Melee Lone Wolf. Starting Stats; Agility, Dexterity, Strength, Wisdom (85). Mechanical, Explosive, Medical, Marksmanship, Leadership (30). Health (60). Starting Perks; Hand to Hand, Martial Arts, Negotiator. Leveling perks. Agility perks; Hit and Run, Fast Runner, Lightning Reflexes, Anatomical Precision. Strength, Breech and Clear, Killing Spree, Sudden Strike, True Strike, Line Breaker. Required gear, Deathsquad Armor from the Shaman in Refugee Camp, The Thing from Luigi and Joseph. Melee weapons do not require repair (for some reason), Marksmanship negated. Throw yourself into a group of enemies while in free move, let them initiate turn based combat, half of them will be dead without you spending a single action point. I just did solo on the hardest difficulty, unforgiving, not iron man, not dead is a dead. Never used a firearm, did barely any sneaking, I had a rocket launcher but I rarely used it. You need Dexterity for melee accuracy. You could split the points opposite with Health(30) and Leadership(60) if you plan on training militia. I did not.
You start with 85 wisdom, all other skills can be trained. I had 90 in all skills and almost wisdom too before i moved off the island, hiring one merc at a time to train my i.m.p. merc. After that i killed the poachers with barry and removed barry and got flay instead by finding him. Then you can train flay a bit, especially marksmanship. Some of what we see in the video is not possible, at least not in the same sequence of turns. If you throw a grenade.. the enemy in the next rooms or vicinity hear that. Unless you know a way to put a silencer on it.
I would recommend the reactive fire perk and i leave the rest up to you to decide. I always choose the perk with 5% crit per aim level on any merc that i have first. And besides a sniper rifle i prefer the single handed desert eagle with .50 cal barrel upgrade. It has low use of AP when the enemy is very close by. And yes it can have a silencer.
The G36 though made me just as happy compared to any sniper rifle. But the 'problem' here is if you make it shoot accurate for burst or automatic, you cannot have a silencer on it at the same time. So it's a weapon that's going to make noise. But low AP usage and a grenade launcher on it and it has a much wider overwatch cone compared to sniper rifles. I also love the RPK and M42 once fully upgraded.
I found a sharpened knife better than machete. 3AP instead of 4AP per stack. Running inside a group enemies and slothering them with knife. Figting hand to hand with Aligator or a pack of Hiena. Fun
The way i see it, choosing to hire Livewire instead of using the I.M.P merc would be the best option, as her poor marksmanship will skyrocket after a while of using her and her unique ability is invaluable in seeing where all the opposition is.

Thx for this Tip!
One thing i dont know until today is that fast runner is negated with medium armor(or heavy - deathsquad armor) chr_isso made tests.
@@capieluky good point
This game looks fun. Thanks for the guide, Karolinger!
This game remembered me Commandos: Beyond enemy lines and Beyond the call of duty. Lovely games from my childhood.
yes, I feel the same 😁
I`m a big Fan of the Jagged alliance Series, very cool game series.
This is a very solid looking game. Going to give this one a try for sure. o7

I did lone wolf with a melee only merc. That was fun and very very silly. Imagine one merc with armed with only a machete taking out a small army. :D
But that sounds fun too 😄

You say that you can get an M42 early in the game - did oyu mean M82? If so, where do you get it? You can get an Dragunov at C6, which is also nice.
yes, that was the M82 😁

that's a good idea too 🤞
Really Nice Game
What is your perks list you chosen?
I would have to look into that 👌
not my genre tbh ^^ but still looks nice
