Colleges are bad. I went to college back in the early 90's and I took a few classes recently and there was a night and day difference. They are little islands of totalitarianism. When John McEnroe was #1 in the world and dominating professional tennis, he wanted to be a rock star. He got a band together and surrounded himself with other (better) guitarists. His lack of true musical talent only seemed to fuel his ambition. I think of this when I listen to Joe Rogan sometimes. Anyone who has seen Joe's standup knows he is not a natural comedian. His jokes are one-dimensional, his delivery forced, his whole act feels a bit strained and self-conscious. When it comes to long-format live interviews, however, Joe is easily one of the best in the world. Really, who is better? He knows instinctively how to manage the arc and flow of a conversation, merging social commentary with intelligent, insightful inquiry. He holds his own with scientists, scholars, political figures, athletes, news personalities. It seems effortless for him, whether he's talking to one person or four. Stoned or sober, he just nails it show after show, and has single-handedly elevated the podcast into an art form. Despite these obvious gifts, he clearly wants to be thought of as a world-class comedian like Dave Chapelle, which he will never be. I find it puzzling.
I couldn't agree more. His MMA and podcast work is world class. He has a fantastically high EQ and is a true social chameleon with guests. He isn't a natural comedian though. But he works or has worked at it harder than most.
I completely agree with this. I absolutely love his podcast but I've tried to watch some of his stand up and it's just not very good. When Jerry Seinfeld performed at UC-Berkeley year ago, he wanted to go out for dinner after he show. Seinfeld said he was fine with anything except Mexican food. The student organizers said "That's totally wrong and racist." Jerry said "How can I be racist against guacamole?"
I dont think hes calling all liberals anything or all conservatives anything. People, including me, get tired of taking the time to spell out that theyre not speaking in generalizations. Anyone with a modicum of lingual intelligence/intuition would know that if he literally meant all liberals he would probably say "all liberals" 😒. If people were a little smarter and less sensitive there would be no need to qualify every fucking sentence
I think the problem is that uni students have the knowledge of your average adult (maybe a little above average because they're at university) but still have the wisdom and understanding of a young person. It's like when a kid cries and thinks their parents are going to jail because they accidentally ran a stop sign. They've been told that certain things are wrong or bad and they feel the need to act on it but don't understand just how little it really matters in a lot of cases. It's not a sign that the world is becoming too sensitive, it's just kids being kids. That being said, I think older people can become much too careless and think that everything they do is okay just because they've never had to face the concequences of their actions before. Ironically, those older people become super sensitive when you try to call them out for being an asshole when what they're doing/saying is a real problem.
Why does it surprise him that there are people in college that are virgins? Some of them just have those kind of values. I don't personally share those exact same values but I can understand and respect them, and I don't think it makes you a completely different person just because you haven't had sex. What exactly was his point there?
...so I infer he must have the opposite category in mind as well. Like the >100, >500, >1k girls club (or at least those who had more than him, however many that is). What "womanizing" has done for me is reducing my interest in casual sex from hyper to almost zero by mid 40s bc once you're past a certain nr the excitement goes out the window and all that's left is the potential problems any interaction with girls possibly brings about. What am saying is that on the one hand this "achievement" unlocks tremendous peace of mind (bc you know you don't have to prove anything anymore and have done several lives worth of dues) while at the same time taking one of the main natural motivators away from life (and no, babies are NOT a goal. Biggest turn off and danger there is). It's a lot like drugs. You can really spoil your system with meth level dopamines and get unparalleled experiences that the uninitiated can not even dream about. But the price you pay is that everything else will then just pale in comparison. It's a very tricky problem rating "life experiences " the way he does here
Sex is disgusting. You stick something in a foreign hole and risk getting STDs or an unwanted child, there are much safer alternatives that will bring you the same amount of pleasure and fulfilment. If you base your entire identity on getting laid and get depressed over it then it's just pathetic.
I love how Joe says the fix for bad speech is more speech, but when it comes to his own conduct, instead of performing at more college shows, he decides to do less speech
If i walk into a comedy show wherever it is and im offended or uncomfortable , i leave , i dont try and stop them i just leave, and i think everyone should do the same, some people r happy y mess it up for them
It would be so easy to say Joe has a silver spoon and what not but I'm 33. I remember fear factor. This man earned the right to choose to do or not do any damn thing in the world. I'm sure he doesn't read comment but its inspirational Joe Rogan. Pat McAfee is trying to duplicate what you did just with a different 1st few chapters.
I agree with Joe for the most part. I’m 18 and I’m surrounded by fucking children but not all of us are like that. I can guarantee that in my short life I’ve lived more than many adults. I’ve spent my whole life living with diabetes. I caught my dad fucking my best friends mom when my own mom was saying goodbye to her father after he suffered a stroke. I had to live through my sister being hit and killed by a car, and I cleaned my grandmothers blood up off the bathroom floor after she killed herself. I’ve lost close to half my extended family due to cancer and other ailments. I survived a suicide attempt after my brother walked in on me hanging myself. I’ve climbed twenty of Colorado’s fourteeners with my brother alone. I spent years away from my parents living in Medellin colombia. I saved up and bought a sailboat with my brother while living with my uncle on a small island of colombia called provedencia. I found myself backpacking through the San Juan mountains with my brother, sleeping in hammocks and staring at the Milky Way. I’ve suffered heartache and pain, life and death. Yet I persist. Joes right when he says young people haven’t lived-for the most part that is.
Yeah corporate gigs are like being on a bad field trip with your coworkers and no one wants that. You can't really let your hair down and enjoy as you would an evening out.
I have friends who will no longer do gigs at college campuses. There are now committees where you have to get your jokes pre-screened. One friend who is South Korean was going to do jokes about South Koreans. The committee said his jokes were offensive and racist. He told them he was South Korean, so could his jokes be racist. It was still a no go.
Did a year of college when I was a shitbag 18 year old, dropped out and joined the army for 4 years. Went back to school afterwards and realized I had nothing to say to anyone there.
It’s funny how Joe Rogan says that he doesn’t like performing for younger people because they can’t relate to his comedy, because when I was 15 years old I became a massive fan of George Carlin and even though I didn’t have much life experience I feel like I totally understood what he talked about in his stand up
How is it surprising that around 10% of college age kids are virgins? Maybe it's hard to understand being a guy that was probably pulling new tail every week in high school, but for us normal people, Joe, being an 18 year old virgin was a normal thing.
interesting point. If I had been at a party with STP I might have only listened for a little bit, despite how awesome I might have thought it was that they were there. Just not the right time.
I'm 19 and I've had all the experience's you said that we don't have and prolly some you've never had not all of us young people are as sheltered as the rest of are age group
I hate having to spoon feed people where you have to explain every single detail of a story just because they don’t have the thought capacity or imagination to follow the story, there’s a LOT of people like that out there.
This reminds me of the first episode of Silicon Valley where Kid Rock is playing someone tech Billionaire's back yard and literally NOBODY was giving a shit.
I know some people who have lived through more shit than some people will in a lifetime by 18. Age is just a number but I understand what he means by life experience.
Cam Lee joe said he couldn't believe it That about 10% Of them were virgins. I was laughing my ass Of because in my country Pakistan easily 99% Of teens are virgins.
Paris - and your point? and he said college is full of virgins, because they're more educated therefore tend to wait to have sexual relationships (nerds).. most college students are 18-20
This is ridiculous. Joe Rogan, Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Maher, and any other comedian or speaker - no matter how controversial - has the right to speak freely. Those who hate them don't have to listen, but they cannot "prohibit" them from speaking nor stop others from listening.
00:57 they may have disrupted a live performance but Guy Earle should have handled the situation better than what he did. can't really agree with you on this video joe
Joe, I need your help. I’m dating a midget and it’s not fun. It started of as a weird incounter on the POF app. I said hi how are u and she replied. She liked my truck. I took her for a ride in it and then dropped her off at her house. About 3 weeks ago she said she loved me, I thought ohhh shit. She saw I was at my job on the Pof app and showed up to the front office asking for me. My boss makes fun of me. I pissed in her bed in an attempt to make her hat me. This did not work. She want to meet my family. What the fuck do I do.
I saw STP at a casino and I saw Scott Weiland absolutely wrecked on dope.. dude couldn't keep his eyes open.. and he goes '1,2,1,2,3,4 I am I am I am" absolutely killing sex type thing.. and the whole performance was amazing.. I guess he did the hits so many times he could do it in is sleep.. literally.. how's that for a story Mr rogan..
3:28 ...I get Joe's comparison to music here, when it comes to preferring an adult audience, but fact is, persons of a certain age may like the music but only have an inkling of what the lyrics mean ...until years later. We've all been there, so I guess in that way, music gets a pass, because, how many songs have you liked for years and then one day realized a word ...or really listened to the lyrics for the first time. You liked the music so much you weren't missing anything, or at least, so you thought...
Having the ability to have your favorite band play for you personally should not be an option. lol If you have that option you've won just a little too hard.
Universities are dumb. Real intellectuals get their information from RUclips podcasts. Edit: this sarcastic comment was not trying to imply that all 'real intellectuals' have gone to university, or that everyone that goes to university is a real intellectual. However, someone that goes to university is more likely to be a real intellectual than someone who sits on their arse and watches RUclips all day. Would you rather your open heart surgery be performed by someone who went to med school, or by someone that stayed at home, drunk Pepsi and watched RUclips tutorials? This is about hard work, and the intellectual dark web are generally lazy individuals.
I was a virgin until I turned 18. And I don't feel "deranged" nor a social misfit because of that! lmao... On the opposite, since I wasn't rushing to get laid just to feel as part of some immature "wannabe manly manhood" like in the movies (or just to brag about out of some insecurity or lack of self-esteem), my 1st experiences with a lady were extremely satisfying (imho, learning to seek others pleasures on top of sharing intimacy, like a mean of mutual communication, is also part of gaining human maturity, at least in terms of sexuality).
Try being a 26 year old virgin after graduating college. I get the feeling if Joe Rogan heard about that or commented on that he would just freak out and think I am some kind of weirdo. He would probably just tell me to go work out and take DMT and then think of me next time he talks about beta males. It is just bewildering hearing people talk like they can barely get through life without girls falling on their dick. Then if I try to relate to other people about how I have never experienced anything remotely sexual with a girl other than the one who wanted to fuck me with a strap on they just act confused and assume I obviously haven't been doing X or it is my fault because if you go outside pussy should appear automatically.

Correct speech not more speech
I would've been rocking out with STP. Talk about a legendary band at some backyard birthday party.... crazy
Completely agree, I cant even have a proper conversation with someone who hasnt had life experience.
If i walk into a comedy show wherever it is and im offended or uncomfortable , i leave , i dont try and stop them i just leave, and i think everyone should do the same, some people r happy y mess it up for them
I saw joe in personal and i must admit he is one of the nicest person in the world. He even thought me some tips in Brazilian GAYjitsu
Why does the guest look like a macaroni penguin
lmao
You know exactly what you are going to see when you go to a comedy show especially when you are familiar with the acts.
Batman has beaten a T-Rex before, I call shenanigans BigBadToyStore.
Joe really loves saying “Stone temple pilots”...lol
Yeah corporate gigs are like being on a bad field trip with your coworkers and no one wants that. You can't really let your hair down and enjoy as you would an evening out.
Ok so someone heckles a comedian performing on stage
The comedian defends themselves
Gets sued and loses
...the world is really Fucked
Way too much college tail would be all over Joe and he’s a married man
The Kids are not alright.
hate to say it, but joe's comedy hasnt exactly got a requirement for maturity to get
I have friends who will no longer do gigs at college campuses.
It’s funny how Joe Rogan says that he doesn’t like performing for younger people because they can’t relate to his comedy, because when I was 15 years old I became a massive fan of George Carlin and even though I didn’t have much life experience I feel like I totally understood what he talked about in his stand up
4:13 I like how Joe got a little embarrassed before he said who Dana is. Kinda like he felt awkward that it would come off as bragging
I think it's because Gad Saad is Ariel Helwani's uncle... him and Dana hate each other.
I went to a corporate party where Collective Soul played exclusively for 3hrs. $$$$$
I have three teenaged daughters and they don’t get offended by anything. There are parents that reject teaching their kids to be this sensitive.
Joe Rogan you should come perform for the Marine Corps sometime. We’ll get what you’re saying
The death of independent thought. Brought to you by the most understanding and caring people.
Joe “before that DUDE passed away of an overdose” Rogan.
Alicia Whitlock get a life
How is it surprising that around 10% of college age kids are virgins? Maybe it's hard to understand being a guy that was probably pulling new tail every week in high school, but for us normal people, Joe, being an 18 year old virgin was a normal thing.
I'd be surprised if it was as low as 10% tbh. It's probably a lot higher.
@@MrBeaux Half?
I think joe underestimates the variety of minds and souls of people 18-22. There are so many possibilities for different types of backgrounds
interesting point. If I had been at a party with STP I might have only listened for a little bit, despite how awesome I might have thought it was that they were there. Just not the right time.
Joe Rogan is a decent conversationalist. Can’t say the same about his standup. He would get milo lvl revolts.
I'm 19 and I've had all the experience's you said that we don't have and prolly some you've never had not all of us young people are as sheltered as the rest of are age group
Cant fucking stop staring at Rogan's shining bald head and how well the headphones fit his round head.
I hate having to spoon feed people where you have to explain every single detail of a story just because they don’t have the thought capacity or imagination to follow the story, there’s a LOT of people like that out there.
i'm just trying to get to that point where i can decide shit like how i make money or if i make it at all
A regret I have of a favorite band I never got to see live is STP, for sure, especially now that Weiland's gone. That story at the end makes me sad.
He played at UIC this year and I saw it...... not sure wth he’s talking about
benstonewall22 this vid is from 2017
This reminds me of the first episode of Silicon Valley where Kid Rock is playing someone tech Billionaire's back yard and literally NOBODY was giving a shit.
Rogan is only opinion.
If you can only retain that, you're ahead.
Ugh...STP was my fav band and never got to see them in concert 😟
3:30- I remember the Jay-Z, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn tour. You got your money's worth at those shows.
That was a good one!
Joe “My target audience is love affairs” Rogan
I don't know if this is only me, but I retain the most things from listening to podcasts
Because they are too young. I saved you five and a half min.
Know your audience. There is a college audience for your brand of comedy. You just have to find the right scene
came straight from a video of seinfeld saying he never said he doesnt do colleges.
I know some people who have lived through more shit than some people will in a lifetime by 18. Age is just a number but I understand what he means by life experience.
Imagine having been dead 19 times by the age of 19.
Wow joe !! Powerful statement..
What's wrong with being a virgin, Joe? A lot of them would have been Christians right?
He didn't say anything was wrong with virgins, he said they wouldn't understand his jokes. Stop being so defensive
mad cuz u cant get laid?
Nautilus1972 *pukes*
Cam Lee joe said he couldn't believe it That about 10% Of them were virgins. I was laughing my ass Of because in my country Pakistan easily 99% Of teens are virgins.
Paris - and your point? and he said college is full of virgins, because they're more educated therefore tend to wait to have sexual relationships (nerds).. most college students are 18-20
Joe "Blow your mind, stone temple pirates" Rogan
Pirates hahaha!
who's interviewing who? Joe talks way more than his guests on every single episode
Its a podcast, son. Not an interview
Jones Jão holy shit i was about to say the exact same words XD
Yo joe im only 15 but ive been round house kicked straight in the face is that considered living?
This is ridiculous. Joe Rogan, Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Maher, and any other comedian or speaker - no matter how controversial - has the right to speak freely. Those who hate them don't have to listen, but they cannot "prohibit" them from speaking nor stop others from listening.
Wanna watch the Loma fight with my bjj gym? Love you man.
i’ve had all those experiences, unfortunately
it didn't stop vince champ
STP on a backyard WTF??
00:57 they may have disrupted a live performance but Guy Earle should have handled the situation better than what he did. can't really agree with you on this video joe
I already knew the answer before I clicked on the video.
Im 19 and ive lived more lives than most people youve had on your podcast
By 18 I had done it all. Now that I think of it by 16....life in the fast lane frfr
Its crazy youtube mentioned this after i watched the Nimesh Patel getting thrown out that college cauae they couldn't handle his jokes
I think there's a difference though between people you like talking to in your own time and people your performing for.
Joe "I wanna talk to people who have had affairs" Rogan
😂😂😂
i know how to tell my parents now thanks joe
Dam that would be been cool to see STP play a private show at Dana Whites birthday
You could talk to college kids about Quake
This is about hard work, and the intellectual dark web are generally lazy individuals.
lmao
You think the entirety of UC Berkeley is a bad school?
crazy to read but it's actually relatively true
The comment was intended as satire.
Phil Bear Just the liberals
Political correctness has been slowly killing live comedy.
D D Jay political correctness kills
If we cant laugh at ourselves...then we are dorks and i have no reason to live
and society
It's been killing the economy too
It’s straight from hell.....😑
We shouldn't have let Michael Richards' career die because of one bad bit.
That was the beginning of all of this.
“Nothing wrong with being”--thinking he’s going to say “a virgin” and he says “in college.”
Maybe both
Lmao he had no chill on this one
2:40 So out of 200 college kids 20 are virgins... and don't get me wrong... There's nothing wrong with being... in college
I died :D
There's no issue
with being a virgin I don't understand why he's talking like that
1234 no he was talking about the college audience not just 18 year olds
Then if I try to relate to other people about how I have never experienced anything remotely sexual with a girl other than the one who wanted to fuck me with a strap on they just act confused and assume I obviously haven't been doing X or it is my fault because if you go outside pussy should appear automatically.
virgins act so insecure tho lmaooo
Joe "you're a Virgin?" Rogan
