    That's a Carborundum brand, non-inductive, tubular resistor, although a few companies make one similar.

    Mechanical layout Is looks promising, the carbon olso has no inductance, the cadge may distribute the capacitive loading on the resistor surface.

    Use a Pozi drive screwdriver, NOT a Phillips head screwdriver, they look the same but aren’t, the Phillips head doesn’t seat properly hence it slips and butchers the head. Just saying, 😊

      I have answers for you about the screws must tight likely they used some form of “Loctite“ which is a brand and also a formula used in typically three strengths, green light bloom, intermediate, and red never getting it off again that scenario. How is it at my company on our manufacturing floor it’s just to keep screws from backing out do the vibration or people tampering with her sometimes. Under the shield is probably some sort of iron core or air corps, iron and Dr. some type and be my guess it looks like.
