At the beginning every single ally will go with more tdp. After a few minutes it goes down to 25w (or what you choose bevore). You have to make the test after the first few minutes in overdrive. Your ally will not be that fast anymore and you get a real test-bench... good luck
I want to buy this thing, but im scared to make a mistske trying to do all the extra stuff. From what i have seen, everyone is just trying to make it better. Rather than there being a uniformed way to get it to play games solidly.
I just found out the second batch is better. I have to ask about this. You have 14 days to try it at best buy. Some got lucky. Some had lots of issues. And I may do an rma to see if I can get a better unit. But for now. It’s all good so far. Good luck.
That's why you have youtube....tgeres no reason to be afraid of anything in this day and age. When you drive, are you afraid to go to a new destination or, do you use GPS? You use GPS to get there. Same thing here
It is not that difficult to set up. Basically everyone is making all of these adjustments to get the most out of there system. It’s actually more difficult dealing with protons on the steam deck in my opinion. All games just run on the Ally
Dudes, if you know what you're doing, this machine is a godsend! ...but I can't say I wasn't frustrated a couple of days setting it up. :) ...it's sad that people have no patience with themselves and are returning it. It's not their fault, it's just bad for setting an example for followup products. I want this machine to succeed. I believe it has a lot going for it! But ASUS, if you're reading this, you guys better not give up on what you started! ;)
@@niklev83 I second that. Asus. If you hear everyone. Work on fixes. Just like my Asus Rog Strix G15. You fix most of the issues. Now let’s get this Ally polish.
Yeah Auto for me is worst for certain games like Forza Horizon 5. I'm only getting around 51fps with my settings vs 4G at around 61fps. It kinda sucks cause I have the XG Mobile 6850M XT and when using that I always set it to Auto so that there is more RAM available. 11.7GB vs 15.2GB. I wish it would just auto switch even if it still required a restart. Or at least give us an option to do so.
The issue I have is going to bios. I can't just hit the volume down and power. I have to first go to windows and recovery. After doing just the windows 11 I install I could. Anyone having that issues. Maybe I have to do the Asus cloud recovery way. But just like how it is now.
No one should have to do all that for a handheld or any system, unless you are being paid to do so. Two days i returned mine. When windows makes software for handhelds maybe then it will be worth it. I’m not paying 700 to be annoyed and frustrated , to me that doesn’t make sense
Just like laptop. From Asus. Boy they had issues. And the model date made a different but still had bugs. And had to wait for updates. Now that laptop is a beast. For the Ally. I was really close. But since I miss the cut time to return it. I listen to every one and started to redo things and hope for the best. And so far it's much better. They still need to do more. For now I have to hope this $700 handheld will become solid. For now it's way better then how it was.
@@JPTake3 I just saw that someone tried a fresh install of window home not the Asus version and they did a benchmark with the 3.19 and got about 44 fps on cyberpunk iirc
Never had a problem with the unit so far and had it for over a month now
That's. Great. My ally is all good so far now. Did you change anything at all and microsd card is all good also.

That's true. Specially when battery dip down to 60% that's good way to check things. Like most things. They get weaker when the battery gets low.

After i did the manuel fan curve, watched some videos from some tech savy people and learn some shit on discord.....im NOT returning this thing 😂
Have to learn some of those things.

What is your VRAM set to? I swap from auto and 4GB. Sometimes I think auto is better. But with auto Chiaki seems to be worse using PS5 remote play

I will have to try auto. Thanks

@@JPTake3 you could actually change this within Armoury Crate. It's under Operation Mode then GPU.
@@volcalstone thanks.
I fresh clean install Windows 11 Enterprise Digital License .
Keep it up Hawaiian!
Thanks bro

No your right I was really close in returning it.
See I agree but disagree with you cause it’s a “handheld” but a pc at heart and this stuff comes with pc gaming

steamdeck was even worse when i bought it on launch day 0 it took 6 months for valve to sort it - not saying its right but they all do this
