I may have cried a little while making this; my poor baby has been through so much pain ugh.

What I've noticed throughout the series is that until season 2 he's more childish, full of joy and hope. But from season 3 to 5 he just seems colder, harsher, the way he talks, moves, stands, the look on his face and eyes, everything has changed (I especially notice that in seasons 4-5).His destiny has started to crush him and with every person that he loses, he loses a piece of himself too. ***spoilers***He has now accepted that Arthur will die, he knows how much is in stake and it's like that he becomes an emotionless machine that tries to prevent it all. But he doesn't make it after all, and a flood of emotions come to crush him when he understands how severely injured Arthur is.
Colin's performance is beyond amazing. He could show increadibly all the parts of Merlin's personality, both happy and sad, dark and light, emotional and cold. Amazing character development. It's like this show's characters grew up along side their audience. Maybe that's why this fandom is still so alive and it keeps growing
I’m back a year later, and i realise, the show ended in the best way possible, my past self was devastated, then i realises the point of the show was to show that Emrys (the literal meaning of is name being immortal) would live forever, and the once and future king, would die. The show revolves around the failure of this prophecy. And it’s now, right now, i realise that.
the show has a stellar cast and a ton of very distingiushed guest actors but it is Colin who makes this show so pervasive for us throughout all those years since its conclusion. the writers and directors did a great job too but I very much doubt we would do so much re-watching, talking and admiring the Arthur-Merlin relationship if they had cast another actor as Merlin. Colin is it for me and he never disppointed in any other project he did. either that or he is my very personal kryptonite

hands down, Colin is one of the best actors for dramatical series I've ever seen! He knows how to hit the feels!
Wow this edit is so good. This song is usually seen as triumphant or defiant but with Merlin it seems so sad. After losing everything Merlin is still ALIVE. And that’s the saddest part.
"......and I saw life in a strangers face !!!" Coming late to MERLIN only just a couple of months ago I could not figure out who the bearded scraggly looking man was that Merlin was grieving so hard about, with no easy way to find out but to keep searching and asking, and finally realizing it was his father. It, like many things took a lot of time and research, but worth it for the grief he evidenced. So often this was the case for those characters who were not on screen all the time, but worth it. How did Colin/Merlin ever learn to stage these crying scenes and so well appropriate to the circumstances. What a gift from his own heart..... I can understand the tears at the end of the MERLIN series and having to say good bye to Arthur for the friends they have become in real life because of these 5 shared years in BBC's epic Legacy production, but what passion and emotion for all the others, too. Thanks to each and all of the actors, staff, and production team for the final result, a flawless presentation, and to you for this beautiful video. Blessings, all.....

Well I don't need my heart anyway! 😭💔 A beautiful heartbreaking Merlin tribute. It saddens me really that wherever Merlin is right now, yes he is breathing and yes he is alive. But I am very much sure he is no longer LIVING because his LIFE and LIGHT have been taking away from him. I don't get it. After 5 amazing series Merlin ended in such a low and depressing note. I feel an empty space in my heart. Why can't Merlin be genuinely happy in his life 😭💔

The best Merlin video I've ever seen! I love this song and it makes me so sad to see how sad Merlin's life is
There is a beautiful second storyline here. (spoilers) In the beginning, it's about Merlin finding resilience despite all of these losses. So many loved ones are taken from him, and at 2:38 he is forced to betray a friend on top of it all. But he has a moment of relief when the refrain returns at 2:57. He still has Arthur to help him carry on.
The reprieve is short-lived (in the timespan of this video), and it's the last straw. "I'm alive" feels defiant at 3:05 - he will stop at nothing to save his closest friend. By 3:15 it feels resigned, then it quickly becomes a cry of desperation. WHY is he left alive, after losing so much? And he will shoulder that burden for centuries.

ok this made me cry, i was expecting Arthur's death but i wasn't ready to hear Merlin shout "he's my friend, i can't lose him" again... damn, Merlin really lost so much 😢

I don´t know how many times I´ve watched this video but it´s just one of my favourite Merlin MVs
~^< ❤ >^~ and ~^< ❤ >^~ WE ARE THE SANCTUARY, THE HEALING PLACE... Some things about the series one can not know without watching a lot of BBC and fan videos. Small details that solve a question or a mystery . I immersed myself in every video that I could find that is well made, audible, with beautiful photos. I saw this some months ago and am back again with an ever greater appreciation for this and all of MERLIN, and Arthur and so many fine actors. Its a small detail in some ways, but I did not know until this week that WILL in his own dying later confessed the windstorm so that Merlin would not be exiled or killed. Will anything ever come close to BBC's epic Legacy production. So well done, just as this video is. Thank you !! again.

Discovered Merlin maybe 6weeks ago. Have seen the entire series 3 times now. Working through it for the 4th round. Every time I get to that last scene, I have to start over, so that Merlin and Arthur will be full of life and hope again. Cannot bear to end where the series leaves them.
This series is my escape valve during an extremely difficult time of upheaval in my life.
This is definitely one of the 2 or 3 best edits of Merlin that I've seen. Intelligent, thoughtful, perceptive work. Good job! You made me cry, which isn't easy to do.
Thank you for this wonderful video. The story had to end this way, and the final episode made an already classic series immortal. Ten years later, I still feel devastated for Merlin.
