Penser que toutes ces maquettes sont en papier ou en carton laisse rêveur. C'est absolument superbe et l'on pense à ceux qui les ont fabriqué et façonné et aux heures de patience qu'il a fallu. Bravo.

At the exhibition, models were not only made of paper, a large part was also made from plastic kits.

I occasionally do some model ships in 1/1200 scale from paper as light relief from my more usual railway modelling. It's very relaxing.

I make cardboard models of almost everything military, tanks, planes, ships, artillery, guns, helmets, hats, rockets, etc etc... In my little new england town, nobody cares. I cant get noticed. My local art stores are all lefty liberal hippie types and seemingly dont care for " war stuff". Its sad, because they also say its amazing, museum quality stuff, but dont want anything to do with it. I wound up giving a lot of it away to people because our small apartment only has so much room and im such a prolific builder, they wind up outside on the porch to suffer our awful new england weather where they warp and melt. I gave a friend my giant Edmund Fitzgerald for doing my taxes. My giant great eastern is down cellar at my dads as is my large scale Emden ww1 german cruiser. I have built most of the kriegsmarine and regia marina too... Its too bad, theyre in bags down cellar mouldering away.
