Today i've ordered the Bangkok Flame Shorts Size M and The Bangkok Flame Gloves 12 OZ what do you think about it? And the Matrix White Shin Guards also...
A lot of people complain too much about how long gloves last, main issue is how long they take to break in. How were these out of the box? Based off a review on Buakaw's new gloves they come broken in right out of the box and I'm pretty sure Yokkao is making them, they look identical
Honestly I’ve felt comfortable with both yokkao and Fairfax gloves out of the box. The only thing that may have needed breaking in was the Fairfax kick pads.
Thank you for the video. I have been looking for yokkao glove reviews and saw this one and didnt remember seeing it in the past few days, no wonder its only been on here for 7 hours. Lol. Nice to see a yokkao review, there is not very many on youtube.
Thanks man! Yah I was surprised that not many people have put up reviews. I was real scared to buy anything from them at first cause they’re so far from me + Thai sizing is a bit different than US. Regardless, I’ll put up reviews of the other stuff I have from them this week!
yo! just wanted to let you know that I made a review on my handwraps as well. I think i'll work on the shin guard review this week and that should round out all the YOKKAO gear I have for now! ruclips.net/video/UQE48W144LI/видео.html
@@JoseFonseca-cl3fd oh man! I'm sorry they didn't work out for you. Me personally, i wrap the velcro as tight as possible, but have not run into this problem. Which top kings are you using?
I just got some hand me downs from my buddy on the 2017 model all white with tribal design. They are used pretty good but man they feel better than the twins and fairtex. I am going to buy their new gloves soon with the Miami tropical colors. All the gloves are now $165. Was it cheaper when you went to the home gym store?
Nice!!! I don’t remember them being that expensive, but they were the same price as online. You will save on shipping tho, which depending on location, could be expensive.
Izzy R. I actually JUST got some black ones but haven’t gotten to use them really due to the gym being closed😕 I’m really excited to see how they perform though.
Yo! Honestly I don’t think you can go wrong with either fairtex or yokkao from a durability perspective. End of the day, it comes down to cost and how they make you feel. Funny enough I went with fairtex first and later got yokkao haha
So I don’t know if you’d respond to this or not, but I noticed YOKKAO has boxing equipment, do they just sell the Muay Thai gloves under boxing? Or are they actually boxing gloves. Just curious because I’m a boxer and their gloves look amazing. 👌
Got the same gloves a year ago in 12oz . The monster design is thrashed on one glove but intact on the other. Leather and padding are still in great condition They still don't smell ( thankfully ) It feels like my thumb has borrowed its way through the padding on one glove and is now right below the leather, the other glove is fine Also these gloves are huge, make sure you like pillowy gloves before buying them. It could be an issue if you like thin and slick glove Only real complaints I have about these are: - the straps are very hard and stay that way, it may dig on your forearm if you like them tight - that huge rubber yokkao logo on the wrist is also very though, has sharp edges and suite a lot of relief. A sparring partner got cut on the eyebrow from slipping a punch.
Love your review of the gloves. I think since mine are so big, if they slip the glove, there’s no way that they’ll hit the rubber label haha. Crazy that one of your gloves as more wear than the other. Is the worse one on your cross hand?
Can’t compare to twin since I haven’t used them. I’d say they are about the same depending on the weight that you buy. I remember buying 16oz and thinking they were huge.
Would be sick since everyone does initial reviews but no follow up and interested in how the leather and print lasted. Also what happened to the Fairtex!
@bigdaddygucciabg836 I still have it! Mostly let others use it when they come over to my place to train. Honestly it’s held up pretty well, but it could just be how hard I punch 😅
Me personally I don’t think it matters. That’s probably why you get mixed feelings. I only use my 16 oz, but I think in Thailand I mostly see 12oz. One thing you definitely need tho is hand wraps haha. Hope that helps!
@@izzyr__ thanks. I have hand wraps and I always wrap my hands but I use everlast 8oz gloves until now that cost 12.99 on my heavy bag and since the gyms closed and I've been doing like 12 rounds on it every few days my hands are real sore. Thanks for the reply
You’ll be using them for Muay Thai tho right? Both of them really are comparable. I’d go with the ones that make you feel motivated to train. For me, that’s just the yokkao ones
Do these gloves have thin padding on the knuckles? I got mine today in 10oz and the padding is crap i can feel my knuckles and the padding on the knuckles is flat and seems like it is broken in before it even got to me(padding is most dense near the velcro strap like the foam kinda went back in the glove underneath the leather) The left glove is different(seems deformed) than the right one and lighter almost a ounce Usually i wouldnt mind the small differences(cause i know its handmade so it cant match 100%) but im a southpaw and i switched from IMF type gloves (wich were good) to try these Now i dont know wether the gloves sre supposed to be that way pr maybe they got banged up during transport
Yeah it sounds like they became deformed as they shipped. I would reach out to them and see how they can help. As for the padding, mine are 16oz, so definitely no problems there. I DO have the fairtex open thumb bag gloves. prob 10oz or less, and i absolutely hate them. Was thinking of making a review of those gloves just to warn peeps.
@@izzyr__ nahhh I just tried my brothers new yokkao gloves but they probably need breaking in! He says it feels better now tho 👍 thanks heaps for the review
If you’re talking about gloves, I think they’ll fit any hand size. The size in ounces really only dictate how much padding is there and that’s the same for all gloves too! For reference, the ones in the video are 16oz.
Adding to @e recommendation, 16oz would be the minimal weight you should go given your size in regards to sparring, mitt work, and general training. I think 14oz could be okay for heavy bag.
I have a 16oz Yokkao and 12 oz fairtex, so not too fair of a comparison. I prefer yokkao 100%. The feeling when hitting pads with yokkao gloves and and wraps feels great!
I’ve never tried the yokkao Thai pads, so def listen to other people as well. If they’re more expensive than other name brands, then I’d go with the other name brands. Yokkao gear in general is p expensive and I think is worth it if you’re a big fan of them. From a durability perspective, I have confidence that it is top quality tho.
I have Yokkao Thai Pads and there are several pairs of them in my gym. They are extremely durable, but I do not think they are good for beginners to use. The reason I say this is because they are pretty firm and can definitely cause injury if you do not kick correctly (For example, kicking with your foot instead of shin). I have also used Fairtex, Trident Fight Gear, and a few others, and I will always go towards the Yokkao. Another reason I love them is that they definitely help with shin conditioning. If you have any other questions man, feel free to ask. I am happy to help!
Great respond. I only kicked yokkao pads at their training center in bangkok. They were softer then, but I’m guessing it’s because they were heavily used!
I think the larger gloves are known as sparring gloves b/c of the increased padding to protect your partner. 12oz to 16oz is good for me. The one in the vid is a 16!
I just bought those glove (14oz) they are arriving on sunday.... btw the image from where i bought them (amazon) show the same logo as yours at the wrist support but i saw some images with a different logo without the tiger, you know why?
Hmm I think the tiger is on the cuff in all of them. Some of the gloves I see on the site have sun beams behind the tiger tho. Link me here? I’ll take a look.
