unscripted shows & reality-based television series have been around since the 1940s the settings and circumstances of reality tv are contrived and manufactured for the sole purpose of the television show. the series members are cast by a casting director like actors and paid to perform accordingly. documentary film subjects are not cast and they are not paid. the subjects are captured in the environments they would've been in with or without the cameras and doing what they would normally do...

- "Where do you see yourself in 20 years?" Let me answer that for you, Madonna: 2012 - Madonna is still the strongest female in the music business, touring the world with what is poised to be on the top 3 most successful tours in history, the MDNA Tour. Not to mention that her latest studio album (MDNA) is the 5th best selling album of the year.
First: A good interviewer never tells his opinion, he´s only asking why. He is only a link between interviewing person and viewer. Never calling someone "control freak" Second: Huge respect towards Madonna for not slapping this guy to face (for most of the time truly offensive questions)
She was, she is, and she will be forever my Queen!! I love her with my soul and heart, she si the MOST successful and influential female artist of all times!!
@PensiveCzar Just years before the US had a President who wouldn't even utter the word "AIDS". Conversations were beginning but it was a completely different era and time.
@PensiveCzar "The gay 90s" refers to the 1890s sweetie 😂 I'm not disagreeing that the 80s and 90s were better for LGBT people than previous decades, but we still had a LONG way to go. From older gay men I've talked to, the AIDS crisis of course was a HUGE setback, and setback the gay rights movement alot. Hearing Madonna say these sort of things in 1991 was NOT that common for celebrities at that time, at least of her stature. She had many peers alongside her too, Elizabeth Taylor for example who was a HUGE champion of the fight against AIDS, but still, much of this fight then was fighting back against people's backward attitudes. Equal protections legislation and marriage equality was but a pipe dream at this time. Remember, Matthew Shepherd was murdered in 1998 - that's only 22 years ago! So, yes, we have come a LONG way from then and we have so much to be thankful for now.
@PensiveCzar ...I didn't say conversations were "just beginning"? I said it just wasn't very commonplace. I mean anyone with a grasp of us lgbt history knows stonewall in 1969 changed everything - and yes, that's when conversations started, but it was a LONG way from there to where we are now. And as I said, the AIDS crisis in the 80s changed EVERYTHING. SO many people died. SO many activists and voices were lost. It was a major, MAJOR setback and it certainly stalled progress.
This interviewer like many back in the day with Madonna tried to outsmart her and like all the rest he failed miserably. She will always outsmart the media and play them like a fiddle. Love this woman then and now.
Great interview. Yeah, the interviewer may come off as a jerk but he asked her some really good questions and provoked some fantastic responses. She wouldn't put up with this now, though.
watch my videos She's less tolerant of people outright bullying her, or trying to. But actually most big celebs are the exact same way. They will prescreen questions before agreeing to do an interview. This is to protect their image to the public and also avoid being exploited by the tabloids.
Never try to outsmart Madonna, cause she will outsmart you.

Second: Huge respect towards Madonna for not slapping this guy to face (for most of the time truly offensive questions)
It's amazing how far ahead of her time she was! And that man is annoying
So wonderful to watch this classic interview I think of all the Monumental things that happened moving forward. So groundbreaking!
It's amazing how so many has passed through and she's still her stronger than ever .. Fascinating Madonna .. Amazing woman damn it ..
She was, she is, and she will be forever my Queen!!
I love her with my soul and heart, she si the MOST successful and influential female artist of all times!!
Madonna speaking on gay rights before basically anyone celebrity at a time, when it was considered extemely taboo to do so, Let's not forget.
unfortunately, it´s been forgotten. All young gays think Gaga is a gay defender. When basically now is trendy and easy to be.
@PensiveCzar Just years before the US had a President who wouldn't even utter the word "AIDS". Conversations were beginning but it was a completely different era and time.
@PensiveCzar "The gay 90s" refers to the 1890s sweetie 😂
I'm not disagreeing that the 80s and 90s were better for LGBT people than previous decades, but we still had a LONG way to go.
@PensiveCzar links please. gimme a break! Are you the interviewer disguised btw? F off!
i just love her so much
GORGEOUS AND EXTREMELY INTELLIGENT MADONNA. MADONNA GIVES GREAT INTERVIEWS....
One of my favorite interviews. She was absolutely ahead of her time.
This interviewer like many back in the day with Madonna tried to outsmart her and like all the rest he failed miserably. She will always outsmart the media and play them like a fiddle. Love this woman then and now.
I too
Madonna knows how to handle rude people.
grace under pressure!! She always exuded the confidence of a diligent student.
The guy is a jerk
Yet she smiles through it all. So resilient!
i love Madonna from that time
That guy tried to trip her up so many times and she answered every question perfectly
He would never ask a man those questions. Double standard if you're a strong woman.
she really did pave the way for todays pop girls, i love her so much
Madonna has always been ahead of her time
So fucking gorgeous!!! Ever since her music came out, I was 13. She changed my life in such a great way!
Great interview. Yeah, the interviewer may come off as a jerk but he asked her some really good questions and provoked some fantastic responses. She wouldn't put up with this now, though.
wsmith4 why?
watch my videos She's less tolerant of people outright bullying her, or trying to. But actually most big celebs are the exact same way. They will prescreen questions before agreeing to do an interview. This is to protect their image to the public and also avoid being exploited by the tabloids.
