Just so you know, it’s SoHyang ( So Young) also the other two ladies in the video are also “her”, she does back ups on most of her recordings! She is also a successful Fantasy Novelist, her two best known are, Anaxion and Crystal Castle, she plays guitar, speaks Chinese , French ,English as-well as her native! She is a 42 year old devote Christian and sings a lot in Churches around Korea and the World! Look up her story it is interesting! She sings to make people feel better not for fame! Amazing Artist, Singer and Spirit:-)) Here is , Bridge Over Troubled Water! It is also in English, though I find a lot of her best are in Korean and you feel them - no need for translation ! To truly understand who she is and why she is so beloved suggest checking out her Wikipedia page. She is a cancer survivor, was diagnosed in her early 20’s that unfortunately left her infertile during which she had just gotten married at that time. Since then she’s devoted her life to God and use her gift of singing to comfort and uplift her fans and listeners. She doesn’t sing for fame or wealth and has turned down every major international record label so she wouldn’t be swayed from her true calling. as a devout Christian who travels the world to spread the Lord’s message. She is an author as well as teaches music and has participated on several Korean variety shows performing live. She was invited by Michael Bolton to sing at his concert in Korea’ and offered to sing with him on his world tour which she declined. Also invited by David Foster to Japan to sing with Brian McKnight. As many have suggested, this song doesn’t paint the full picture of her amazing technique, agility and stamina of her vocal range. Everyone, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Lean On Me, Arirang Alone and many others will truly give you the power she possesses in her vocal mastery. She arranges all of her songs herself and manages always to seemingly make it her own. Every vocal coach who have reacted to her are always dumbfounded and either left in tears or with permanent goosebumps. People always want to compare her to other artists but she is in a league and class all her own. Period.

While it hints at her vocal skills, it's hardly a thorough representation of Sohyang's singing. While many like to compare Dimash and Sohyang, they are different singers with their own attributes other than their exceptional ability to dominate the stage.

So Hyang is 100% feelings and emotions. She is a CCM singer that has traveled the world singing and testifying through her singing comforting those that need it. She has turned down many contract offers to pursue her chosen path. This is a rare opening music video for a program for Olympic Athletes that will not be participating because of Covid. I'm glad your starting your adventure into her world. Hold on.

Great reaction! This was definitely a very unique and well done cover and she did an amazing job as always! However, as amazing as this performance was, it's also far from her most demanding or emotionally intense in my opinion. Perhaps you'd find more emotion in "Everyone," "Bridge Over Troubled Water." "You Raise Me Up," or "Arirang Alone." But obviously emotion is subjective and depends on the listener. But I'd recommend giving those a try and seeing what you think!

I'm glad you took my advice and started her journey, but this wasn't a song that showcased 100% her voice and the emotions that she can bring to a song. I suggest doing more songs from her and really get to know her...

Pretty sure that when people mentioned that she's the female version of Dimash, they had her more powerful performances in mind. She's amazing here but this is only like 20% of her power. lol. Definitely need to react to any performances she's done on the Korean shows Immortal Songs, I Am a Singer, or King of Masked Singer :)

to tell the truth, I searched what the hell dimash is right after finding the comments mentioned dimash by pilipinas in lots of SOHYANG'S videos.
that's too disrespectful. such a behavior by the people in your country(philippines) is too much impolite.
the obvious fact is people over the world literally don't care about the country whose individual GDP is under just 3,000 US dollars.

Sohyang is just about as good as it gets when it comes to showing emotion whilst singing,its one of the things she is renowned for. This is a music video which she doesn't usually do & the majority of her performances are live ones from various shows,with a live orchestra/band. Like dimash,she has the ability to make you feel & understand the story,even when she's singing in a language that you dont understand, but unlike dimash,she often sings in english & because she speaks english,she doesn't have an obvious asian accent when singing

Along with flawless vocal techniques and incredible high notes she can hit, So Hyang is best known for her ability to express and deliver the raw emotions. FYI, here's a interesting video 'When Vocal Coaches Got Emotionally slayed By Sohyang'. See how they react after hearing So Hyangs' emotionally charged performances. She emotes better than almost any singer I have ever heard in my opinion. I admit that I am not a huge Dimash fan as I do not get the emotional attachment to him others do, but that's what makes the world great, we all are different and like different things. As other's have said, like all great artists, her live versions are the best. Enjoy learning about and listening to her.

Holy Trinity, So Hyang, Morissette and Dimash. I like all three of them and none is replaceable with another. Each has their strengths. They should not be seen as rivals. So Hyang has the highest non whistle high notes, the fact she can reach notes that high without needing to whistle is making my head hurt. Morissette has the most range i have heard in a female. She can reach low full sounds and go out of this world in the most controlled whistle tones. She can sing melodies with just the whistle. Dimash is amazing as a person always going out of his comfort zone with languages, discovering and showcasing other cultures and his range is amazing. Once again none are meant to be a replacement for the other. I don't want to hear Dimash singing a princess role in a disney movie, I don't want Morissette singing Opera2 and i don't want So Hyang singing Akin Ka na Lang. This song is perfect to compare Morissette and So Hyang on how they achieved perfection in their own way. So Hyang can't reach low notes so she replaced them with angelic whispers and Morissette can't thin out a note without a whistle so her version has intense power even on the high notes.

It's not something everyone is allowed to sit except So Hyang because she is a national treasure.
SoHyang can't reach low notes? What are you talking about? In term of supporting low notes, SoHyang is actually better than Morrisette. She uses a breathy low register here, which is her stylistic choice. Don't ever think that a person who reaches something higher or lower is better.

Morisette struggles with low notes from time to time. Watch her O holy night performance at a mall. First minute of the song was unbearable. Of course some of her minion trolls loves to criticize So Hyang's low notes. Both singer are sopranos so their low notes obviously is not gonna be great as their mid and high notes.

Sorry but you're wrong. She's as good or better at channeling her emotions into the song as Dimash. This video was made especially for a particular TV show and isn't her usual type of performance.

all 3 are Sohyang 3 different octaves Dimash is incredible but he's nothing but vocal gymnastics it gets boring his emotive ability is plastic in my ears anyone can make faces and movements but its not in his voice. Only seen a few performances with real emotion.
