I'm inclined to agree with you but I also think that 2 k 24 has some of the worst physics of any 2k. Blocks when you don't actually contact the ball collision animations are kind of ass. If the game doesn't give you a hip riding animation the guy will slide off of you like your covered grease. There's way too much contact allowed For NBA simulation game they haven't gotten the memo that the non-contact area means just that no contact.
Bruh the issue with zone is it's broken on 2k and always have been that's why ppl put the controller down. Zone broken bcuz the court is too small not wide enough where ppl can cover two ppl in two different areas which is b.s. then 2k always, always have rewarded ppl for not playing actual defense just reach spam/passing lanes. More factual nonsense in real bball ppl play 2-3 zone against teams who cant shoot on 2k ppl play it and it can prevent ppl from shooting 3s that right there should tell it's broken af. Ngl you need to learn to use right stick ripper, pressing the steal isn’t reliable. I get 2-3 steals with a 60 steal on my Luke build On my 89 steal lock I get 3-5 steals a game, on my 91 steal build I average a 7 steals a game
And the fact he talking about team rec ? He always got players a full squad . Zone is the end all because we play a full squad with a random or 2 . 2k says 3 people is a squad and will go against a full squad . Very disappointed he acted like that’s not a thing
Exactly that's one of the reasons I stopped playing. It made me stop trying bc I know the record is not gonna matter next season. I like playing to win but this 2k doesn't reward that.
The steals HAVE BEEN THAT WAY noticed it last year. They reward terrible players that don’t know what they’re doing with the ball and BEST BELIEVE they pick it up and either get 1. Bullshit animation for a layup or dunk 2. Pass it to a wide open teammate that ends up hitting the shot
them are not steals you them are body bumping the ball you can do that with a 25 steal get a real onball steal the old animation we use to see when you pluck the ball not the ball or them bumping your body & you getting a steal
The 2k dev probably don’t ever watch real nba games, they probably never see how it’s almost impossible to dribble in front of elite defender (ex: kawhi) not even cp3 the top playmaker can do so. 2k is unrealistic because you can always dribble so much and barely get steal, you never dribble that much in real life. And in 2k the dribble take up so many space, you never see someone in real life dribble take up so many space and dribble one side of court to other side of court.
oddly enough i feel i get more steals with gold unpluckable than HoF. 2. Koster, in my opinion i feel a lot of streamers/Yt’s show case heavy offensive builds and thats a problem because a lot of casuals or new players copy them and have no defense. and because of their inexperience they cost games, not only because they cant play defense but they have no attributes working for them. Heavy offense builds is helping no one because they will still brick with 99 3 ball and have 0 defense. they should be getting use to balanced builds not only will they learn their lane with lower offensive attributes and improve little by little but at least have some defense to assist them and their team. I got a SF with 93 perimeter and 85 strength and 91 steal i get steals but i definitely need practice.. but cant just have a high steal because without perimeter D u wont have certain badges that compliment steals. But i am focused on my clamping and steals are only for the perfect situation..people have no D but super high steal and just reach all day..
I usually don't comment on vids but you asked so I will. All offense/no defense getting hate... you asked why? Ok, so running with your homies no one cares what build you make. NO ONE CARES!! How many times have you seen a 3pt shot hunter step into the Solo Rec with a 99 3ptr all offense build and think that entitles him to take every shot? Then go 1-15, play no defense, and sell everyone by calling all the time outs because people don't want to set him screens and watch him dribble the ball for 20 seconds every possession. IMO those builds get a bad rap because a lot of toxic behavior comes with those builds. A guy playing defense with a lock is there to shut down points. He isn't gonna call all the time outs because he didn't get a steal. Totally different mindset with both builds.
Nah zone is annoying because squad rec doesn't always mean 5v5. You could be with 3 guys matched with 2 Randoms or just 4 guys. If you are zone defense full 5 stack and in the rec its just cuz you want to beat up on lesser matchups which is fine but you cant say oh just get better when the same can be said for you playing in the pro am.

I personally don't like people who don't have defense on their bills because if the guy claps you up you are completely useless now you can't even put the clamps back on. Every single defense specific build has at least one offensive trait that. Having 25 in all your defensive categories is straits bs

@kwm1999 yeah its really hard to have 99 stats this year and still be a well rounded build. I have a 99 rebound on one of my builds and it's way to hard to factor in shooting so it's just an inside. I've never played with a 99 steal , I have 91 and it seems to work pretty well! Is 95 hof interceptor?

My build is decent it just is losing in the playmaking aspect but I made up for it with a high pass accuracy. 90 midrange and 85 3ball so I still get buckets just have to have a team with passing IQ. I’m thinking I’m still learning timing for steals too it’s kind of a learning curve if you never had it on your player

I think they really nerfed right stick ripper a lot of the times I have the perfect position to use it and it just doesn't register or it's and automatic foul or I just that weired Ani where he kinda lounges for the ball and the guy goes right by me
I agree with picking up the ball after you pluck them every time you do pluck them you should get the ball, but people want this game too be realistic and to have people averaging 6+ steals per game when in real life the best lockdown defenders average about 2 more or less so simply doesn’t make sense for people to always be plucking people all the time, I’d get it if the game leaned towards more an arcade style of play, but I also think it’s more of a problem with the unpluckable badge than steals

Steals are definitely not nerfed. The first day this patched released my 85 steal got 4 steals in one game. I was playing 1v1 and he has 3 steals also. It’s still the same if you do a dribble move they are taking it from you.
🎓. Way too many builds have no defense to garner hate. Steals are fine. I use 85 and 91 consistently with right stick ripper. If the ball handle and badges with it are under the denlfender's, the ball should be mine
You can definitely still get steals but they kinda feel unrealistic now trying to time steals feel pointless now because they will just have you swipe at it or next to the ball
If you need high defense attributes to lock up it isnt the game. Learn positioning. Bump steals go a long way. I just got 3 steals and 3 blocks on my 6'10 kd build in rec and it only has bronze interceptor and bronze anchor.
hey badge i made a build with a 91 steal would you say it’s worth playing on the build still? if not then it sucks seeing how i upgraded to build to an 89 ovr so seeing that much vc go to waste is disappointing
One thing I noticed is I will blitz at the right time and it yo-yos right back to them after poking it loose… they definitely nerfed it but it doesn’t change how I play lock in still highly effective
The 91 steal did get penalized I don’t know how bad yet because I’ve played one game but there was times where I thought I should have gotten the steal but didn’t
Been thinking of making a 6’5 98 3pt with 85 steal. But if steal really got nerfed odee then I might not put steal and I will put it on 75 driving dunk.

IMO those builds get a bad rap because a lot of toxic behavior comes with those builds. A guy playing defense with a lock is there to shut down points. He isn't gonna call all the time outs because he didn't get a steal. Totally different mindset with both builds.
Nah zone is annoying because squad rec doesn't always mean 5v5. You could be with 3 guys matched with 2 Randoms or just 4 guys. If you are zone defense full 5 stack and in the rec its just cuz you want to beat up on lesser matchups which is fine but you cant say oh just get better when the same can be said for you playing in the pro am.

Bro I just made a Kawhi Leonard build and a Mikal Bridges build those builds I made have 87 steal and a 83 steal it doesn’t make any sense of 2k nerfing the steals especially when I don’t play on lockdowns all like that honestly smh 🤦🏿♂️
Yooooooo its like 2k gives offensive players a chance to correct their error smh they def touched it. Its sucks because creating a lock sacrifices the rest of your build pretty much and to b penalized really sucks
It’s nerfed I had more success trying right stick ripper than pressing x and even with interceptor I only get reflects unless they have a low pass rating

I personally don't like people who don't have defense on their bills because if the guy claps you up you are completely useless now you can't even put the clamps back on. Every single defense specific build has at least one offensive trait that. Having 25 in all your defensive categories is straits bs
Just made a 99steal before I realized they nerfed it into the ground and it takes away the craziest amount of attributes from other useful categories
99 steal is overkill
@@windycityassasin5236 yeah I was hoping there was a reason 99 steal cost so much and found out the hard way. I would rather have a 95 overall w HOF interceptor and be able to upgrade my dunking or ball handle a decent amount more.
@kwm1999 yeah its really hard to have 99 stats this year and still be a well rounded build. I have a 99 rebound on one of my builds and it's way to hard to factor in shooting so it's just an inside. I've never played with a 99 steal , I have 91 and it seems to work pretty well! Is 95 hof interceptor?

My build is decent it just is losing in the playmaking aspect but I made up for it with a high pass accuracy. 90 midrange and 85 3ball so I still get buckets just have to have a team with passing IQ. I’m thinking I’m still learning timing for steals too it’s kind of a learning curve if you never had it on your player
U should redo the video and try to do use right stick ripper for on ball steals, bump steals will remain the same buh same rip same ball hand steal increases steal success by 20%

I think they really nerfed right stick ripper a lot of the times I have the perfect position to use it and it just doesn't register or it's and automatic foul or I just that weired Ani where he kinda lounges for the ball and the guy goes right by me
I agree with picking up the ball after you pluck them every time you do pluck them you should get the ball, but people want this game too be realistic and to have people averaging 6+ steals per game when in real life the best lockdown defenders average about 2 more or less so simply doesn’t make sense for people to always be plucking people all the time, I’d get it if the game leaned towards more an arcade style of play, but I also think it’s more of a problem with the unpluckable badge than steals
When i use the right stick I feel like i get more steals but the way they be picking the ball up after I poke it is annoying asl they need tone that bs down
Steals are definitely not nerfed. The first day this patched released my 85 steal got 4 steals in one game. I was playing 1v1 and he has 3 steals also. It’s still the same if you do a dribble move they are taking it from you.

🎓. Way too many builds have no defense to garner hate. Steals are fine. I use 85 and 91 consistently with right stick ripper. If the ball handle and badges with it are under the denlfender's, the ball should be mine
I have a 25 steal and get steals but when I know it’s going to be a pluck it dosent happen and you can see it’s clearly a steal
Got rid of the crazy animations they would put the ball handler in when they get poked now they just react better

You can definitely still get steals but they kinda feel unrealistic now trying to time steals feel pointless now because they will just have you swipe at it or next to the ball

If you need high defense attributes to lock up it isnt the game. Learn positioning. Bump steals go a long way. I just got 3 steals and 3 blocks on my 6'10 kd build in rec and it only has bronze interceptor and bronze anchor.

One thing I noticed is I will blitz at the right time and it yo-yos right back to them after poking it loose… they definitely nerfed it but it doesn’t change how I play lock in still highly effective

The 91 steal did get penalized I don’t know how bad yet because I’ve played one game but there was times where I thought I should have gotten the steal but didn’t

Been thinking of making a 6’5 98 3pt with 85 steal. But if steal really got nerfed odee then I might not put steal and I will put it on 75 driving dunk.
ngl i only play lock .. .only thing i noticed is X/square is bad now but right stick goes crazy now but it punish heavy if you mess up
