    I flew on the B717s a lot when Air Tran was flying them. It was a modern DC-9.

      Nice! The last time I flew on a 717 was with AirTran. This aircraft is actually an old AirTran 717.

    Notice the registration number, N997AT. This was originally an AirTran jet. AirTran was bought by Southwest who leased all of the 717s to Delta and kept AirTran's 737-700s.

      I'm guessing that's why the last two letters are AT? Honestly didn't even realize that!

      @@scottstoriz1104 Yes, that is correct. I think Delta's reg numbers end in DL for the planes they own. They probably left the original reg number because they don't own these, they are leased. I probably flew this very airplane numerous times while with Air Tran.
