You seriously nailed this my friend, a brilliant cover, and I’ve been listening to this song for 40 years, the rim shots at the beginning, nailed, the ride nailed, and the various fills, totally nailed!
Thank you, much appreciated :-)
The rimshots at the beginning is perfectly well played - I've been a drummer for four in a half years - you seriously got this part so perfect!
Thank u for the nice words! Keep up playing the drums🤗so much fun!
Daylight come and me want to go home 😂
Nice to know how brilliant Copeland's drumming with The Police was!
Brother, I hope you realize what you are doing is more impressive than what was played on the record. Copeland used a single snare delay to get those super fast doubles on the rim, what you have played here is incredibly impressive and even Stewart would give a smile and a “fuck yeah!” To see you play this
Thank you so much for the kind words! I am aware that SC used a delay machine in the studio (Roland Chorus Echo?), but felt fun to try and emulate/play what you actually hear in the drum production :-)
Woo dude.... I think even Stewart would say well done....Excellent cover.. Keep at it!!!
Thanks ever so much!😊
I wish I could give that 2 thumbs up!
Holy crap nice job man. I used to play along to this on the burger griddle when I was an 18 year old realising just how brilliant Copeland is. I can’t play drums but if I did……
Thanks so much!
Good work there mate.
Thanks!
Stewart Copeland...one of the greatest drummers as well!! I love the Police when I was growing up. I started with an old 5 piece Maxwin. I wanted to have the same set up as Copeland.... started from there.... thanks for the cover. Good to see classics like this!!
Thank you very much, and totally agree concerning SC and the Police😊
So fun!
I agree! 🙂
I’ve been a drummer for my whole life and those rim shots are still amazing to me.
Great cover of a great song
Thanks, and I agree (great song in deed)
One of the best drum parts ever. And.. you did it. Amazing.😊😂❤
Just amazing!
Thank you :-)
This wasnt just a ‘cover’! Long time since seing a drummer that played with rreal spirit. Nice!!!!!!👍💥
Thank you for the kind words, Nik! Appreciate that 🙂
you crushed this oh my god! sounds spot on to the studio track!
Thank you so much😊🙏🏼
Superb Mr!!!!.... Love the tight snap snare!!!
Thank you so much🙏🏼
you can cope bro....!Excellent!
Thanks!
Bravissimo!!!! Complimenti!!! Davvero Super
Thank u so much!!!

Thank you! 👍👍👍
Very good job!!!
Thank you very much, Pascal! 🙂
Very well played!! You captured all of Copeland's nuances, and, above all, his relentless energy. Any chance you could upload the isolated drum version? Many thanks in advance!
Duka ! Bom pacas !
this is the best thing i’ve ever seen
Thank you so much :-) Fun and intense song to play!
Not many people can," serve the song," and you my friend did. Well done!
Thank You So Much :-)
Looks like you didn't want to stop playing 😁
AMAZING!!! Could you PLEASE somehow write out the rim click intro?!?!? I've been dying to figure it out but can't!!!!
ohhhh..thats a tough one....hehe can see if Sibelius can somehow handle it 🙂
Nailed it dude
Thanks😊
That's for sure!
Great!!
Thank you, Emily!😊
A drummer that becomes the part! Long time since Ive seen the real drumming ‘spirit’.
Yeah. Remember when watching the drummer was fun? What happened to that? This guy knows.
Way to go !!!
Cheers, mate! 🙏🏼
Brutal
Very nice. I’ve always wondered how he did those 1000mph rim shots.
Thanks 🙂
Excelente, felicitaciones
That is the best rendition I've heard in a long time.. only thing I would say is because copeland holds the sticks differently there a different feel to the snap on the snare.... more people should look to Copeland for inspiration he has to be top 5 most creative drummer ever...
Thanks man!
👉💥💥EXCELENTE BATERO!!💥💥
very well done 👍
Thank you, Jim! 😊
Best Police song ever.. nice job!
I agree! Thanks alot😊🥁
@@tullin27 Maybe in the future we can cross DNA John Bonham and Stewart Copeland .. and create .. um .. well maybe it's not a good idea
Muy buena interpretación amigo,le pego a todas las notas bien,me pareció extraordinario.
Muchos Gracias 🙂
any idea what Promark sticks you use? - i use 7A's with Nylon Tips
in this clip I used Promark Rebound 5A Hickory Acorn Wood
Wanna want to know how this drummer felt when he played this Stewart Copeland drumming. Regards from Peru.
He felt pretty intense, with a good energy :-) great song to play on the drums ...
great
It's kind of hard to tell, and maybe this is obvious if you're a Copeland fan, but did you play this with a delay? He plays that beginning part through a delay to get those extra cross sticking sounds. (Maybe you are as well -- but the two tracks are overlaid in the mix. But just in case you don't know, that bit of info may make it easier to replicate.) If you already know this, I apologize -- I just couldn't tell if you were making things harder on yourself than you needed to. :)
I´m aware that Copeland used an echo machine w delay effect to get those interesting layered hat/rim complex rythmic combinations. Im here using the yamaha ead 10 to get an similar delay effect, even tho all hat/rims are actually being played out. Im curious if some of the toms parts could have been overdubbed...Anyhow, I´ve definately made things harder for myself on this one with the sole purpose of trying to play the drum part as close to what I´m hearing/interpret :-) Bear in mind, I´ve listen to the track for years and dug into it by listening, but only ever played along to it during a couple of runthroughs..
Niiiicee
how did you begin to learn to play this? I want to learn it just not sure how to start
I guess its all about the ears that hears and interpret it to hands/feet, if that makes sense 😉🤹🏻#learningbydoing
😍😍😍😍
Copeland uses digital delay on the rim clips at the start. He didn't do it like that. Jus' sayin' 😉. Otherwise brilliant ! 😊
Thank you! I am aware of that, was just fun to try and emulate and play what I´m actually hearing in the drum part!
Stewart is God
Not the jazz grip
So what
Tired just watching! Amazing cover
Who is Rico ?
Granma arriba de un cometa ayayaay...
Funny how you actually played it, while Stewart used a delay when recording the intro
😊😊😊
Well done!
Thanks, appreciate it!
His hands are a blur!
Kids, this man is an incredibly skilled drummer. Copeland is not for the meek.
Thank you for the kind words🙏🏼😊
Very good....minus lots of fill ins and extra stuff that Stewart would do...it's average
I´ve only tried to cover the album version, but im pretty sure Mr.Copeland would do more fill ins and accents in a live concert environment. Thanks tho!
It wasn’t just you drumming
