The “pro” look does not need to be “expensive” but it does take a lot of time. Call times on pro video sets are often 5-6am and shooting with the “talent” doesn’t start till 11-noon! Each shot is set up, lit, tested with stand ins, tweaked and perfected (often before the talent is on set!)
Planning, planning planning. Professional results come from experience and attention to all the details.
💯
So true!!
Color grading is also an essential part of making a music video look “professional”. Thanks for the other tips man
No more letting artists pick their own outfits 😂
Lol
this made me lol. so true
Especially white colours....lol
Man bro you are 💯 on this I have got to be more firm with this
This was a really good video. I like when you do videos like this.
same!
Shoutout from India for using Bollywood music video as your reference to illustrate the importance of ''Professional Look''
Thanks YC - big fan!
WHYYYYY do you drop sooooo many jewels for free like this?
I feel like I'm stealing something LMAO
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks for the tips!
So nice to see a channel talking beyond the lens/camera/gimbal you have!
Love your vid broo!!! You're so underrated and it is so cool how you have progressed so far !!
Great tips. The issue when working with some artist some have there own ideas that really make know since visually. As a director we can only advise. If they don't listen we have to figure out how to make it visually pleasing. If we don't the director gets blamed lol
please could you do more tutorials on grading - your 'look' is so consistent
Thank you for another blast of a video bruv...bless.
Pre-pro is KEY!!! Asking and answering the 5 W's for each scene. Also creating those questions for the audience to ask with each scene.
A couple things that adds a professional look is Editing & Color Grading. I feel like a lot of upcoming directors overlook that and another thing is just simply PRE-Production like actually taking the time to come up with a valuable concept and executing it in a Professional fashion. The two things that you mentioned are true but a lot people won’t simply take their time with their projects to do Pre & Post Production to make Real Art.
Lighting is key for me bro obviously your lighting game is past Mars and Jupiter! That's a huge key for a "professional look" I never knew the exact definition of "professional" either.. I'm with you 1000000 Percent
Very very informing bro
Definitely the set design and wardrobe...Definitely agree. Choreography helps too.
dude perfect timing. i completely agree and am shooting my first music video this week. thanks for this and your thoughts super encouraging
Dude perfect lol
Most of these music videos don't make any sense now days a lot of demonic stuff going on. You are better than most of these directors out here keep doing your thing king 💯
Speak the truth ✊🏿
Color Grading can be an absolute make or break factor as well when trying to achieve that "pro" look
Awesome video brotha, very educational lol. I hope to do a music video soon. Love your style
Set design is definitely a tough one when it comes to indie rap artist. They barley want to pay what you deserve for your time and editing.
keep at it you got this
@@RomanWasntBuiltInADay 💪💪Thanks boss!!
Cuz a lot of them ain't making any money. Artists need to find ways to monitize they work beyond just streaming

dope settings
KENYA @ BRO THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION
Great video! Looking at old B&W Hollywood movies.. the costuming, set design, and lighting all had to work together to sell the point of the scene. The only other things missing from achieving the "professional look" is exposure and composition.
You continue to provide great value and quality... appreciate every video you create.. thank you 👏👏
a easy way I think you can give your videos a more pro look is to incorporate smooth zooms and pans into you B-roll. that simple zoom does a lot! also try to master your cameras exposure settings
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 you are sent from somewhere up above
One idea comes to mind is "Theme" or subject matter of the song/beat. Not going to get the trap vibes for a video looking like a luxury R&B mood/background.
Thank you for making this video!
Fire 🔥 video thanks bro
Loved this video it was on time for me I was wondering how to up my game and what it’s going to take, I’ll probably watch it a few more times because of the valuable info.
Your videos are sooo helpful! Keep it up!
I've shot a bunch of music videos and I watch them all the time, and one of the things I think bothers me most is "continuity." Now this usually tends to happen when the director or artist is trying to get across some cinematic element in a shoot, but since it's a music video time constraints don't allow them to get in all the parts of a scene that would make sense. It's like the worst cliff hangers ever.
I really needed this video to prove my point on proper styling before my next project thanks man 🙌
Your very talented, amazing work. Wow 🤩 thanks for educating me further. Stay Safe Regards Roland
Between you and Creative Ryan, I've learned a lot. I'm still going through growing pains as I develop but your collective knowledge is invaluable. Great work.
100% Facts Homie..... I always tell the artist to buy new clothes and try and match the color scheme and get a haircut and definitly brush their teeth and get the eye boogers out of their eyes and lotion up so the don't look ashy because the camera is going to pick up every little flaw... lent, yellow teeth ect ect...
Liked b4 I watched ❤️🙏🏽💪🏽
Would you know of a camera(s) in the $800-$1000 range that would be pretty decent? I'm not ever going to do this for a living, but I want to not only make my own music videos, but I wrote a song trilogy and the music video treatment for the three songs make them come together into a 15 minute short film type of thing. I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro and have been looking on RUclips the past few weeks to expand my knowledge, I didn't even know what LUTs were. And now I'm starting to feel like my GoPro Hero 7 that I use on my scuba diving trips isn't going to get me the quality I want. So I'd like to get a camera where I can change out the lens and get different focal lengths. And have more control over the aperture, shutter speed, etc. I'm hoping the camera model(s) you recommend are going to have a dive housing available as I've also wanted to upgrade my diving videos/photos, too. But I can't justify spending too, too much since I can only dive a couple times a year when I go on trips and then be making music videos for myself. Thank you.
Im a photographer recently started making videos, your channel its helping me a lot so i dont make mistakes from the beginning, keep going i love what you do and im sure a lot of people needs your content !!!
Great video,keep it up!📯
The lighting honestly speaks better. Also colours of an outfit
for me, i think grading makes a lot of projects stand out.
Nice tips bro
🙏🏼 thank you for sharing brotherman, you the best
Great video as always
Top tips 💯
Great points man, thanks. How did you learn lighting? That's my area of focus right now. Also, can you share how you got your first few clients as a director?
So many great tips!
Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 is camping ⛺️ here. Thank you YC
Do you think planning is a big addition as well like scripting and shortlisting, but depending on the nature of your video.
Great commentary!
Thanks fam
Goated
You killed this man, Bravo.
Yo super dope video! Will you be shooting more Short Films? I really liked the last one
What music video are you referencing around the 6:00 mark?
Yesss 💎 talk that real
cinematography and color grading are the difference
between getting paid $300 for your work vs. $5000.
you can watch Wandering DP's channel for cinematography
and Qazi's channel for color grading.
But most importantly, camera gear is something only YOU care about.
your client doesn't understand it how you do,
since they're paying for the work, not your gear.
So also learn sales, marketing and business.
you can watch Futur and Flash Film Academy for that.
@ 1:05 what are those type of overlay with the numbers called. I’ve been searching for so long and cannot find them😤
💎’s Bro!
I need to work on that!!!
Are you dropping the VHS fint anytime soon? Nice video btw!
Thank you for keeping it reel bruh ;)
I think choreography (no matter how small) could play a part too. It’s cool to be hype but if the set is in a restaurant, I don’t know if that’s they scene where you wanna be jumping around and shaking your dreads. Save that for the green screen scene or the sidewalk scene. Just in my opinion. It helps to storyline.
Nice overlays and texts/fonts. If you don't mind, where did you get those from?
1- you watch music videos to replicate what the others are doing...everyone does it get over it
2- it looks more professional because theyre just better periodt.
or you can change color in post
Bro you do make me look good with your work kkkk thanks alot
Bruv, Thank you for ur impact in my new journey into Videography. I wanna know if you own rights to the music videos you produce. Do you get % in royalties?
A proper color grade will take your footage that much further
I love u homie , ur videos have helped me a lot , ima Christian rapper and videographer from Seattle
Great great great jewels , salute.
where do you get your overlays bro?
Dropping gems on this friday, im here for it!
❤️

You only take PayPal ???
I think the colour grading, and staging are still stuff I notice in this big videos
I thought you would’ve gone into color grading.
Aren't we talking about mise-en-scene.
