From what I remember I think you go to Developer and shape protection. Sorry haven't got a Visio license at the mo. But hopefully by removing the Shape protection should allow you to ungroup the Shape.
@@computertutoring Thank you so much. Oh yes, instead of using car or vehicles what other shape we can use? Can I use Man and Female object/shape? Maybe I use for calculate % of registration.
Nice tutorial! Is there a way of replacing the data on linked the excel spreadsheet (source data) by manually editing the info within the viso shape data window? i.e. change colour field box from grey to red. Although this change takes place within the shape data, is there a way of reflecting this change within the excel data?
Thank you for the video. I am using visio professional 2016 but I don't the option for icons in the shapes sub menu. How can I get that set of icons and more . . .
Hi if you don' have Icon Set in the Displayed as: list then your version might on be able to display a Icon Set (timestamp 21:48). My version is Visio Plan 2 (16.0.13029) Click Account - About Visio to see your version. Hope it's not a version issue 😟
Thanks for your tutorial. Question: I have a datagraphics where I want more text within a rectangular shape. I want two text fields - one in the Lower-Left corner and one in the Lower-Right corner. I want the LL to be left aligned (without label) and the LR to be right aligned without label. The LL is my challenge. How do I get this Data field Left aligned? Thanks in advance Stephen Odgaard (Copenhagen, DK)
Hi sorry for taking a little time to get back to you. I had a little muck about with the Edit Data Graphics as in my video sort of got it working. However, using the Text Block tool in the tools section on the home tab might be what you're looking for. Arrange your graphics as in the above tutorial video then go to Home tab and in the tools section is the Text Block tool (Ctrl & Shift & 4) if you can't find it. Then you can arrange the text on your shape as you wish. You might want to add the shape to a stencil afterwards - ruclips.net/video/tTpbi1JmKYk/видео.html
Yes saw what the problem was "Silly Me" I forgot to change the 'Maximum Value' to 1. I'd left it on 0.3 which would account for the progress bar being almost full by 23%. Sorry hope this helps. 1 - Right Click graphic - Data - Edit Data Graphic 2 - Add or edit the progress bar 3 - In Maximum Value enter '1'
I have been struggling to recreate something that I did in Visio 10 years ago. I created an office floor plan in AutoCAD. Imported the dwg into Visio. Each cubicle in the floor plan or office had a closed polyline around the perimeter of the office space. Inside this perimeter was also a piece of text that gave the space it. Then I could link an odbc database,, I was using Excel as the dB file to the Visio drawing and it would shade smart objects with a value based on a legend created inside Vizio. Like I said it was 10 years ago I actually have my document but I cannot figure out how to get to work with today's version of Vizio. Are you familiar with this process or point me in any direction or how to import the AutoCAD correctly and use Visio’s “Conver CAD Objects”
This was hella-entertaining and informational.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was excellent, thank you.
Awesome! It'd gonna be super useful to me! Tks for sharing!
Thanks for saying
😂😅 Sniffing the water to see if the fly was in there was my absolute favorite part!!
Lots of 🪰that summer
Thank you, Simon
My pleasure!
Great Video,
Good video. Thanks. Have you managed to control layers using Excel? That would be the icing on the cake
This is Great! Thank you.. One question, how to ungroup the car, I tried but it say shape protection, container etc..

Good question! I think that the data only goes one way.
Thank you for the video.

Ancient joke: If everyone in the UK drove a pink car, it would be a pink carnation.
Not bad, not bad at all 😂
Thanks for your tutorial.

The "progress bar" for the Grey cars shows .23 or 23% but is far more than halfway filled. Seems like something's amiss.
Well spotted didn't notice myself but will take a look

1 - Right Click graphic - Data - Edit Data Graphic

Sorry not familiar with the CAD objects in Visio.
👍
I do not have a pink car!
We'll never become a pink car nation at this rate 🌸
