    Thank you Daniel for covering all 4 games with your wonderful analysis and insights. Lots of hard work by you, much appreciated by all of us. What a tournament. An absolute classic. If the candidates is half as good as this we are in for a thriller. As things stand I do not give Ding much hope of retaining his title. Right time for a much needed lie down and 40 winks.

    I’m so pleased 😌 to have found your site Daniel . I remember your commentary on the Nigel Short - Gary Kasparov World championship games way back
    Brilliant 🤩

    oh wow that variation with Ra8 at the end... looks so innocuous yet is so powerful! Love that final position too. No checks for black otherwise the kamikaze queen would've saved the day!
    Really good tournament and really good coverage too! Just goes to show that, although a tournament loses a little pizzazz without Carlsen, his presence isn't essential to ensure it's exciting!

    Great tournament.
    It's a bit like the Wimbledon of Chess was assigned by a four way ping-pong tie breaker,
    but there was so much uncompromising Classical Chess by all players that we cannot complain, imho.
    Thanks for your videos!

    A beautiful game by Abdusattorov . Really showed the power of controlling the black squares . It would have been awesome had he found Ra8 at the end . It was a little confusing since you didn't point out that instead he had played Rg3 . Does that mean Donchenko could have held the game ? Anyway great analysis , Daniel .

    Can't help but notice that:
    - the top players are all calm on and off the board;
    - they had a shaky start and got back on track.

    It must take fantastic imagination to make an initiative like that effective. Between weaker players, I think Black would have done nothing for lack of anything to do, White also would have run out of ideas, and the game would have gradually drifted in favor of the rook.
