This year's Princess Games was a blast! I'm so glad everyone once again gathered to make this contest amazing! I heard so many wonderful entries this year and everyone who won absolutely deserved their win. I am still astonished that I'm amongst the winners this year. Elsa means so much to me and to be your "very own ice queen" is the greatest honour. Thank you once again for hosting these games, Felicia. Can't wait for next year ^^
Everyone - winners and other participants - did an amazing job in this, I imagine choosing was really difficult. I was especially impressed by MatchaDa's beautiful interpretation of Melody, child-voices are not the easy ones to do plausibly. Looking forward to next year's contest!
I know I never take part in contests, so I'm not sure If I'm in the right to opine. But since I enjoy watching these contests I'd like to suggest for next year's characters to use all of those you have never used before, like Thumbelina, Rosella and Antonio, Tori and Keira, Moses, Derek, Luisa, Tarzan, Kovu, Thipporah, (We'll also have LA Ariel next year), Peter Pan 2 soloist... Because it's a little "boring" to see the same characters year after year! I hope it doesn't sound rude, I'm not trying to be so! It's just constructive criticism, but it is your contest and your choice after all, and I'll keep enjoying it year after year 😊
Several of those characters are on the list for the vote for next year. Unfortunately, even if I try to include more unusual characters, they're not as popular and get much fewer participants than other, more popular characters. That's why I started doing a vote for which characters to include so I can make sure I get characters people are actually interested in. Like, two years ago I included Meechee from smallfoot and she got 6 auditions, while Elsa got 26. So unfortunately it's not that easy to include more rare characters, even though I want to do it too.
Ahhhhh THE TALENTTTTTTT!!! Everyone this year really was quite INCREDIBLE!! I don’t envy the judges or anyone trying to pick a fave, soooooo many faves for me too hehe!! Such a blast joining & seeing everyone shine here! Amazing amazing work everyone CONGRATSSSS!! 🙌🙌🙌🙌

Hi Felicia! 😊 First off, thank you so much for your hard work making these games. There are a lot of decisions to make, and I'm sure it takes a lot of organisation, time and dedication. So beware that we all appreciate you for all the effort you do ❤️ Also, thank you to all the judges, who have spent a lot of their time in listening to every audition and giving it a mark that contains a lot of thought behind it. Now, Felicia, I wanted to make a point, and I would like you to tell me your thoughts about it, please 🥲 I would have loved to audition for many more characters but, unfortunately, my vocal range doesn't match every character. What I mean is that I am, for example, more comfortable singing Ariel songs 4 semitones higher (in an octave lower) than the actual instrumental. I can sing the songs on the original tone, but I am not really satisfied with how it turns out, it almost feels as if I wasn't feeling anything, you know? I would PERFECTLY understand that you preferred that everyone sung the songs in the original tone, since it's like an actual audition for the character, and that keeps everyone (mostly) out of their comfort zone, and helps improving and expanding your range. That's just my suggestion, I would love to see your opinion about it!! ❤️

I wrote my point only focusing on the "genderbending" case, but I agree that what's more fair and simple is just to stick to the octave that feels better to oneself! I wonder if another solution we could consider would be to include more male characters! We haven't had this many strong boy singers in the community for a long time, maybe that will encourage more diversity for characters next year 😊
As the others have said, it would make judging very hard if everyone changed the key. And like you said, with everyone singing the same key, it's more like an audition for the actual song. But we'll try to get some more guy characters next time and some more variation. Do you have some characters that fit your vocal range?, 😊
