S. I like how Riot classified this as a "short" story. EDIT: Nice change of thumbnail XD

The title of the paragraph is "A shadow on the horizon", and there's one particular group of words that made me also think this as well: "just the one that has been infesting my mind". "Infesting my mind", isn't this what happened in the story as well? Also the fact that it will be a jungle, and a decent amount of the story's action happens within a forest. Not to mention that the champion will be a transformation-type champion.
Stefan Marica Also, Nocturne as we know him now is a Mage killer, his Spellshield suggests he feeds off of magical energies, and makes himself stronger, not to mention as well that the lines 'The light is Fading' is used in this story at a climax point. And no other champion has any design space for Nightmares or Jungle, it's possible they wanted to keep details of this rework 'In the shadows' (pun intended) I'm 100% positive this is leading up to a Nocturne rework

I'm sad however, that Riot never updated Xin Zhao's lore during the Galio rework period because I would have loved to see what you would have done with that as far as a video goes. i love this dudes commentary especially 1 hour is awesome, smoke a joint go in bed and listen and then fall a sleep, like a free audio book and i dont mean this as an offence but some of the words you say in English you pronounce them or tone them in such a funny way and i find my self laughing in the darkness at 2 am while trying to sleep.Keep up the work man :)

I LOVE how Fiddlesticks rework trailer referenced this story. “The whole country has been on edge since Fossbarrow.” Just EXCELLENT, especially since darkness and fear run rampant in Demacia.
It is interesting that Edessa is a place in Greece and the name 'Demacia' was inspired by a location in the island Naxos(correct me if i am wrong) called Demalhia.
